Rumour is it’ll be based on the iPhone 14 design, which seems likely give the SE’s so far have leveraged previous models form factors. Depends on whether you want the more capable device with a (likely) 6.1” screen or if the smaller size of the mini is a must have. I assume people after a mini already passed on the 6.1” models so the next SE isn’t likely to fit the bill, other than there being possibly no other option in the future.
100%, I've had both, and the cooling system is significantly better in the 13 mini resulting in good battery life (could leave the house without a power bank lol) and a phone that actually worked in summer.
I've not owned a 12, but my 13 mini's cooling is not good. Like when I'm using it uder the sun (only around 20 degrees), it will be hot and you can feel it. I have to take off the case for it to ventilate better. Even my years old Huawei mate 9 has better cooling than the mini, just crazy! And when its hot the battery drains fast :( But yea I've heard many people saying that battery is a big improvement from 12 to 13 mini.
Upgraded from 12 mini to 13 mini yesterday. Slight performance improvement, battery should be noticeably better and the screen is brighter. No options left if you want another mini phone regardless.

my partner got exactly iphone 13 mini and has been struggled with the battery life after one year of use (moderate use without gaming etc, cannot last 1 day charge)
upgraded to iphone 14 few months ago and couldn't be happier (while its newer, one charge last her 2 days)
smart phone batteries will only deteriorate over time and the issue of iphone minis with small battery capacity will become even obvious after a year or so

just sharing my own (partner) experience that I (and maybe some people) don't aware about the battery issue when getting the phone
in apple official documentation, 17hours (iphone 13 mini) vs 20hours (iphone 14) video playback seems not much of an issue on paper
but real world experience is worse in iphone 13 mini, especially after using over a year
the battery issue has out weighed the portability benefit of iphone 13 mini (at least for me)
For those on the iPhone mini. Might have to go samsung flip at this point. There is no other flagship phone that is mini size like the 12/13 mini.

Yes the 512GB is OOS. Now there's still 256GB Starlight for $1099. Not a great deal compared to this, but it's not bad compared to $1047 for 128GB one
Got the 12 mini deal from Amaysim previously, everything is good but the screen size is so small that I feel my eyes are degrading… I think I’ll get the standard size iPhone next time.

Yeah, mine has been great. Actually have never gone below 20% on the battery, although I'm not a gamer. Love the size, great for work as I hate carrying big phones in my pockets.

I own one courtesy of the amaysim deal and I think it's fine. I disagree with almost everything you said, screen 30 hz?? Can't use apps?? You clearly must have broken yours as mine has served me fine. I use all the apps I need and I've never gone below 20% battery in a day( charge to full each night).

I’ll be using my 13 mini until either software stops running on it because I can’t get OS updates, or they bring out another mini.
I honestly think even the mini is too big. I remember back in high school I had a Galaxy Nexus (which ironically has an even smaller screen than the mini) and kids were hanging crap on me for how big it was.

I think there's been an increased demand for the mini eversince Apple stopped making them. They are no longer sold at the Apple store either. Cheapest I could find recently was $1047 for 128GB.
