I feel like owning more and more ultimate gift cards is incentivising me to keep shopping at JB hifi, heh.

    • +2

      Poor Gerry

      • +11

Nah! Screw him. JB > HN

      • He is definitely not poor.. !

      • Poor Gerry

Scew him!! He had his chance.

  • -2

Is Spotify on any of these?

  • any restaurant

  • Perfect timing, was after some good points on JB gift card for iPhone season

    • Same

  • +1

Sorry noob question here - what does 20x everyday rewards translate to in terms of $ per $ redeemed?

Also if I buy something from JB Hifi does paying with gift cards impact eligibility to claim at tax time? (Ie a laptop)

    • +4

      2000 pts = $10

      • +1

        Nah I'm pretty sure it's 200 pts = $1

        • +2

1 point is worth two farthings.

        • 2pts/¢ actually

        • has to be everyone 2000 pts per spend

      • Ah but you can buy woolies gift cards at 4 percent so it's really 9.60

        • Show me how, please.

    • JB Hifi does paying with gift cards impact eligibility to claim at tax time?

Nope. You get an invoice saying you paid.

      • If CR or SB is ATO, yes

    • +1

No; the method of how you pay doesn’t impact tax deductibility. How you use the laptop will impact that

    • +2

So it's $10 in everyday rewards if you spend $100 gift card, only 10% off. The 15% TCN gift card promo from Coles was better.

Still alright if you know a retailer you want to get something at.

      • Somehow I got a feeling we will be seeing less 15% gift card promos this year. Of course hope to be proven wrong.

  • How would that work out with my Rewards Extra if I get 5x$500 for JB Hifi?
Rewards Extra gives you double points. Would that be also the case with this deal?

    • +1

No, you’ll just get 20x points as those other offers specifically exclude gift cards.

Also, variable load $50-500 cards are excluded so you’re limited to 5x $100 cards per day.

      • Just to be more precise.
I start buying 5x100 Ultimate Thanks Cards(which include JB) on 09/08/2023. For that day I will make 5x2000 or converted 5000 Qantas points? The same thing I will just repeat five more times on different days. Will I make 25000 Qantas Points? And with the Rewards Extra subscription that doubles every earned point could it be even 50000 Qantas points?
        Hope that’s understandable.

The terms and conditions of the Everyday Extra double points booster says it does not apply to purchases of gift cards.

If you look at the Everyday Extra webpage, it features this frequently asked question:

What purchases will I collect 2x points on?

You’ll collect Extra Points of 1 bonus point for every dollar spent at Woolworths and BIG W, in-store and online. There are a small number of products which you won’t collect Extra Points on, such as smoking products, gift cards, mobile recharge, travel cards and delivery charges. • Yay IKEA!

    • just wondering can we use multiple ultimate gift cards at one transaction in ikea? cheers!

      • +3

In terms of Ultimate gift cards:

        • Instore: I am not sure whether IKEA actually lets you use multiple Visa cards in one transaction, as I have never had an opportunity to test this out myself.

        • Online: This is not possible, as IKEA does not accept Ultimate gift cards on their website.

You can also exchange an Ultimate gift card for a digital IKEA gift card through the Ultimate gift card website. IKEA handles the redemption of IKEA gift cards differently to Ultimate gift cards, which means…

        • +2

yes you can use multiple visa/mastercard for instore transaction at IKEA. I have tested it. I used 5x visa card to meet the high interest banking requirement, then i split with multiple gift cards as well, dont forget to insert the quarterly discount too!

  • Can I use more than 1 ultimate home gift card in 1 transactions when buying stuff in JB HiFi or the good guys?
Since it works like a debit card, not sure if I can use more than 1 at once

    • +3

I used 16 ultimate home gift cards in one transaction at jbhifi last month.

    • Yes but go during quiet hours when the checkouts not that busy

    • +1

I used 26 on prime day at JB took me at least half an hour to put through all the $50 ones as you need to scratch and use the pin

  • Just to confirm.. if I want $3000 of Ultimate Home cards I'll have to do $500 a day (5 x $100) for 6 days because of the limit? Or can I do it in one day just splitting it across multiple transactions and still get the rewards points for all 3K worth?

    • Lol what are you buying..?

      • An expensive Mac Studio.

        • +1

Nice, 10% is nothing to sneeze at for apple products, hardly reduced ever.

          • @G-rig: And with this deal, you can either stack with 10% ex stock Macs, or go down the CTO route and get a discount on that machine. CTO never get discounted unless you know someone willing to bend the rules.

            • @t25: Sounds pretty good.

In the end I used that 15% TCN voucher at Rebel (macpac jacket) but then it became cheaper somewhere else anyway so could have just claimed on 28d. Hard to know at the time but it's all effort lol.

            • @t25: CTO can do 5% at JB if your really lucky

      • Kitchen reno - new fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher etc.

  • I'm a little confused with the Rebel Sports part.
So can I buy these to use at Rebel Sport or should I be looking for specific dated cards?

    • +1

You need to look for Ultimate Him/Kids/Teens gift cards with the rebel logo printed on the cardboard packaging.

The Ultimate gift card website says the only physical Ultimate gift cards that still work at rebel are ones where the cardboard backpacking has the rebel logo on it. From what I have seen, Ultimate gift cards manufactured from December 2022 onwards do not have the rebel logo printed on the cardboard packaging, so those particular Ultimate gift cards are not supposed to work at rebel.

  • Can we use the Xbox variant card to “topup” our gamepass subscription…. Ie: like topup on Apple for their subscription? Does it work like that?

  • Got 5 $100 Ultimate Thank You cards from Woolworths Perth CBD, and it did say you have $50 off your next shop.
Plenty of stock of $50 cards Student / Teen / Thanks card in the store.

    • How many points did you get in total? I think I'm after 15 x $100 HIM Gift Cards, so I will need to go into Woolies 3 days seperate

      • 10000 points ( 2000 x 5)

        • Sweet. Should be looking at 15,000 Qantas Points then for my 15 x $100 cards

    • Check-out also shows $50 off for me. Looks like the points were automatically converted to shop money?

  • Well I’m an idiot and didn’t scan my rewards card. Luckily their phone support added the 10k points out of good will. Already have the qantas points in my account

    • sorry, what's this about qantas points? can you convert the rewards points to qantas points?

      • +1

Yes, everyday rewards have long been partnered with Qantas. You can either opt for Woolies $ or to have points auto converted to qantas points. Every reward point = 0.5 qantas.

So in this deal, 10000 reward points for $500 spend = 5000 qantas points

The best I’ve had is 30x points on Apple Gift Cards a few years back, I made 30,000 qantas points from buying an iPhone (plus the points earned on credit card)

  • Just bought $1500 worth of ultimate home ($100 card) and we only get 5% back on the rewards, not 10%. Strange.

It is over a few transactions (e.g. 5 cards at a time).

    Thought?

    • +1

The limit is five cards per day, not per transaction.

      • Are you able to clarify whether the daily limit is on a 24 hour timer or calendar day? Don't want to go in tomorrow morning and have it not work since it wont have been 24 hours after today's transaction.

        • +1

          Calendar day.

      • Ah crap. That's how they get you. :(

        • +2

Give Everyday Rewards a call or message and you might still be able to have the points manually credited. They're usually pretty forgiving, particularly in cases where customers were misled by in-store staff (for example, if the checkout person told you that you would earn 20x points on all fifteen cards).

  • Can you buy 5 x $100 in Woolworths and 5 x $100 in Big W and get the 20X for each purchase?

    • +2

This offer is only available at Woolworths and Woolworths Metro.

  • Bought 5x100 Ultimate Him cards. Received 5000 Qantas Points straight away.

  • Second batch of 5 x $100's is showing up in my rewards activity but is reporting 0 points (made the transaction 2 hours ago) I assume it will eventually arrive.

    • Got my second batch as well. Arrived on qantas straight away.

  • has anyone had any success with the blackhawk customer support?

I need to get a replacement card which was blocked by Blackhawk for suspicious activity. its been like 6 weeks now

  • Can I purchase these with Zip at Woolworths?

  • Offer available from 9/8/23 to 15/8/23 on all denominations of gift cards listed excluding Ultimate Kids $50-$500, Ultimate Teens $20-$500, Ultimate Everyone $100, Ultimate Everyone $50-$500, Ultimate Home $50-$500, Ultimate Eats $30-$500,

Above copy paste from OP. Are those denominations excluded ?

    • I think it means the variable load ones are excluded which is what OP stated in the title. They actually say “$50-500” (or $20-500, $30-500) on the packaging.

    • The terms make it sound much more confusing than it really is. The only cards you can't buy are variable load cards (those are the ones labelled "$50-500" or "$25-500" where you specify the amount you want load on the card) and the Ultimate Everyone card.

The $30, $50 and $100 versions of the Ultimate Him, Her, Baby & Mum, Kids, Teens, Students, Active & Wellness, Shopping, Beauty & Spa, Home, Eats and Thanks gift cards will all earn 20x points.

  • Anyone know what happens when you make a refund on a product but was paid for with gift cards?
Does it go back onto the gift card?

    In particular at officeworks..

  • I’m very confused. The cards at my store look a bit different and more modern that those in the photo on this post, it says HIM gift card with JB hifi as one of the logos. The receipt says him fashion gift card, and the rewards rep is saying I got the wrong ones hence why I didn’t get any points. They added them as goodwill, but honestly I swear there is no such thing as the ultimate him AND the fashion him.

    • Sounds like you bought TCN Him cards rather than Ultimate Him cards.

      • +1

Yep. I honestly don't think the store I was in had the ultimate cards, only the TCN, which is why I confidently got the ones that had a massive blue HIM, and the JB logo. I've just been into another store and they had both the TCN and ultimate, but then the absence of the JB logo on the $100 denom of the Ultimate threw me off. Ended up getting 5 of the THANKS ultimate cards and looks like those points have tracked instantly. User error on my part for sure but still quite confusing with the different brands! Luckily have received all 30,000 points from $1500 worth of cards that can be used at JB, so I'm happy. Thanks OP.

        • Don't worry, I've seen it happen at least a dozen times. The important thing is that you got your points in the end.
