WGA says take your offer and shove it Disney.

150%. Screw studio execs for trying to starve everyone who makes film/TV content.

Disney is no longer the old funny kids friendly cartoon. It’s facing closing down. Linked to paedophilia news.

  • Too expensive. Turkey Disney only around $35 for the whole year.

Pathetic reading replies with woke in a sentence.

    • +6

      Yours also has that word…

    • +7

Correlation doesn't equal causation but I've never heard anyone intelligent use the term 'woke'.

    • Pathetic to comment on anything really. Even worse if you read comment my god

    • +5

replies with woke in a sentence.

There's nothing else they can do but throwing the meaningless word around :D

    • -2

Pathetic reading replies with woke in a sentence.

It's amazing how this word brings out the salt in the I-support-the-current-thing demographic. "NPCs hate this one trick!"

      • It's not amazing how easily led immature rwers are, nor how narrow minded and unaware they are in general.

On a trial now. As far as Marvel/Star Wars/Pixar goes - they have almost everything.

Outside that, they have a few choice offerings but its a very limited catalogue. I know its targeted at kids, but I was expecting a little more to keep adults engaged too.

Best I've seen so far is "The Bear" and the Matildas version of Drive to Survive.

They sacked Gina Cerano for having an opinion. They can go to buggery.

    • -1

They sacked her for being a transphobe

      • Last straw in her case.

    Stream the little mermaid 😂

    • “A Whole New Wooooorld”

What? Does Disney release a new movie called The Little Aladdin?

If you didnt get the email here is the social link for the same deal https://www.disneyplus.com/en-au?cid=DSS-Social-FBIG-2854936…

Thanks so much. I didn't get the email but link it works for me.

Perfect timing. I usually only subscribe one month at a time during school holidays.

Will start my subscription next week to finish off the LA Lakers Documentary and also start watching Ahsoka.

I really hate how commenters feel the need to air their political views on almost every Ozbargain post. People, this is a deal site not the comment section of Daily Mail or The Sydney Morning Herald (had to mention both publications to appease both sides otherwise I'm sure there would be another 100 comments arguing that point)

  • This is better — https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/118829/106344/screensh…

    Essentially 6-months free.

(but you need a US Amex card).

  • I received the email yesterday and re-subscribed to it just now. But my account still shows $13.99/month and my next payment will be charged on Oct 7. So weird! Does anyone have the same issue?

    • +2

Just figured out why I only received 1 month subscription instead of 3.

I am currently overseas and use VPN to access Australian websites, and I guess Disney+ detected that I am not actually in Australia, so I am not qualified with the offer which states for Australian residents only… :'(

Really want to watch Justified: City Primeval. But not sure I can feel right about paying for this given how they've gotten rid of physical media.

    • Watched the first couple of eps but meh. Script might as well have been AI generated.

    • Did you want to buy the whole expensive DVD set and have it sat around forever rather? Hook up your DVD player to any device you feel like playing it on?

I just can't figure out what the outrage is about not having obsolete media sat around gathering dust.

But if it's too much knowing you can't buy the DVD's just pirate it… arrr. Screw the IP whores where it hurts. xD

      • +2
        1. I have morals and don't want to pirate. If we all pirate shows then there is no incentive for them to make good media.
        2. Streaming services are well known for removing content and upping prices. There are plenty of good movies and shows you just can't watch anymore.
        3. I think I'm still healthy enough to be able to get back up off the couch and put a DVD into the player
        • -1
          1. If you've paid for a subscription your morals are clear and free if you want to download online copies for posterity
          2. Your guilt free 1's and 0's can be stored on your NAS or other logical storage, they don't have to go in an ever growing pile of plastic that rarely gets touched.
          3. If getting up off the couch is your idea of exercise you're buggered anyways

If people were buying DVD's they would keep selling them, but it's a dying format. When it comes to Disney it's all about the money. It's not an attack on consumer rights to stop selling them.

Like really, I don't care. I think Disney is scum, but I also think the majority of people having a tanty about not being able to buy Disney DVD's weren't actually buying them anyway… otherwise there would be a profitable market and the company wouldn't be shutting it down.

    FYI

This is a world wide offer. But the discounts differ.
The US and Uk are getting a 75 discount on their three monthly offer. We are are getting less.

  • When I signed up - Rakuten cashback poped up - I accepted then continue with subscription payment. Later, Rakuten confirmed the shopping trip and the cash back will be in my account in a week, but not sure if I actually get any cashbacks at all, I'm expecting nothing.

  • Expires today?

    • ^Offer valid until 11:‌59 PM on 20‌/9/‌23.

  • I thought they stream Godfather of Harlem, only to find out they don't after signup.

  • Noting the deal expires today (20 Sept), i just renewed my subscription for the 3 months @ $13.99. I then cancelled immediately to avoid the auto-renew. Cancellation msg says my subscription will expire on 20 Oct, so only 1 month. I contact Chat to verify if this is correct or not. Turns out by cancelling I have voided the promo. They gave a refund, but i would have liked the original deal. Bit dodgy in my opinion.
