      there should be more info in the user guide, download it…

  • I have the 5431 and it is horrible. Best off buying a proper media player if you're after this particular function

    • most media players don't have a built in digital HD tuner and recorder though, but you're right about it's media playing capapbilities… it works, but only just…

      I've played a few avi's on it and they work fine, but the interface is really crap. i just use my WD player instead now…

      • For that matter, the digital hdtuner is subpar too.

  • Can't recommend Strong after experience with 5492 / 5495 pvr. Get something else. Stbs / pvrs can't be bought on price/feature list alone unfortunately, need to do your research and see how people like them over time.

  • Have the 5428, painful. Needs to be power reset every now & then, doesn't play a lot of the different formats it claims, audio sync issues with many mp4's….
