Decent price, but the Pixel Watch 2 should drop in the next couple months.

    • I would be on the same page with Pixel Watch 2 coming out soon, $250 for this version is a real bargain.

      • +4

Too many people complained about battery life. If first year battery is bad, imagine on year two and three.

        • +5

I bought one on the last sale. As long as you are happy charging each night, it's not an issue. I don't really care about the sleep monitoring. I can get through a full day with always on screen. I've gotten through 1.5 days without charging and screen set to only turn on when tapped or moved.

          • @Moventura: What are your main uses for it?

            • +1

@bleeder: I use it for appointment reminders, tracking my steps, checking the time and checking phone notifications so I don't get distracted by my phone at work

Having owned Garmin watches for too many years, I can't imagine stepping down to a watch with at least 2-3 day battery life. I've recently switched from the Fenix 6X Pro to the Garmin Epix Gen 2 (comparable to the pixel watch), and now have a high end fitness watch, touchscreen, OLED screen, and still respectable battery life

          • @TechGuy96: Garmin Gen 2 is sooo expensive though

            • @Bladeyyy21: Just been on special for $700ish at JB, so really only double the price for so much more

          • +1

@TechGuy96: Its doable. Though I miss my pebbles month of battery or whatever it was

  • +2

    well that dropped fast

    • Could have been had for $294 a couple of months ago with a student code (which people often share on OzB forums)

      • if you had 10% off JB gift card, that'll be $296.1,
if you had 15% extra value JB GC, that'll be $286.09

I bought this TV some time ago.

It wouldn't switch on, so I called customer service and someone on the other end who sounded like Ashton Kutcher shouted "You just got Blaupunkt!" and hung up.

Not sure if I'll buy another.

file that under things that totally happened

      Tough crowd lol

    • This genuinely made me lol. People voting this down either have no sense of humour or don’t get the reference.

      • Haha me too.. laughed hard

  • +3

Shame they dont have any decent OLED deals. Really kicking myself that I didnt snap up the 65" OLED LG CS a few weeks ago.

  • Nice German branded TV made in China

    • Wasn’t the brand sold a long time ago? Same as MG cars, Segways scooters and Nokia devices are now nothing but a brand name with no relation to the original quality.

    • Bluedot a very nice name to name ur company.

Ve Commodore had a Blaupunkt stereo unit, absolute garbage!

    • +1

      let it go, Larry !!
      lol

  • +2

Terrible battery life. Wouldn't purchase one again .Display ok and slim fitting.
Requires multiple charges a day or all night charging and no sleep tracking. Often won't charge though.

    • Can we conclude that this is actually a widespread problem and not isolated? I’m thinking of grabbing one but I’m reading too many reports of poor battery life. I don’t know why some reviewers say the battery life is ok though?

      • +2

Definitely not wide spread… While I'll admit the battery life isn't amazing, mine easily gets through the day. For sleep tracking I stick it on charger before bed and no issues - probably don't need to do that but never tried. Charges quickly. Battery life does dive if using e-sim for data, but that use case should be limited to runs etc?

        • +1

My one is NOT the LTE one but the one that should use less power.
If I used it for any fitness tracking it would require at least 4hours charging to get through the day.

          • +2

@d2567: You need to make a warranty claim. I regularly use for fitness tracking and the battery drain isn't that significant.

          • @d2567: Exactly. Used purely as a watch it might last a day but used for tracking, its dead in the water.

      • +2

I've been wearing mine since 6am (so about 15 hours) and its battery is at 54%.

I've used it daily since the day it came out.

    • +1

Multiple charges a day? Won't charge? You have a warranty, y'know.

      • +2

I know , JB gave me a full refund. Annoyed that I purchased multiple watch bands for it though.
Purchased a Samsung 5 pro for $100 more and very happy with it. Battery lasts 4 days +.

        • +1

I feel like you got a faulty Pixel Watch. I understand getting the Samsung though. That'll be my next one unless Pixel Watch 2 goes at least 36 hours.

  • Great price on a 58 incher. I just don't like sitting on a couch with a TV far away. Too big as a secondary PC monitor.

  • I'd wait for the Pixel Watch 2 to release. Expect it in October, that's when Google will be having its showcase for its new lineup of phones, too, so you can be pretty sure the watch will make an appearance as well.

Battery life on the Pixel Watch isn't up to par with competitors. Hopefully the Pixel Watch 2 improves on that. If you want a WearOS with good battery (good battery for WearOS that is) check out Mobvoi's TicWatches. They last 2-3, sometimes 4 days.

    • I cant remember the brand I had (I think it was a ticwatch) had a e-ink and a lcd under it or something. When the main watch battery died you could still tell the time - was a nice feature

      • Yeah, the one I have does that too. That lasts another like 30 days or something on top I believe. Very cool.

  • Has anyone tried doing the OW price match guarantee?

    • if it's for the watches, they have already reduced their prices to match/beat

  • any one using this model for gaming? tired of using the 27' monitor for gaming with Xbox

    • only 60Hz

      • I dont even know if i'll notice the difference. :(

  • warranty wise, better to buy pixel watch from JB, Officeworks or Harvey Norman?

    • +1

I've had very good warranty experiences from both JB and Officeworks specifically with Google products.

  • Looks like most of Metro Sydney sold out of Blaupunkt 58" 4K UHD HDR Smart LED TV. If I go to Eastern Creek where the warehouse is, will I be able to pick one up there? Like is it a retail storefront?

  • +1

For those willing to work harder for the Google Pixel Watch and with a Google One subscription, it is $549 on the Google Store. You can order this for $54.90 store credit. After it is dispatched, you can request a price match to put it down to Officeworks for $327. This would put the watch at $272.10. I think at that price, it isn't that bad.
