Can this be used for to extend the validity of an ongoing 12 months plan ?

    • You get a 20% off on every long expiry recharge

      • Are you sure about this? I just went to recharge and no discount and the offer does not seem to apply to recharging… just new SIMs (accounts)?

        • -1

I've 2 accounts and when I recharge online the discount applies, I recharged last month and paid $120 for the $150 plan , been getting this discount for the last 2 years

Usually you turn off auto recha, and then close to renewal date they offer you the discount. Done it myself.

    • I just rang Coles Mobile and no, you can't. It is for new customers only. Also if you buy a recharge voucher it will not extend your plan - it will ignore your existing time left.

      • Thanks for checking. No problem, I will start a new account and get the current number ported… from Coles to Coles. Really annoying when companies do not take care of their existing customers!

        • Can you actually port from Coles to Coles? I thought you needed to port to another provider and then port back.

  • I wonder when the resellers will be allowed access to the 5G networks now the 3G is gone?

  • Good deal, I purchased the same last October. Would happily go again but I'm going to have a crack at Boost sim hopping when my Coles expires.

    • I live 7 km from Brisbane and I have 1 to 2 bars where I am with boost. Towers everywhere but still 2 bars max. Will try Kogan next time around. Had Telstra before this and it was the same.
      Won’t do boost again

      • Do you actually have poor speeds? Because of carrier aggregation, your phone may connect to multiple bands simultaneously meaning that even with 1-2 bars displayed it may actually still give fast speeds. It's not the same as for 3G where bars displayed may directly correlate to speeds achieved.

20km from Brisbane for me (North). Swapped to boost for the telstra benefit, and have had far worse - same 1-2 bars, both where i live and further up in Caboolture when i work out there.

Can't say it's been any better than Optus when I've travelled to mountains and out further from the city. For Brisbane region, i do not recommend paying the extra price for it.

For country Victoria it's a must though

    • it is a really good deal no doubt, BUT their coverage is extremely bad. i often get disconnected from calls, sometimes unable to make/receive calls, and slow speed on mobile data. i live in eastern Melbourne suburb (20km from city), using a iPhone 12 pro max, i don't have any issues with other providers except Coles. as one of Optus MVNO (mobile virtual network operator), Coles very likely leased the cheapest/lowest wholesale 4G network, a much smaller version of the Optus 4G network. good deal but not worth the pain, i would AVOID it at all cost, it seems like a common issue if you read here - https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/coles-mobile

  • my boost is expiring and tempted about this but they don't do 5G yet?

    • no 5g and no esim :(

  • is the 200GB definitely on special? In the catalogue it only shows the 120GB for $119, and on the coles mobile site it still shows at $200 for the 200GB?

    • +1

200GB could have been linked to last week's catalogue. If you need something similar, try Catch $150 180GB as it's the same network.

Can this be bought with eglft cards?

    • I'd like to know myself

    • I don't see why you cannot, even flybys dollar can buy this. You just cannot buy gift card using another gift card.

    • Yes. Done this many times.

  • Does anyone know what's the last date to activate the sim?

    • Offer ends 26/09/23, unless withdrawn earlier. Discounted price of $119 applies to SIM purchase which includes a $150 recharge. Ongoing recharges revert to standard price of $150 for 120GB or as otherwise advertised. New services only. Data allowance of 120GB is applied upfront after $119 payment and SIM activation.Activate within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised in a promotion, whichever is earlier, to receive advertised inclusions.

      • Thanks. Does it mean I have to activate the SIM by the 26th of this month? As this date is earlier.

        • yeah safest choice

          • @shxhshzhz: you'll be fine. just activate when you want to.
i activated for partner tonight, it took 20 mins from woolies to coles

    • +2

I chatted to Coles Mobile this morning regarding activate deadline as I was so confused.
here is what they told me:
"Sim cards are valid for up to 2 years, 30 is just a time frame we advise, therefore you do have up to 2 years to activate"

      • This makes much better sense! Thank you.

  • Can we buy this off the shelf at Coles, or we need to order it?
