  • Great deal on the wireless adapter.

Did xbox discontinue sales of the wireless adapter by itself?

  • +2

I'd reckon that the Xbox Wireless controller with USB adapter is the best deal of the lot. As isn't the genuine adapter now hard to find and expensive on it's own?. Great deal.

    Whats Gerry's practices?

    • +7

      Being a rich scumbag, usually.

    • +12

Being dedicated to anti-competitive, anti-consumer practices no matter the cost so he can, as Aeongrave said, continue to be a rich scumbag.

e.g. having a huge whinge about international businesses not paying GST, to the point the government caved and enforced GST on imports. Which costs more to enforce than we end up paying in taxes, while reducing competition in the Australian market ensuring prices can stay high, but so long as old mate feels safe it's worth it.

I agree. It's a very inefficient tax. I also blame the head of the retailer's association which lobbied for this tax in the first place!

  • Good timing but i hate the white back of those

  • Anyone know where to price match that pink one?

  • yeah got the blue shock one for free from telstra using points.

  • Dammit i just bought an adaptor. I could have used another controller anyway.
FYI for all those who asked, i paid $30 on ebay.

    • with wireless adaptor?

Thanks OP got the Adapter one for $64 with Perks from JB

    • same here such a steal!

  • Probably a dumb question but here it goes. Does the adapter works on windows 11? Planning to buy the controller so I can play from the big TV on the couch haha

    • Yes

    • Yeah, it does. But mine shit itself recently. So need a new one. So i ordered one with the control. Probably give the controller to my nephew. I have 2 XSX and 2 elite 2 already. No need for a 5th

For those who don't know, you don't need the adapter to connect the controller to PC. The adapter just reduces latency. If you're not a hardcore competitive player, it's very unlikely that you'd notice the difference.

    • Oh interesting! Do you connect it wirelessly through Bluetooth mate without the adapter?

      • Yep, easily connects without an adapter. Your PC needs to have Bluetooth though.

        • +2

Bluetooth sucks for latency. It was never developed with game controllers in mind.

You will want to use the official Microsoft Wireless USB adapter. It uses its own proprietary low latency wireless connection that's designed for the controller and gaming.

@hollykryten: I have the adapter, and to be honest, every time I remove it for whatever reason and forget to plug it back in, I don't even notice the difference and think it's still plugged in.

    • Ive been trying to use the bluetooth on my pc but it keeps dropping out. Never had issues with the adapter

    • Thanks I'm a casual gamer so don't need to stress about the adapter now!

    • +1

You will probably notice the reliability though. The adaptor ALWAYS works and connects super fast. Bt not so much.

  • Would any of these be suitable for the Xbox cloud thing for Samsung tvs?

  • Will this work on an Amiga 500 mini??

Bit of an obscure question I know..

  • +1

I had my local JB Hi Fi price match for the black controller with wireless dongle - very happy with that price! They also have white controllers for $59 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/xbox-wireless-controller-…

  • Harvey Norman=$74 for dongle in black color
Costco=$59 for black and white only wireless not aith dongle

I just bought from Harvey Norman.. no issues

  • Price match with jbhifi 89 down to 74 then sign up for jb rewards and get $10 off. $64 wireless controller with dongle for the price of one without the included dongle.
