XM5 don't fold back like the MX4 do. Might be a preference for some over that
Agree, there is nothing special about paying $400 for those, I paid $415 for the xm5 (tgg) and later price protection claimed for $350 (JB price error).
The xm4 are still great but $200-300 is a better target price (people have been getting the refurbished ones that are as good as new for that).
never again for me. never XM series Sony headphones - I had xm3, failed, I had xm4, 1 month - failed. So nah.
My Nuraphones have been solid as a rock for 2 years now - they're bulletproof afaiak.

Me too - I use my XM3s almost daily, had them 4 years also. Cannot fault…
My XM3 purchased in December 2018 is still working fine.
My XM4 from June 2021 is also fine.
My XM2s have been used almost daily and I've had them since 2018. I don't even look after them that well.
I'm still using WH1000XM2's. They have to be at least 6 years old
My Nuraphones only have sound thru one side now after 4 years.
My XM4s broke (high pitch squeal) but I was wearing them to bed pretty much every night. They broke a little outside warranty and fixed them for me. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you but glad you found something

Got these for $398 at JB a couple of weeks ago. They gave me a $50 coupon also.
I tried these… they are not that loud.
Beats Studio 3s are way better compare to x4 , probably 5 tooLoudness means nothing about audio quality lol.
I wouldn't class beats as good either.What phone was that with they go plenty loud enough.
The idea of ANC is that you shouldn't need them loud (and save your hearing).

Bad point badly made.
How is that a bad point? Is valid. Loudness does not mean more detail. If the headphones have a crappy v signature for example you crank up the volume you get more bass and no more detail from the music
JB hifi also sells it at $399, if anyone would prefer to buy it from them.
