That's what I said when I met my wife for the first time.

  • @untech what is the earliest/lowest cost model with integrated wifi? Thanks

    • can you pm and I'll find something for you.

  • @OP do you have any models which can be modified to add additional ethernet port?

    • Any mini pc with a pcie slot, can put a nic. Pretty rare on mini pcs though

    • +2

Generally SFF are easier to modify. You can get this card to use https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/266302093439

Should work on majority of SFF's from our site

    • I use a USB ethernet, no slots needed.
RTL8153 with Linux has been reliable so far.

      • Which USB to ethernet adaptor are you using? I'm trying to setup a firewall and mine isn't able to reach gigabit speeds (or close to) even though it is advised as being able to, hence why I just want to add a NIC instead of usb USB to ethernet adaptor.

        • RTL8153 is the chip. In a generic USB-C hub. Just tested, it gets about 80MB/s file transfer.

If you are worried about speed, make sure you have usb-3.

    • Thanks for the feedback. Will look at the SFFs

I use one of these with Linux Terminal as a local "VPS", accessing from SSH on my Windows PC.

A program came out recently which is called xpipe, made the SSH connection and file management easier.

Docker on a native Linux machine is phenomenal, recently got into AudioBookShelf & Komga.

    I would personally pay the extra for the i5-6500T / 16GB / 256GB / WiFi at $153 delivered.

Thanks I bought one of the i5-6500T. Purely just for web browsing and data backup.

Bargain. Just don't have a use for one.

    • Torrenting / "backups" is my intention.

      • +1

That's exactly what I use mine for now.

        Torrents
        Media Server
        Back Up

what would you use these for?

    • Crypto staking

    • not sure why i got negged im interested in buying one but have no reason too atm, was thinking maybe a machine to just download onto?

    • Most things you can use a raspberry pi for. I actually have this exact model running windows with some programs I want to have in a central location (as opposed to running from my laptop which might be out of the home when someone wants to use).
In my case, some torrents, a copy of iTunes to sync some older Idevices, some back ups and syncs. Plus some windows only programs my kids need once in a blue moon that don’t run on their Mac.

  • In the link to the M700, the photo looks like it has a DVD drive, but it's not listed in the specs. Can you please confirm whether these units have a DVD drive?

    • +1

Hi, no dvd drive on M700. Added that in description

  • Do these have serial ports?

  • -1

    If it only had HDMI!

  • Is it strong enough to run youtube and Tidal to a 4K TV with no lag?

    • Surely would have to. I was thinking the same!!

  • Hi Rep. is there an option to upgrade the ssd to 240gb or higher?
Is there an inbuilt wifi or do you supply usb wifi adaptor ?

    • Can be done, can you leave a message in chatbox, and we can make a custom order for you.

  • has anyone received their orders yet? Contacted them last week Monday and was told that it will be shipped on that afternoon. After 4 days still no tracking ID- followed up again and only then the item was shipped.

    • +1

The exact same thing happened to me. They hadn't updated my order after 7 days so I contacted them and then the day after suddenly my order was shipped. They claim there's a delay to build systems or some weak excuse. I probably would have still been waiting had I not emailed them. Knew it was their muck up and crap service and called them out but they just made weak excuses.
