[iOS] ReciMe - Free Lifetime Subscription $0 @ Apple App Store

3200

I’m a co-founder of ReciMe app and I want to help you organise your recipes in one place and import recipes from websites and blogs.

The app is free to download from the Apple app store. To access the free lifetime subscription, follow the steps below:

  • Download ReciMe for free on the Apple app store and sign up. Note: Do not sign up to the free trial after you sign up!
  • From your profile, go to Settings by tapping on the cog wheel icon.
  • Tap ‘Upgrade to ReciMe Plus’ and cancel upgrade. This will take you back to the Settings page. Repeat this process 5 times until you see ‘ReciMe Plus Activated’ pop up.

I’m always looking for feedback to improve the app, so feel free to drop any comments. Or if you’re enjoying the app, I would be so grateful if you could give the app a review! Happy cooking :)

Yes it saves to your account. You should be able to access the subscription on multiple Apple devices, iPhone and iPad included. Please let me know if you have any issues. Happy cooking :)

    • The lifetime sub saves to your account. So you only need to create 1 account and you can use it to sign into multiple devices - iPhone, iPad, even Android!

  • Worked! Thanks. If i delete app and reinstall and login with same account, will i have to repeat the steps? Or the lifetime access is with the account i used to logged in?

    • I'm hoping that it follows your account login details as I had to install it on my work iPhone as my main one is iOS13.5 still.

      • Yep it does follow your account login details!

    • Lifetime access should be for the account you signed up with! You should have lifetime access even if you delete the app. If you delete your account, that would delete the access. Hope that helps :)

  • Why is app access to our photos and videos required? 🤔

ReciMe is a recipe sharing/storage platform and every recipe needs a photo, hence the requirement to access your photos album. I hope that provides some clarity! Feel free to shoot through anymore questions about permissions, accessibility etc

  • Worked, Thanks

    • Sweet, thank you so much!

  • Thanks! Worked.

    Interface seems appealing so far.

If there’s a webpage link copied on the clipboard, App asks if I want to add it as a new recipe. Nice!

Looks slick and easy to use. Looking forward to trying it out some more

    • Awesome, thanks so much for the feedback! Glad you picked up that pop up :) Hope you continue to get some use out of it and feel free to share feedback any time!

  • I tried to add a URL and it seems to get stuck. I will try a different recipe.

    • Sorry about that! The recipe should import if the blog/website is well structured. Hope it works!!

      • I’m happy to put it in manually but I do not have a picture. Next time I make it I will take a photo.

        • Awesome! Hope the experience is seamless :)

  • Thanks OP. It worked.

    • Not a problem, thanks for checking us out!

  • I get stuck on the “never waste food again” screen after signing up

    • So odd! Could you try crash the app and see if you can sign up? Or email us [email protected] so we can help you out

  • Somehow I thought it is a receipt gathering app and was like “yay all my Telstra and electricity bills can be filed properly” until I read the description again

  • I'll probably never use it. Signed up anyway

That's the OZB spirit! Well done!

    • Haha thank you anyway :) If you know anyone who's into cooking & storing recipes, feel free to shoot this their way!

  • Instructions worked well. Look forward to using this :) did have trouble linking my Instagram to my profile it won’t allow save.

    • Awesome! Try closing, then opening the app again to see if you were able to link your instagram to your profile? Sometimes it takes a bit of time to update, sorry about that!

  • Looking forward to using the app and great work on OP replying to people in this post too 👍😎

    • +1

Thanks so much prankster, really appreciate the feedback haha. Send through any feedback here or email me [email protected]! Cheers :)

  • thank you the instructions worked well

    • Awesome, thanks for downloading and happy cooking :)

  • Thanks OP! Will the subscription allow access across Apple and Android devices once Android is available? I'm currently using the CookBook app which gives access across ios, Android and web app.

    • No problem! We don't currently have integration between ios, android and web app. Super cool that Cookbook app does that! What do you like about cookbook app?

      • +1

I use an Android phone so if I need to meal plan on the go or check ingredients at the shops, I have the app available.

Then when I'm cooking, I open the app on my ipad which has a bigger screen.

When I enter recipes or scrape, I use the web app from my laptop as I'm a bit old fashioned and feel the need to use keyboard and mouse to type things in, edit, etc. 😀

        • Thanks for sharing how you use Cookbook app, it's great you use all devices to cook & plan meals.

I have to clarify that you can access all your recipes on iOS, Android and web app on ReciMe! Once you create an account, you can log in to either Android or iOS. Currently on ReciMe, you can only upload recipes on mobile app (iOS or Android), but not on the web - something we can definitely explore because I understand typing can be much easier & faster for some!

  • thanks for the tip. Got the app.

  • Great App! Keen to start using it as detest using Pinterest, speaking of is there a way to import from Pinterest or do I have to manual re-add?

    • +1

Thank you so much! No import from Pinterest available yet, but we do plan on importing from Pinterest & other social media apps. Stay tuned! :)

  • Thank you! The activation process worked fine for me … all the best for a healthy / growing platform!

    • Awesome! Thank you so much for checking us out! Happy cooking :)

  • Thanks! Will try this out, I've been using AnyList recently. A couple features I like in AnyList that are missing here are being able to create multiple custom shopping lists (E.G. "Aldi" and "Coles" list to add different items to). My favorite feature is the list history, in case you accidentally edit the list and you're not sure what you did, you can check the history and fix the list quickly. This has saved me from missing items in the only couple times I've used it shopping. Some things to consider. :)

    • Thanks for sharing what you like about AnyList, we'll definitely consider both ideas to enhance shopping list features! Feel free to email me [email protected] if you have more ideas or feedback. Thanks heaps!

  • Nice app! Havn't tested iPhone but crashes for me on macOS ventura after selecting any recipe -> start cooking -> bottom left button (assuming button should go back to the overview?)

    • Thank you! Sorry about the crashing on macOS - we're looking into it. Shouldn't happen on iPhone. Let me know if you're experiencing any other issues and feel free to email me [email protected] for any feedback :)

  • Thanks and well done! UX is great. I love that I can drag and drop to reorder ingredients in the recipe. Kudos for making it so easy to tap and amend recipe instructions/method.
Have you thought about adding a Meal Planner calendar? I use Copy Me That and the idea is great but UI not great. I’d love a quick view of the meal plan for the week, with ability to click into each recipe. And ability to tick off which recipes or ingredients to add to shopping list. Thanks for designing a great interface

    • Thank you so much! So happy you're enjoying the UX :)
We have received feedback for a meal plan calendar and hope to build it in, stay tuned!

  • Great app OP, I have used paprika for years and is feeling a bit dated, I love the simplicity and extra features of your app! Well done!

    • Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy ReciMe and any ideas to make it better, feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] :)

    Thanks OP 🙏🙏
    Installed. 👍
Really appreciate you taking the time to respond the each Oz Bargain poster individually, without the standard cookie cutter copy paste stuff.
With your attitude you’re bound to kick ar$e.
    All the very best.

    • You're too kind thank you! We honestly appreciate all the feedback and support and will look to develop some of them. Happy cooking :)

Samsung Food (formerly Whisk) does a pretty amazing job and also has a community to find new recipes etc. so this would have to blow my mind for me to consider it a competitor. What are some benefits you see that you think makes it worth switching over from Whisk?

    • Oh Samsung Food / Whisk is incredible! They basically have everything we have but we'll be releasing some differentiating features - stay tuned!

  • as lomg as you dont do what ones like 'PepperPlate' did.
free initially then a couple years later, are youve loaded heaps of recipes on in and rely on it, then they change it to an expensive paid one, and you had to cough up.

    • +2

We don't intend to do that! We're upfront about the cost for premium subscription and the current features on offer: (1) to import unlimited recipes from blogs and (2) uploads to private cookbook. More features will be added too!

  • Great, worked for me thanks, I’ve been using cookbook app, will see how does it compare with that!

  • Doesn't seem to work with Woolworths recipes on iPad (Air 5)..

    Example URL - https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/recipes/pumpkin-and-chick…

    It scrapes no content…

    • +1

Sorry this link didn't work! Some websites, like Woolies, won't work because of the way the data is structured and the way we scrape the recipes. Maybe you could try a different site?

A manual way to upload the recipe (which takes a bit more time), is to copy & paste the block of ingredients & method section and the recipe will format for you.

      • Okay thanks for the tips! 🍽

        • No problem! Our aim is to cater for all types of websites, in time !

  • Had a quick look. Not a bad app. Going to be great when library grows. Doing a deep dive next few days.

    • Appreciate it, thanks so much! Keen to hear your thoughts!

  • Thank you so much for:-
    - your creation;
    - my use, misuse and abuse of aforementioned;
    - providing an actually efficient and productive app; and,
    - the absolutely free lifetime subscription to ReciMe Plus!
    🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  • A cool idea might be to be able to add a recipe using image to text on your phones camera. It might not work with bad hand writing but it could scan and add the recipe from a printed one.

    • Great idea, thanks for sharing! This is definitely on the cards. Hope you enjoy ReciMe :)

  • thanks for sharing OP been wanting something like this to consolidate, looking forward to having everything in one place. Keep up the good work, are you intending to keep this free lifetime access open for a while?

    • Not a problem! For a while as this is new and we're gathering feedback :)

  • +1

Going through the app and I want to be able to select a particular diet under the Dietary tab and have that stick. Is there a preference that I missed somewhere so I don't have to select each time

    • Thanks for checking us out. This isn't available at the moment but I've added it to our backlog!

  • thank you! I tried creating from a recipe link and when I tap the box it doesn't come up with the option to paste like in other iOS apps- I have to hold down my finger for it to work!
Also would love integration into Instagram, as that's where I follow all my food creators on :)

    • No problem! Which recipe apps have the option to paste? I'd love to check it out. That's awesome, we're building out importing from instagram right now and it should be released soon, stay tuned! :)

      • Hi I mean that all iOS apps I've used I can just tap the text box and it pops up with the option to copy/paste.. but for some reason when I go to import recipe from website and it asks for the recipe link, I have to hold down my finger for that box to pop up (but it doesn't have that same issue in the search bar!)

  • I’m really enjoying the app so far. I’d recommend to my friends immediately but I’ll hold off for now as it seems you are in an ironing out phase for your app. I hate having to scroll through mountains of ads and stupid life stories every time I pull up a recipe!!! I remember back when recipe blogs didn’t have this, it made cooking something so much more fun without the tedious barrier to entry. This app has everything in one place and pulls up what I need quickly and clearly, I’m excited to use it.

I’ll comment again as I use it more, so far I’m importing my bookmarked recipes in.

    • Thanks so much and glad you're enjoying! We'll always be improving the app so feel free to share with friends if they're into cooking / storing recipes. Great to see you import lots of bookmarked recipes. Feel free to email me [email protected] if you have any questions or feedback at all!

  • Thanks. this app is great!

    • Cheers!! Happy cooking :)

  • Hi There

Great deal, and a great app. Really enjoying it

One suggestion, as I have not been able to find a setting, is that I would like to be able to search my recipes.

I have quite a lot of recipes saved, and to be able to search them would make it much easier to find them.

Perhaps if the explore tab also let you search within your own recipe catalogue?

    • Thanks so much, hope you continue to enjoy!
We just released a new version (2.7.4) which allows you to search within the 'Cookbooks' tab. Search by 'recipe title' and you'll be able to find your recipes.
Let me know what you think?
Also feel free to drop me a note at [email protected] for more detailed feedback or feature ideas. Always happy to hear!

  • Recipes? I can see why you'd store them on an app, after all, it's not like there are any recipes on that interweb thingy.
