[eBay Plus] Up to $25 off Variable Final Value Fees on any 3 New Listings (September 2023) @ eBay Australia

1022

Thanks to @bargainhunterjacob for the heads up. Looks like eBay has changed the original offer of 3x 0% FVF and replaced it with a new and worse offer if you sell anything over $200. But anyway, enjoy :)

Activation Link: https://www.rsvp.ebay.com.au/rsvp/signup/1011366/veaa_vMDHIY…

Promotion details:

  • The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEDT) on 1 September 2023 and will be available for a limited time only, for as long as advertised on the eBay.com.au site (“Promotion Period”).
  • The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to a discount of up to $25 (incl. GST) on variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on the sale of 3 Eligible Listings sold during the Promotion Period. “Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:
    • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
    • in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
    • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).
  • The variable fees will be discounted directly from the eBay seller fees applicable to the Eligible Listings when they are sold.
  • This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold prior to the listing renewal, whether by auto-renewal or because the listing is GTC. After this, standard eBay fees will apply.
  • eBay reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time.

Exclusions:

  • Items listed in the following categories are excluded from the Promotion (“Excluded Categories”): Websites & Businesses for Sale (11759), Aircraft (63676), Boats (26429), Caravans, Motorhomes (32633), Cars (29690), Motorcycles (32073), Trucks, Commercial Vehicles (6049), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252), Gift Cards (172009). These Excluded Categories are in addition to any listings or categories restricted by eBay's prohibited and restricted items policies.
  • Eligible Listings will only receive the 0% variable fees until the listing renews, whether by auto-renewal or because the listing is GTC. After this, standard eBay fees will apply.

      • my bad, got used to them starting on the 1st of every month.

  • So if I have 5 of the same items and list a multi quantity listing, does the discounted fee apply to 3 of the same items or all 5 (and only uses 1/3 of the promo)?

    • One redemption per item sold. So hypothetically, if the only thing you list in September is a multi-quantity listing of 5, it’ll only apply to the first 3 that sell.

      • Ok thanks for confirming.

        • +3

          Not quite correct.

          If you list 5, and 3 of them are sold to 3 different buyers, then each of them counts as a separate sale.

          Therefore, the 4th and 5th item in that multi listing will be charged full FVF.

          However, if the same buyer buys more than 1 all at once - then that counts as only 1 sale to the promo.

          Example,

          First buyer buys 3 of your items in that multi listing, Second buyer buys 1, and Third buyer buys 1 —— this will count as 3 sales for the promo and all will get the reduced FVF.

          First buyer buys all 5 of them at the same time —- this will count as only 1 sale and you are free to use 2 and 3 for other listings.

          So I would say, if the item is something that buyers are likely to buy multiples of —- then it's better to list them as a multi listing rather than separate listings.

    • I think it's better to have each item in separate listings. If i remember correctly, multi items in one listing do not qualify for the promotions. Better to be safe than sorry.

      ebay support are useless.

      Who is eligible for this Promotion?
      “Eligible Sellers” means sellers registered on eBay.com.au who:

      have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and
      have an active eBay Plus membership. The eBay Plus Terms and Conditions will apply in respect of your membership;
      have received an invitation from eBay to participate in this promotion;
      have activated the promotion by accepting these Terms and Conditions by either clicking “Accept offer” on this Terms and Conditions page or clicking “Get offer” under the “promotional offers” section of their My eBay account; and
      have received confirmation from eBay that “you’ve accepted the offer”.

  • Company seems like its full of incompetents and morons

  • Usually activated around 10-12pm

    Can confirm that 'sell similar' still works, at least for me.

    • Only sell similar works, do not ever relist

      • Yep, relist stopped working a long time ago. A shame really, it was so much easier.

  • So I wanted to take up this offer. I already had listings from last month's offer which I have ended. Do I have to end all my existing listing and create an entirely new listing? Or can I just go to Unsold section of the page and click on the relist button?

    • +1

      Do not do the last sentence.

      On the listings page, on each of your listings, find a dropdown button and select “sell similar”. This will allow you to create an identical listing under a different item number and thus eligible for the promo.

      Make sure you delete your original listing afterwards to avoid ebay flagging as duplicate.

      • Thanks. Wished I had known. Sold something for $680 and ebay took about $90 in fees

  • Weird, I just sold an item. The FVF was $37.15 but I was only discounted $22.73? (Item value was $290)

    It’s only $2 but I was expecting to see a full $25 discount.

    • +3

      GST?

    • Same

    • Me too. Discounted at $22.73. I can’t contact eBay chat. Has anyone able to launch the chat? Thanks.

  • Any October free listings or half price postage?
