        haha clever thinking, but this wont work. The ATO would argue that it's a hobby and the income not assessable. Therefore any tax deduction associated with that non-deductible.

      I'm with you, but then I saw a pretty compelling counterargument that said Sony would have to be epic-level stupid to announce a new console right before the holiday season unless they had stock ready to go, but given announcements by component suppliers (e.g. AMD) on their supply levels and shipments, there's buckley's of that.

      More likely they're trying to push hardware units now to spur software sales through the holiday period.

      You'll need to swap one of them for an Eb gift card and then you should be fine to use a gift card and one of the ultimate gift cards for the balance

          The gift card will be used as a if it is a bank card, so they won't let you split it online so you'll need to swap for an ebgames gift card with one of the ultimate gcs. This is for online only of course, in store I am sure it'll be fine to split over 2 cards

              @Circly: Not sure if it is an option on the ultimate gift card website, but possibly there. Otherwise you can try to buy an ebgames gift card on ebgames website and use one of your ultimate gcs to pay for it. If that doesn't work, then buying an ebgames gift card in store is your last option

    Did this last year with multiple EB games gift cards and got PS5 for ~$600. The store employee was very patient. Can recommend these cards as I got them very quickly and the swap was very easy.

      When I got my PS4 I had been using the coke label rewards thing to get JB gift cards and had some from my birthdays too. I think I used 27 gift cards in one transaction, the receipt was a mile long.

        I think the trade deal is available for everyone, but the specific amount you have to make up for the PS5 might differ (i.e. the "free" PS5 for trading in an XBX might just be for L5, and a lower level member might still have to pay a gap).

          $404.50 after trading in PS4 Pro with HDMI, power cable, USB cable and controller. Then also added any two games ($25 worth each). I have a Level 3 EB Games membership, I think that also helped.

    So I just traded my ps4 pro & got this deal

    They gave me $180 trade in plus $25 for each game. I traded two games, however they said it could of been ANY games ..

    I also had 4 controllers - which were pretty average condition - and they gave me $12 each for those.

    So that was about $278 value !

      So the PS4 Pro + 2 games got you $230. The advertised deal essentially offers $220 for a PS4 Slim + 2 Games.

      Considering EB Games sells the refurbished PS4 pro for $50 more than the refurbished (500GB) Slim, that seems like a decent deal for anyone looking to trade up their Slim.

      "ANY" games is also very interesting. I've got a few that i'd consider worthless…

      Did the same, traded my PS4 Pro + 2 games and got $230 credit. One of the games was FIFA 15 (sealed) which EB said was worth 15c trade-in normally. Just make sure they have stock before you go.

        I think you got super lucky here. Just gave my store a call and the games have to have a trade in value of at least $10 (which is what the policy has always been).

    I traded my PS4 Slim today and the trade-in deal (i.e. to pay $449 for the PS5) was getting $170 for the PS4 and $25 each for ANY 2 games. This turned out to be a great deal for me because i traded in 2 old versions of FIFA that were worth about 40 cents in total
