    Good deal for Eddie

  • Anyone have experience with this group? I was just comparing between Southern Cross Travel Insurance and World2Cover when this popped up.

    • I’ve used them a few times when going on cruises, had to claim once for the camera gear that was lost & had no issues.

  • We are unable to provide a quote for more than 2 adult traveller(s) and more than 6 dependent traveller(s).

Got the message above, not for big family…

    Hi All,

I've vowed to neg every TID post/deal that comes through, this is so people are aware of my bad experience:

Copy and paste from my previous comments:
I had a bad experience with TID.

There was an earthquake in Japan last year and I couldn't travel from Tokyo to Osaka due to damage on the train system.

This resulted in me also not being able to arrive to my Osaka hotel.

TID advised me the train company and hotel should compensate me if it was impacted by the earthquake, not them.

TID also requested I get written evidence from the train and hotel companies advising they won't cover me before they would even look into my claim.

What's the point of having travel insurance when they're not covering these scenarios.

My work colleague used their credit card travel insurance with the same scenario and no problems claiming.

I advise you to contact any travel insurance with a few scenarios and how they go about compensation eg., like my scenario.

Again, I strongly advise everyone against taking out a cover with them. It may be worth the extra money for looking elsewhere.

Cheers for the heads up. Just purchased for Vietnam.

    • They don't do annual 😭

I have used them many times and had a couple of claims, all went very smoothly, will use them again and again

  • What’s the Ozbargain Travel insurance provider of choice? Going to Japan shortly and want something that’s good value but had worthwhile coverage.

  • Isn't Travel Insurance free with most credit cards?

I thought even a few Debit Mastercards/Visas are now offering it too as part of perks.

I think the coverage is a bit hit and miss depending on what it is (ie. theft, medical)

      • Fair. I assumed it was probably a bit more on the basic side.

The only reason I brought it up is that I noticed the one on my card is the same cover I've seen in Flight Center and a few other agencies that sell it.

    • The 'free' travel insurance often doesn't cover as much as regular policies, has lower excess, etc.

  • Much more expensive than other

  • More expensive than others, and well known for denying claims.
