      Their prices are exclusive of GST by the way so it's really $4.13/mo and you get less storage on their package.

          I wouldn't call an extra $0.87/month a massive price difference but that's up to the customer to decide. If they just want to try us for 3 months, we're only $5 whilst BinaryLane would be $12.39.

          Yes it was me. I saw you posting on Ozbargain yet not able to manage your tickets. I was annoyed. Cancelled my account on your website for the lack of support. The WHMCS interface seems a bit old and outdated. Also my VPS broke and segfaulted when rebuilding. Furthermore all I was asking for was why I could not ssh into the details you emailed.

          Your service is problematic, in a word.

      Unfortunately not mate. There's a reason why VPS providers in Aus don't offer 512MB ram solutions, IPv4 addresses in APNIC are expensive to procure and keep.

          I'll get Debian 12 added in as an option when signing up.

          The other 3 we can mount the ISO for you so that you can manually install it. Just submit a support ticket after ordering and we'll get it mounted.

      I'm not 100% sure on that sorry as we haven't had any dealings with calibre-web.

      We don't enable nested virtualisation but that isn't required for docker to work on linux so at least docker will work for you.

        Hi Op, if I am experimenting on things and even when I am done with experimenting, the actual requirement is lilely to be fairly nominal as I am not serving a big audience - in such a case is there any particular advantage going with you guys versus using say oracle always free VPS tier? Obviously comparing a paid vs free service is not fair but are there any other merits?

          It's pretty hard to compete with a free service.

          With our service, you're paying for it so you get support from us. We also monitor the platform 24x7 so if there's any issues, we rectify them ASAP so you'll experience great uptime. I've not tried the Oracle service so I'm not sure on how reliable it is and what kind of support you get with it.

    What happens if bandwidth is used up? Does the website slow or get shut down? Only one of these is acceptable to me.

      The VPS is suspended if the package isn't upgraded before you reach the bandwidth limit.

        In that case, what protections do you provide to prevent, for example, a competitor trying to bring down my website by having a bot slowly exhaust that 1TB? Not a DDoS attack, but something more subtle.

        Such limits mean others can control my website uptime.

    I just realised that Ubuntu 22 is the latest LTS version. It would be nice if you can add it into OS dropdown list when creating the VPS.

      That definitely shouldn't be happening. Are you able to submit a support ticket and we can look into it? Chances are a rebuild would be the way to go if you haven't done anything on the VPS yet.

      If you go to our order form, there's the drop down list with all of the OS that we currently support. Ubuntu 20 is in there but if you need Ubuntu 22, just order the Ubuntu 20 and we can mount the Ubuntu 22 ISO for you.
