    • Yes, I hope someone can clarify this.

    • Looking for this answer too

    • You could save even more when you trade in your current device. With Apple Trade In, just give us your eligible device and if you are buying your iPhone outright or with a BYOD plan, you could get credit towards your new iPhone.”

This is what it says on the Apple carrier offers site. I’m planning to bundle this offer with trading in my 12 pro max.

    • +3

Yes trade in does apply on top of this offer

    • trade in is a separate process. so afaik yes.

    • I’d like to know this too!

  • -1

when will the regular 15 drop to $1,200? would it be like half life 6 months from launch date?

    • Ask Apple or Vodafone for that as no one here will be able to give you a straight answer anyway as it depends on a lot of factors incl demand.

    • Possibly this time next year

    • +2

Look at iPhone 14 price now. :)

    • Generally, the prices of the current gen phones don’t drop in price until a new phone release, so you’re unlikely to see it drop.

We do price match with some competitors though up to 10%, but keep in mind you can’t stack price matching with any other offer like this voda deal.

      • i just missed the amazon deal on the 15 plus for 1499 :/

  • Do you have to go to the Apple Store prior to the launch of the iPhone 15 to get this deal?

    • +1

You can pre order online without having to pay for it by reserving stock on the order page.

It says “ Buy iPhone 15 Pro with a Telstra, Optus or Vodafone plan at an Apple Store. Reserve now” on top of the order page and allows you to select what store you want to go to and complete the contract.

Then on the day you have the stock reserved and are able to get the deal.

  • I’m almost certain that it was $1100 discount on Wednesday, but I can’t find any evidence to confirm.

  • +1

FYI iPhone 15 comes with USB2.0 while the 15 Pro is 3.0

    • +3

iphone 14 pro max also came with usb2 speeds, didnt seem to be a big deal for many people.. the normal 15 is such good value tho. but apple and their marketing team know how to suck you in to spend those extra bucks..

  • +1

I can’t imagine 2 yrs with vodafone at work. Working without signal. If only! 🤣🤣

  • +1

Can you bring your old iphone in and get credit?
I have a iPhone 13 Pro and would love to upgrade.

    • Yes you should be able to

    • +2

Yes you can even trade in your old phone 14 days after purchase if you wanna transfer your data first. Just come back to the store and a credit will be applied to your original payment method.

      • a dumb question…. if I pay the iphone with half gift card and half debit card, what the refund will be ? still half apple credit and half bank credit ?

        • Depends. If the trade in value < amount you paid on debit card, then you'll receive the refund back to your debit card.

    • what upgrade feature from 13 Pro to 15 Pro are you expecting? Not sure if there is anything major.

      • I use the camera a lot for work, but my charging connection is playing up. I think it’s got lint in it so can only charge off wireless charging. It’s still under warranty but if I walk in with a 13 and come home with a 15 it’s worth it.

        • May I ask what kind of the need for camera in your work that ip 13 Pro can not suffice? but 15 Pro can.

          • @OrangeBJ: After using my missus 14 pro for video and photo editing I got better results from what I have.

        • Dig out the lint with a plastic tooth pick

    • Yes

  • got 1

  • Reception anxiety but feels like this is the only carrier deal going.
I’m thinking to jump on this since on a Optus $40 per month plan.
I’m wanting to trade in 12PMax and use Apple gift card balance as well tied to my iCloud or Apple account etc.

My reception anxiety I think I can deal with but I was thinking I currently use Optus via an eSIM and have my old jbhifi Telstra sim still in there that shows off the reception etc, perhaps a data sim or one of those cheap year long or few months at a time sims and have both… I think it was more telecom had a few months free..

Dose voda still have the reception guarantee? I’m doubtful they would offer with the $1k off etc

    • Where do you use your phone. Do you ever go regional or rural?

Vodafone in most cases for most people should be fine.

      • not really rural, but just saying if i did i'd have the 2nd sim for that, maybe a year long data sim on the cheap for optus/telstra.. sure it'd be an extra cost that sucks but data is importnat for what i do so prob small cost to reward. I'd be sad to not get my ozbargain updates when i go country..

    • +1

For this deal, Voda doesn’t include the network guarantee, so if you aren’t happy with their reception, you still have to stick with the plan.

      • There is a 30 day network guarantee for this deal

        • Where are you seeing this, just curious?

It’s generally the case that these BYOD deals through the Apple Store are all exempt from the guarantee as you are given a credit to use in store at Apple towards the phone.

  • How does Vodafone compare to Optus? Do these plans “include” 5G now or are they still as add on?

    • It is with 5G. If you're in the city or inner city areas, you'll be fine. However there are certain spots (particularly highly densed areas) where data just doesn't work despite reception indicate otherwise. If you go underground parking (e.g. one level down from ground), it'll be the first to go while Telstra may still get a working service albeit slower.

  • +1

I'd be interested to know whether the invoice comes with the full price of the iPhone Pro since I'm going to salary sacrifice this.

    • +2

I got this same deal last year and the invoice only show after $1000 discount so not full price.

      • How about trade in credit? Say iPhone is $2000, I get $1000 discount from voda, and I trade in my old iPhone for $500. Can I salary sacrifice $500 or $1000?

        • I believe the invoice will only show the final price after everything is taken into account. However I have not done a trade-in before.

  • personal experience - vodafone reception is so bad in wynyard/martin place area (Sydney)

  • +1

Vodafone reception is terrible in Melbourne CBD and at my workplace (big public hospital), would be a no brainer if the deal was with a Telstra carrier…

  • +2

Nah, pass. Prepaid sim plan won't cost you more than 300 a year

  • +4

Hint: reserve your phone online first before coming into the store https://reserve-prime.apple.com/AU/en_AU/reserve/A/availabil…

    • This is the information I was looking for 4 hours ago but apple support had closed! I asked Vodafone and they said I needed to pay in full upfront for the credit to be applied. I ended up purchasing the phone in full, hoping that when I pick it up this deal can be applied and perhaps I get partially refunded.

    • Can’t reserve for Friday or Monday? The only two days I’m actually able to go to the store. Rip

    • Can’t select any 15 pro max to reserve at all in Brisbane? Does that mean we’ve already missed out on doing this deal?

      • Yep. Dropped in today and the staff said they're basically sold their launch allotment of all Max. All of the 128GB (base) Pros are gone, too. It's a 3-4 week wait for more stock. It's annoying, because JB and all the carriers seemingly have plenty of stock for launch day of everything.

        • Damn that sucks… did they say if there would be any stock allocated for people who line up when the stores open on launch day?

          • @dwhes: I wouldn’t bet on it if you line up, most likely will end up with nothing. We don’t really get word on if there are stock for walk-ins but as per last year’s launch, generally the best way was a pre order online or stock reservation online.

            • @yeahnahnahyeah: Damn. Seems I’m out of luck then as no pro max stock is appearing near me at all to reserve.

              • @dwhes: Keep an eye on the site every few hours, preferably at night, as that seems to be when they had more stock to the systems.

                • @yeahnahnahyeah: Can we still get this preorder deal when stock comes back in 3-4 weeks? there are no more 15 pro max.

    • I reserved the pro model since pro max was out of stock but decided to get it directly from Vodafone since they had stock so now in order to cancel my reservation I have to charge my damn old iphone 5s to use Apple app, why apple makes it so hard to cancel the reservation and why apple store stocks are so low..

    • For now there is no reserve available for the Max. Serious supply/demand issues with it. Interesting.

  • Voda 5gee is garbage in most places even in Sydney

  • -1

as long as you don't go to regional often.

    Or city in my experience.

Just done a month on Voda prepaid with a phone that supports 5G. It was awful - Google assistant issues driving due to connection issues, majority of train trips with slow or no data.

  • Could i use a VF sim and a Telstra eSim, and switch to the eSim when VF give me bad reception? Is tht how eSims work?

    • +1

Yes. You can choose a sim to use data from, and also have automatic switching when one network becomes poor.

  • -2

Vodafone, that’s a no from me lol.

    • If I sign up a new service and port in a number from another carrier will I be a “new customer” for the purposes of this deal. I have a voda contract ending 23Sept?
    • Can I combine a trade in with this deal?
    • Is this available on launch day or in the week after? it says preorder, but there isn’t really a way to preorder with this deal, only reserve a phone and do it later
    • +2

      1) No, you will be classed as an existing customer due to your current contract even if the number you are porting is with someone else. The new customer deal would only apply if it was ported to a new account under someone else’s name.

      2) Yes, you can combine any of these Voda deals with Trade In and it stacks.

      3) Available on launch day if you reserve the stock for launch through the Apple website.

      • Will only let me reserve for Sat/Sun, but I’m interstate on the weekend. What would happen if I reserve for Sun night and then show up on Monday morning? Can apple staff update the reservation if I drop in during the week and tell them I’ll actually come Monday?

        • Generally reservations get auto cancelled 3 hours after the allocated time you picked. We can’t manually change the reservation unfortunately, but we can make a new reservation if there is stock for the device you want on the day.

  • A newbie trying to understand if the deal is worth it.
When I switch to Vodafone + my trade in: I pay $260 for the new phone.
The package is, 69 * 12 = 828 (This is $20 extra to what I'm paying with Optus) so after 12 months I would then need to pay $414 to terminate the contract early?
    Is the above worth it?

    • As per t&c you would pay 414+ 1000/24*12 = 914

      • Right I missed that point, so if I was to terminate early in 12 months. This deal isn't for me I reckon.

  • What’s the cancellation fee if you cancel before the 24 months? Actually a really good deal. But I swore I would never go back to Vodafone.

    Edit: sorry saw the T&cs.

Hmm Apple will give me $1060 for my 14 pro max trade in. Literally cost me $139 to upgrade with this deal. But I have to move from Telstra to Vodafone.. and spend an extra $20 a month compared to the $49 I’m paying right now. But still very tempting..

  • +2

If you don’t need so much data, it’s always way cheaper to buy an iPhone with a price match, discounted gift cards etc then go on a yearly plan with boost or something.

  • +1

So many upvotes for a Vodafone deal….woah

  • I’ve got iPhone 14 Pro 512GB upgrading to iPhone 15 Pro 512GB will cost me close to $1400. Is it worth upgrading through apple trade in?
My battery doesn’t even last the entire day and health showing 92% 7 month old phone.

Can anyone recommend what options I have for an upgrade?

    • So should I upgrade or leave it?

    • Yes you can trade in and access this deal. Depending on the condition you can get up to $1075 for that model trade in.

    • You will get a potential discount of $2075 depending on condition for a new iPhone. Then you will pay $69/75pm for 24 months ($1656). So all up it will cost you $324 out of pocket to upgrade the handset, plus $1656 for the plan over 2 years. So all up, you’ll be shelling out $1980 and getting a 1 gen upgrade on your phone. Your call if it’s worth it

  • +1

The trade-off is that you have Vodafone as a carrier. There's a reason they're so desperate to sign people up, and it's because so many people leave after experiencing what they're like. Myself included.

    • What was your experience and how recently? I left 15 years ago and swore to never go back but this is definitely tempting me… just tried a prepaid sim and getting great reception and 5G at home. But want to do more testing this week.

      • +1

It varies, you can try using Kogan's cheap first month sim offer to test out. I have been using Kogan for many years until this year only because they stopped offer the $2 sim deal but for me their speed and connectivity is pretty decent, Syndey CBD (close to townhall) area and M2 and to Hills district.

        • Yeh trying a prepaid Vodafone sim atm to test and so far the coverage is good around me. Need to do a bit more testing over the next week before launch to see what it’s like in all the places I go. Definitely nervous about moving back to Vodafone from Telstra. Especially given this is for 24 months. But $1000 off on top of a good trade in offer, is pretty hard to pass up.

      • There is a 30 day network guarantee that Vodafone offers for this deal

        • From reading the Vodafone network guarantee page it doesn’t apply to byod plans, which is what these are.

          • @dwhes: That's what I initially suspected as well - but I asked on live-chat and in-store and both confirmed that it is available for these plans.

            • @marcus84: Hmm I might go on live chat and get that in writing then too. So that I have a leg to stand on if the coverage is poor and I want to get out. As I don’t believe they’re meant to apply here. Especially given you’re getting $1000 off the phone. I imagine you’d have to pay back that $1000 or return to Apple within 14 days as per their policy.

  • There's no stock for pro Max, not gonna get this deal anyway

  • Apple has dropped the pro max 128gb. So pro max comes only 256/512/1tb

  • Just wondering does Apple generate invoice the date you preorder or when shipped?

Heading overseas late Dec so still have to wait another month to be within 60 days.

    • +1

For an online order, you generally get the invoice by email as soon as it has been dispatched/shipped from past experience.

  • I'm using Vodafone network now. I think their 5G signal is bad, with only 1 or 2 bars very often. It's like this whenever I'm in the office (City of Sydney), or at home in Northern Sydney. My phone is iPhone 14. I think I'll move to another provider after my contract ends.

  • Is it cheaper if you get the iphone15 pro max 256gb via apples Latitude card for 24months and get a Telstra 365days prepaid simcard if you are always connected to the wifi when you are at home/office?

    $69/mo seems way expensive.

    • Latitude charge monthly fees as well as set up fees i think.

      • Yes, they charge monthly fees.

    • I have made my calculations.

If you take this deal, the total is $2856. (Without Latitude card)
      If you buy outright with 15% gift card + 2 of 365days Coles Prepaid SIM Card (2 x $200), the total is $2270. That's a $586 discount!

  • i am confused do i have to pay for vodafone plan only or there will be extra device charge on top of these plans
I was planning to go with Optus student plan 39$ 100gb data for 1 year + device charge obviously

    • You buy the iPhone outright from apple with $1000 off the price. After also at the same time signing up for a $69 a month plan for 24 months. So no there will not be any device charges but you’ll need to pay the remainder of the iPhone price at purchase.

      • I’m not surprised to see you’re confused when you typed $39 as 39$.

    • have you sign up with optus student plan?
