This unit is almost identical in specs to the NUC11TNHi7 ($699 at Kogan/ Umart), however from what I can tell this unit has a slightly higher clock speed and has some security features usually used in corporate environments.

Wouldn't you just buy a proper desktop for $600?

It's form factor, power usage and 3 year warranty that attract people to Intel NUCs.

This is a laptop CPU, much more power efficient then any desktop variant of todays lineup.

@Kill Joy: This is a common misunderstanding, any newer and more powerful cpu will also be more power efficient by nature. If you took a desktop 12th or 13th gen cpu and undervolted it to the same wattage then it'll still be faster.

if it's going to be sitting at your desk the whole time it makes no difference.

Not everybody have that kind of space for a desktop or don't like a big desktop on the floor.

@superforever: I find it hard to believe that you've got enough space for a keyboard and mouse but not enough space under the same table for your legs and a mini atx or matx case. Not like you have to build an e-atx tower.

    • This comes with a wall mount bracket. Mine is hiding behind my wall mounted tv.

Damn, would have been a good deal.

  • Maybe it's the start of the runout deals

  • Asus have licensed the Nuc line from Intel and will be continuing to support and sell them going forward 👍 Wonder if it will affect the possibility of run out deals like you mention.
