      Take a VPN plane Turkey

  • $100, what is that like one month of Neflix 4K these days?

    • Probably a couple of years in Turkey

      • +1

Do all devices need a VPN when using a turkish account or is it just for the subscription?

We use netties on at least 10 devices

        • Just for the initial sub mate. Thereafter, can fire up Netflix without VPN.

          • @BargainHuntahh: Incorrect. A VPN is required for the first month as they region lock you from anywhere between 28 and 32 days. Once that period has lapsed, you can then use it without a VPN.

            • @KangaDrew: Tell that to everyone in our house who used it straight away without VPN.

              • @McFly: I probably could've worded that much better. I should've added for completeness that for the first 30 days there is usually a region lockout which means you need a VPN to watch some titles (e.g. The Witcher) if an error comes up on screen when trying to watch it. After ~30 days the VPN isn't ever needed again.

                • @KangaDrew: Might be old information? You only need a VPN to make an account. Your library is based on your local area, you can't watch Turkey Netflix even if you want to

            • @KangaDrew: I just set it up for my parents last week. There was no region lock. No VPN required after initial setup.

    • I got this confirmation mail last night. But I haven't got $15 promotional credit yet.

      • +2

it's usually automatically deducted at checkout if you're buying eligible Amazon AU products.

      • Same here,

I only got an ORDER CONFIRMATION, no promo mail and no email with the giftcard details yet.

I checked in the status stating scheduled so I'm abit confused as I had requested it to be sent right away.

        Paid with Amazon gift cards

        • angelique008 is right. If you select something from amazon and checkout, you will see the credit. e.g. $30 Netflix gift card. :)

Or save $100 and just sail the seven seas..

    • Huh?

      • You know pirate.

    Thanks op

  • Something telling me Netflix is trying to secure an income stream to offset their flailing subscriptions

    • +5

They claimed they had 100 million accounts sharing, and after they stopped password sharing they gained 3 million subscribers. So assuming each of those 100 million were only sharing with one person, then they just lost 97 million users. While it may seem like they gained 3 million paying users, losing 97 million users will cost them something in the long run. 97 million fewer people spreading word of mouth about Netflix shows for example, 97 million fewer households taking Netflix for granted as their main entertainment service.

      • Considering hosting costs associated with video streaming services, losing 97 million users not paying a subscription fee would still be considered a significant net positive for them. As much as it sucks to admit, this was a successful business move.

  • Can a netflix giftcard still be applied if it is part of Optus hub? Because I'm not seeing redeem giftcard

  • Can it be applied if you are already a netflix subscriber? I dont want to cancel and create a new account

    • Yes it can

  • Will buying 2 x $100 separately, yield $2 x15 promo credit?

  • -1

This deal excludes 99% of Ozbargain as we are all part of the Turkey Netflix family now.

  • If I add $100 netflix giftcard to my account, once credit is lower then my monthly fee will it be split payment gift card/other payment method?

    • Yes.

It will take what's left of the card/credit and then bill the remainder to your saved payment method.

  • My order is stuck in processing hell after more than 24 hours. Support is blaming an issue with the promo credit offer.

    • mine too. did u pay with an amazon gift?

    • Same here. Paid by gift card balance.

      • After cancelling the order and placing a new one with a credit card, I received the gift card and promotional credit emails almost immediately.

        • How did you cancel it?

          • +1

@John Kimble: Contact customer service through the chat

            • +1

@BreadTwo: Thanks, cancelled and reordered without gift card credit and got the gift card and $15 within a few minutes.

    • Yes I paid with Gift Card balance of $97ish and the rest CC and received my order number email pretty much straight away (10.24am this morning) but nothing since. I haven't contacted support yet.

      • +2

Cancel the order and pay with a credit card when you reorder.

  • +2

Damn…now i'm paid up until nov-25. Cheers Op.

  • bought 1x$100 netflix gc yesterday morning, but still yet to see $15 credit on my account. Anyone had similar issue pls?

  • +1

Has anyone else received the email but not the $15 credit in their account more than 24 hours later?

  • Paid via credit card and staus is "processing" for last 3 hours. Support says they need to contact my bank for a manual authorisation. What the?

    • Just received, 8 hours for it to be processed and the promotion credit received at the same time.

      • Did you get the credit on your account though?

I received the confirmation email Friday morning which says my account will be updated within 24 hours but it’s still not displaying…
