              • @congo: Maybe there is a way to infer if Elon is smart?

                • @trapper: Yes, we can say that he has made a lot of $$$ so we can infer that he is smart.
But its not 100% true, because making money is not a requirement for being smart.

. He's worshipped, cos he's mega rich, and hand feeds the grovellers what they want to hear. He has enabled the worst of human behaviour , when he could have saved us from ourselves.
He has zero humility. He thinks empathy is the name of a techno band.

  • I still can't believe Musk has TEN kids. That's just crazy at the age of 52. How can you become close to all of your children when you have that many?

    • With any luck he will neglect to be involved in their upbringing. I think all the kids is another manifestation if his crazy ideology.

      • Who is the mother of the 10th child? According to Wikipedia, he had: 5 with Justine Wilson, 2 with Grimes, and 2 with Shivon Zilis. That's only 9…

        • +1

          3 with Grimes

Recent announcement - the child's name is Techno Mechanicus

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: His kids all deserve a billion dollar trust fund as compensation for the names he gives them.

            • @shaybisc: They will be inheriting a lot more than a billion each, hopefully will make up for all the crazy names haha

    • +1

thats the trick, he isnt close to any!

    • Ten children was not unusual only a few generations ago. If you can afford it, why not.

Hopefully he has another ten, more chance of someone inheriting his genius.

  • Elon Muscovite “Go (profanity) Yourself”

    • So you bought the book?

  • +6

Thanks. He's the greatest entrepreneur in our lifetime

Did Steve Jobs get this much hate as well? Regardless of his personal life, and how ppl get offended by his trolling, the man revolutionised multiple industries. No one is perfect, but he has done more for the world than everyone here on ozb.

    • +7

A lot of people just skim past news headline and form a grudge on him. None of these people even think why Bill Gates, although visited Epstein's island numerous times gets minimal hate from media compared to Musk, because Gates is on their team.

The fact that majority of people here has such a strong opinion on him without really looking into his life goal and what he has achieved so far signals a strong warning to our society. Stop believing whatever you're fed to people. Was covid/vax not enough.

“I reinvented electric cars and I'm sending people to Mars on a rocket ship,” Musk said. “Did you think I was going to be a chill, normal dude?

      • +4

Calling people out for blindly following the media but then cites Gates. Good one….

        Gosh you types are insufferable.

      • +4

Gates paid journalist via his foundation. His affair with one of the engineers wasn’t leaked and many Articles written by the business insider glorified BG as a saviour to our mankind. It makes people think he was a great man.
Musk on the other hand was attacked by the left wing liberals when he decided to take Trump back to Twitter/ X.
I guess many readers are so naive to trust main stream media.

    • Jobs was not the attention seeker that Musk is. Outside of his role as CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs didn't really seek the public spotlight. The general public would mostly not be aware of Job's role in founding Pixar Studios which eventually made him the largest individual shareholder in Disney corporation when Disney purchased Pixar. Jobs largely kept his political views private.

      • +2

If you hate someone because of that person's political view that says a lot about you

        • +1

A person's political view says a lot about themselves and the opinions and treatment that show to others.

          • +3

@Gehirn: Someone with a different political view than you can still be a net positive to our society

            • @bargainboyzz: I didn't say otherwise, only added that you can dislike someone due to views they hold that reflect their treatment of others.

          • +2

@Gehirn: I can't believe you would dislike someone just for being a fascist!

    • Did Steve Jobs get this much hate as well?

He sure did. One thing you will learn is that being some people need to feel offended to give them a sense of purpose in their otherwise meaningless lives.

  • +2

I think Elon needs the money for overpaying for Twitter.

  • +3

Id pay $99 to read about such a genius

    • -1

I'd consider taking out a second mortgage to see Connor MacGregor give Musks' smarmy, re-manufactured, hair-implanted pumpkin a shorter wheel base

  • +4

Geniuses not following the doctrines somehow are hated by many ordinary people.

    • -4

Not a genius.Opportunist.Big difference. Timing is everything.
And so is being rich enough to employ real geniuses, who do the real work to deliver the goods. In this case tech.

      • +4

The lead rocket scientist said in an interview that Musk had a very high level of technical knowledge on rockets and technical stuff in general. It was Musk in the early days of the company who figured out they could build the rockets themselves after Russia rejected their request to buy rockets. But it looks like you're deeply entrenched in your views - likely another victim of the mind-virus that tells people who to hate and what opinions to copy-paste. I guess that might reduce your own cognitive effort, freeing you up to do other things like eat, watch tv, etc.

        • -4

LOL, banal ad hom, says more about your cognitive condition than mine, old bean.
Musk remembers stuff he reads. Go figure.

As if Musks obsequious minions are going to say he's a sociopathic tantrum throwing ultra vain control freak.
Are you NOT deeply entrenched in your OWN viewpoint right now? Or is that invested.
          Got a Tesla yet?

      • +4

Not a genius.Opportunist.Big difference. Timing is everything.

Yeah yeah it was all just luck… it should've been you! That's what you tell yourself to get to sleep at night lol…

      • +2

Funny how every other opportunist failed to do what he's done. Bezos tried to do it, Branson tried to do it, both failed but both had equally as much if not more capital to be "opportunistic". Funny how all the other massive car companies are unable to do what he's done. I'm sure that he just picked the perfect "opportunity" and has exactly nothing to do with his intelligence. You must be very flexible with all the mental gymnastics you need to hold your views.

        • -1

Oh I see. Opportunist and persistent. Throw enough cash around and some day, ya never know. Don't think Musk didn't use the same smart engineers etc from earlier attempts and all the scraping of info he could get.

  • -1

With Steve Jobs sweat shops and Bill Gates thieveries, Elon Musk must be the new god of the 21st Century and beyond.

  • +1

Looks like a lot of pages just to say “he’s a giant douche canoe”.

  • -4

considering elon has lied about absolutely everything, I wonder how many lies will be in this book?
this book will be worth less than the paper it's printed on

    • -2

      A.I made it all up.
Amber Heards book will be much more cerebral and interesting.

    • This isn’t an autobiography

  • +2

Musk has been involved in some interesting technologies but he also has some unpleasant extreme views. Given the areas of technology he is working in the latter tend to be detrimental to the bottom line of the former. He then precedes to attack everyone else rather than getting some introspection. If you have been a dominant player in an industry, and your personality puts people off buying your product, then you open the door for your competitors. It might take them a while to ramp up but the foot is in the door.

    • What unpleasant extreme views?

  • -1

Big W? Will there be complaints about having it on the shelves?

From a book about multiple genders to one with an agenda.

  • +1

Elon Musk is the most prolific charlatan and scammer of our generation. The fact that he's still going shows how Idiocracy was not so much a comedy but rather a vision of the future when it was made.

  • -2

Some clever entrepreneur should scan the cover and set up a dunny paper business based on Musks face.
They would catch up to Musks fortune in no time.
Of course it may mean complete deforestation of the earth in the process, such would it's popularity be

  • +1

Aren't his tweets enough to know him?

  • -1

The EPUB will be on Google soon, not that most would want to bother reading it anyway lol

    spaceship man bad

  • Don't forget to report the invalid negative votes

  • +2

Who buys this? People who listen to Rogan?

    • +2

People who thinks rockets and EVs are cool?

    • +2

Those who resonate with Musk, are middle-class, engineers/scientists or passionate about science who work hard to achieve something.

    • +2

I'll tell you who doesn't buy this; quintuple vaxxed, Marvel watching, Funko pop owning, globalist propaganda consoooomers.

      • Pls put down the culture war crack pipe

  • Work hard? He was given everything on a silver platter.

    • +3

Don’t believe anything written by the journalist who don’t bother to investigate. The only thing that help Elon musk was his Canadian citizenship inherited from his mother. Part of his education was presumably funded by his disgruntled father. Apart from that I would say self made including zip2 funding where his Canadian investor help.

    • +1

Let me guess. The family left South Africa (pockets full) cos "we condemn Aparthied".

Nice fairy tale. Very popular one

  • yeah, total fake, don't need a book to know that lol

  • This must be the businessman’s guide to getting the most subsidies off the American Gov to fund your car factory in china ?
Then sell your Chinese made cars to the world ,
while pushing the American innovation Theme ,
while also pushing giant stainless steel rockets up using methane fuel to rubbish the sky with micro satellites ,
when lightweight carbonfibre was too hard to achieve .

    Short Memories…

    Great book thanks OP
