Free Coverage of Select ODI Cricket World Cup Matches (All Australia, Finals & Selected Matches) @ 9, 9Now

1772

Several matches of upcoming ODI cricket world cup to be covered on 9 network - TV, app, browser, etc.
https://www.9now.com.au/icc-mens-odi-cricket-world-cup
https://www.cricket.com.au/news/3704033/ultimate-guide-2023-…

Complete schedule given in above link on cricket.com.au website.

Coverage includes all 9 group stage matches of Aus, 6 other blockbuster group matches, semis and finals. - 15 out of 45 group matches and also semis/finals (total 18 of 48 matches)

Blockbuster matches (besides Aus) include Eng vs NZ, Ind vs Pak, Eng vs SA, Ind vs NZ, Ind vs Eng, Ind vs SA

So, some people only watching Aus matches won't even need a subscription to watch the cup. Very decent group stage coverage of India and England matches too, and some watching these matches too might reconsider the need for a subscription .

Enjoy.

      not tests!!

      • They're not boring.

        ODI cricket is boring.

  • +1

    Nice

  • +3

recently signed up to Kayo for this :-(

    • +1

Same but going to cancel itnow

    • +2

I'll happily sign up to Kayo just so my advertising isn't interrupted by a cricket game.

      • true, guess it only $20, and you don't get the commercials.

        • Getting blasted by a bright white noisy Harvey Norman ad after every Over is the worst. Kayo all the way.

  • +4

AFAIK all of 9Now's live channels stream in 1080p 50fps, which may actually be better than the 1080i on FTA.

Also, if it's like the Ashes, it may take half a day for the replay to appear on 9Now (and you could only watch a live stream from the beginning or from live, not anywhere in between).

    • +1

Not better as they're all a minute or so delayed

      • And?

        • Living the past!

        • Live sport on a delay is terrible, can't keep up with any convos with mates or match threads online

Wickets get spoilt, goals in footy etc

  • +11

Free to air is now a bargain?

  • +4

    Hell Yeah India vs Pak

    • +1

It will probably rain out like Asia Cup :)

      • And will probably be the saving grace for Pak :D

        • Pak have a few injuries of concerns!

    • +1

definitely not a blockbuster match. Probably only get a few 100 people watching. Its the day after NZ vs Bangladesh, now there is a blockbuster

      • +3

with nearly 1 million people of subcontinent descent in Australia, even 1% will make it 10K viewers.

      • +2

Nov 3, Netherlands vs Afghanistan, mark it in your calendars.

Although if you miss it, it probably doesn't matter. They'll play again in the final anyway.

      • +1

120 friends with families are just gathering at my home for that match. Lol.

  • Looks like Ch9 have mixed up NZ's Kane Williamson & Martin Guptill in their advertising. Guptill wasn't even selected.

    • -1

Kiwis are very competitivity against the Aussies, but Aussies don't even know or care who is in the Kiwi's team :-)

  • What’s the deal in this ? Why is it on front page ?

    • +3

If people not awar of this, they would end up signing up with Kayo, hence this is a deal.

      • Time to make posts about all rugby & footy matches too, which are there on 7 & 9 all the time

        • nah not into rugby, you can keep your rugby, how about AFL entire season ;)

        • +1

This event is not there on 7 & 9 "all the time" but is a once in a 4 year event.

Coverage of Australia, England and India matches are good enough that one can even reconsider the need for a subscription, which many cricket fans would otherwise be going for, considering the fact that this event happens every 4 years and is one of the biggest spectacles in the sport. Add the semis and finals to that, and major blockbuster matches and you've got the main part of the cup covered for free. If this was a paid subscription showing the cup for a few $ less, people would consider it a deal. You're getting it for free here! So that is the deal. Other teams like NZ and SA are also getting multiple matches shown and at least 1 match of every team is being shown.

And why is it on the front page? Well, simple. Taking all above facts into consideration, a lot of people did indeed find value in the deal.

Thanks OP. Have a feeling the Proteas might pull in a surprise. The English look good too, with Ben Stokes unretiring himself.

  • But what about the Dutch!!!!

    • Airing on Wed Oct 25 Aus vs Netherlands 7:30 AEDT

  • Good thing is it's streaming via app as well. Antenna is broken at our place. Thanks op.
