NBA League Pass Premium (Now up to 3 Devices) Turkish Lire ₺599.99 (~A$34.82) (VPN Required Only at Sign up)

1220

Signed up mine via Turkey last year and just let it auto-renewed for the same price but they've upped the premium plan to 3 devices now.

Simply connect to a Turkey VPN of your choice (I used NordVPN) then use Incognito/Private browsing to load the site and subscribe. Do make sure on the final page that the price is still showing ₺599.99 (in case of any VPN or cookie stuff-up).

Single stream sub is ₺479.99 (~A27.86) if you really want to save a few bucks or don't have anyone to share the sub with.

Had my 28 Degrees and Amex (a different premium sub for a friend) saved on file from last year and both were auto-renewed successfully last week. From what I gathered based on previous deals in the past, Paypal would be problematic so perhaps avoid that as the payment method.

inb4 anyone asks again: You don't need to connect to a VPN to watch. That is only required if you signed up for India LP - which IMO not worth the trouble now especially when you can share a premium sub with 2 other friends and split the cost (~A$11.60pp is crazy cheap).

"Watch all games commercial free on 3 devices at a time, and get access to in-arena streams." This BOLD part is missing when you load the page via Turkey compared to an Aussie sub though it's hardly worth the premium at AUD$210 (or AUD$155 for single stream).

    • Did you follow the Method #2 on that link with the Virtual Card as the link shows 3 methods.

Assuming Google Pay is a no go as it doesn't have the option.

      • I’m guessing not method 2 as that creates a virtual card and baddabing used a 28 degrees card. Congrats if it was just straight Turkish VPN and sign up with 28 degrees. If so they’re the only successful person I’ve read about. I’m trying method 2 from that link now. Funds wont clear in OlduBil for a couple days so I’ll report back. Down side is you can transfer back from OlduBil so I’ll have to spend it in Netflix cards etc.

Edit: guide show a bank transfer from Wise but deposit from a credit card is also an option.

        • +2

Wise didn’t work for me fyi

          • +2

@Dtezy: Do you mean using the Wise card as payment? If so it didn’t work for me either, but my comment was referring to the Wise to OlduBil transfer. OlduBil creates a virtual Turkish Mastercard card for you. I’m hoping that’ll work for the League Pass payment.

Would be great to get a one-liner what was used from one of the 2 users above.

The user says he used this principle via. Google Pay. There is no Google Pay option via. the NBA page. When using VPN to try and access via. the NBA app on the phone, it does not default to Lira - therefore unable to use a payment option from Google Play Services that is linked to the Turkey created pay profile. Been trying for 30 min to try and get it working.

          • +1

@cameronthom: I have an existing Google account with a Turkish payment profile, with a Fups card linked. I used that profile on an old phone and when I went to subscribe on the nba app, it opened Google play with Lira pricing (no vpn used). It has set up the subscription and it will take payment in 7 days. I'm hoping this works as trying to pay direct with Fups or Oldubil didn't work.

So I have a seperate google account that i use to 'manage' my family.

This account has a turkish payment profile setup for spotify, youtube premium etc.

On my phone, I reset all data on the nba app. Vpn to Turkey, and signed into my seperate google account on my phone.

Opened the nba app, selected my subscription of ₺599.99, it auto prompts to pay from google pay which already has the 28 degrees info. Subscribed, then created a new user login detail for nba app.

Logged out of my seperate google account on my phone and logged back into my phone as standard. nba remains as the new user details.

        Hope this helps.

        • Thanks - that's a huge help. Will give it a shot.

          • @cameronthom: Spent like 2 hours trying this on PC apps, and on a separate phone and managed to get all the way to payment and it shows:

"Your transaction can't be completed. To continue this transaction, secure your account. Learn more about securing accounts".

Might give up at this point. Thanks for sharing though

        • How, can you please have a look at my post below and see if you can help?

    • Followed this method and worked for me too. Used an Android phone and deleted all Google accounts except for one Google account with a Turkish payment profile using ING card. Fired up NBA app got the Turkish prices (no VPN required). Similar to when I subscribed to Spotify, I received an error when I purchased using Google Pay. Reached out to Google via chat and issue was resolved instantly. I waited for 24 hours before trying again and it worked!

  • Thankfully mine auto renewed for $32~ AUD based on the Turkish Lira.

  • Has anyone managed to get pass the payment for new sign ups?
Tried different cards, crypto.com visa, none of them work :(

  • What is the in-arena stream?

    • I believe its when you see the activities/entertainment at the arena durings breaks instead of ads

    • I remember reading it was the in arena feed instead of commercials.

    • The in-arena stream is a feature of the NBA League Pass Premium package that allows you to watch the game from the perspective of the fans in the arena, even during commercial breaks³. You can see and hear what is happening on the court, in the stands, and around the venue, as if you were there in person. It is a way to experience the game in a more immersive and realistic way. The in-arena stream is available for select games and markets². You can access it by choosing the in-arena option from the broadcast menu when you stream a game on the NBA app or website¹.

      • Thanks. Not that I watch a lot of live games anyway. Usually on replay.

  • Yeah not working for me either. I am trying to renew from Argentina to Turkey but when I enter my card details it's auto completion of Turkey for the Country doesn't allow the payment through.

Tried changing my account to Turkey, turned off VPN at payment screen etc.

I am trying to use ING card.

While renewing my yearly Turkish disney account, i thought I'd try and sub via itunes/app store account credit
VPN to turkey, open NBA app and subscribed, showed the TRL total and said payment successful.
Will check its working on other devices and if so likely offer up a spot or 2 in the classifieds.

    • how do you select payment via apple credit?

      • Account had enough itunes credit to cover the sub (i'd just reloaded it for upcoming disney, so now waiting on another batch of itunes credit to clear to load it back in to cover that again).
Was done on ipad logged into Turkey based itunes account.

Came here yesterday and had no luck, totally forgot about Apple!
Bought some cards on TurGames and worked a charm!

      • So I need to create Turkish Apple account, and then buy Turkish Apple credit load onto the account?

Won’t work on my Australian Apple account with AUD credit?

        • +1

          Yep.
I have a Turkish apple account just for Disney, so seems to have come in handy for this also.

Check out precious turkey based deals like Disney for details on setting up an iTunes account and sourcing TRL iTunes cards.

I checked mine on other devices and it seems to be working.

          • @SBOB: And there is an option to pay by Apple credit in the nba app?

            • @t0087669: Yep.
I launched the NBA app for the first time while connected to VPN in turkey
              Made new NBA account
Chose to sub to league pass, and was promoted to subscribe at the TRL rate using existing iTunes account credit.

              • +1

@SBOB: I think I got It working! awesome thanks a lot.
looks like the credit will be debited after the 1 week free trial

                • @t0087669: Do you still need to have VPN turned on whilst subscribing with a Turkish AppleID with iTune Apple credits in it?

                  • +1

@Spinach: Need vpn when doing the subbing.
Just vpn to turkey. Open nba app, fresh account, make sure it’s in lira. Then when you click sub, it should automatically prompt you to pay via Apple credit

                    • +1

@t0087669: Ok I just managed to subscribe without using VPN. I did it all from my iPhone using the Turkish Apple ID, with 600 TRL iTunes credit redeemed in the Turkish Apple Store.

      • I tried to purchase ₺600 worth of iTunes cards from Turgame using my 28 degree card last night. It was in payment pending status. This arvo about 2pm I got an email that I cancelled it. Wtf…

The sites seems to be buggy AF. When I did the final purchase step, the website took about 1min to respond, then flicked back to the to the cart screen which listed the iTunes card asif I hadn't made the purchase. But when I went to my order history it showed my transaction as payment pending, until today and it w cancelled.

        • +1

yeah I get the same with Turgame. Are you ordering from a mobile browser? I had the same experience when ordering via Safari mobile. The pending payment order will eventually get cancelled and you won't be charged. When you order via desktop browser you get a prompt asking which banking provider you want to use. The transaction then goes to pending approval and takes hours to complete. Honestly, just use G2A. Prices aren't as good but the transaction is quick and easy.

          • @eciuj: Thanks mate I'll try given it a try when I get home

    • Nice! I have a Turkish iTunes account for Disney+ as well. I’ll see if this works.

    • +1

works well! iOS with turkey Apple account + Turkish lira gift card subscriptions are great

      • Need VPN to work? Or just have to create Turkey Apple account and add Apple credits to it?

        • IIRC Don’t need vpn..
But yes, Turkish Account, Turk cards added to balance
Do need VPN to activate though.
More than happy to send you my login to a working VPN if you want.

    • Legend! Worked for me so far using this method too. I got it working on my original NBA account (newly downloaded app on a spare phone if that makes a difference).

      NBA app shows
      Subscription: League Pass Premium
      Account status: Active
      Plan: 599.99
Next Bill: 9 October 2023 (didn’t think I’d get a 7 day trial since it’s an old account)

My iTunes account still shows $600 TL credit so I guess we’ll see in 7 days.

    • +1

Followed these instructions, weirdly my Apple account shows the subscription in Lira but the NBA app doesn’t seem to recognise I’m on the free trial… no confirmation email from NBA either. Might need to try again with another account but any tips appreciated!

      • Got it working in the end, cancelled the subscription via Apple and tried again and am now seeing league pass Active in NBA app! We’ll see if things work after the trial period

    • +1

      Thanks mate, this worked!

    • +1

thanks champ. This worked for me!

    • Confirmed my trial has converted to full subscription with this method.

  • +1

Following @baddabing's method seems to be working. Have received a receipt from Google Play store confirming subscription that shows the Turkiye price as well as it being reflected on the mobile app.

Used NordVPN, Wise Card with preloaded TRY and a fresh Google Account that has a payment profile in Turkiye with the Wise card.

    1. Turned NordVPN on and connected to Tukiye
    2. Opened Google Play Store and downloaded the NBA App.
    3. Created new account on launch (There is a setting here where it loads your country to Australia automatically, I made sure to change this to Turkiye) and got to the Subscriptions/ League Pass page
    4. Subscribed to League Pass using Google Play.

Hopefully it works post 7 day trial!

    • obviously only work with android phone right?

      • Yeah, haven't got an iPhone to test it sorry

    • Does your wise card have the same billing address that you put on your Google account?

I've tried redoing a whole new account, and using my Wise account instead and even preloaded TRY like you mentioned but am still getting the below:
"Your transaction can't be completed. To continue this transaction, use a different payment instrument or contact us."

      • Different addresses, my wise card has an nz address and the google account only has a turkiye post code

        • No idea how to get over this error then… created a brand new google account with a turkey profile linked to my wise card.

Followed the steps you mentioned above, and hitting this error on payment. They really don't want me to watch NBA.

Thanks for sharing though, hope it works at least for someone else.

          • @cameronthom: For those who missed my comment below.

I raised a ticket via. Google Play help, under a 'Failed Transaction' via. email. They resolved it within 24 hours and I retried and the subscribe worked. Will wait 7 days but expect I'm good now.

Worth every hour spent on this, haha. Set up for every Turkey payment now.

            • @cameronthom: Your comments have been helpful, I've followed identical steps. except I'm also receiving the same error, the help centre is only presenting community as a contact for help. No option for email or chat

    • So you created an NBA account before you tried to subscribe on the app? Can you please look at my post below and see if you can help

    • worked for me

    • hi,
how did you change on NBA app from a monthly subscription to a yearly premium? mine only show 79.99 option

      • I'm having the same issue, only the monthly option appears on the app

  • @baddabing's @seawhalemoocow @cameronthom
So I used an old android factory reset it. I download Surfshark apk form their website and set the VPN to Turkey. I then Opened a new Turkey gmail account and set up my wise and revolut card in my payment methods and set the destination and address to 'Turkey'. I download the NBA app and the prices were shown in Turkish Lira. I had 600 Lira on both cards but both failed and when I press subscribe it comes up with:

"Error - You transaction cannot be complete. To continue this transaction, use a different payment instrument or contact us"

Here is my screenshots of what keeps happening: https://imgur.com/a/zc2nPb5

    • Try turning off the VPN before pressing subscribe. BTW, Bluestacks is less messing around then using a phone. You can have instances with emails from different countries.

Been PM'ing with a Scot on another forum; he had to contact Google to remove the block. Contacting Google is becoming the go-to answer.

      • No luck with turning the VPN off before pressing subscribe. Can you link to that other forum @langh ? Also how do I contact google about this issue? Will try Bluestacks and report back

        • https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1267137?hl=en&c… The other forum is HotUKDeals. Sometimes we follow them, sometimes they follow us. On NBA we're leading.

          • @Iangh: Cheers, no luck again on bluestacks, think I am just going to give up. Both my wise and revolut don't work, I cannot understand why, I guess I will try and contact google, do you know what I should to google @langh?

    • I managed to resolve this just now.

Had to raise a ticket via. Google Help under 'Failed Transaction' to request them to fix this.

It must be a soft block on the Google side for some reason. They unblocked it, I retried and was able to subscribe. Will wait 7 days to see but hope it works.

      • What did you say @cameronthom in you support ticket? Something like: 'Please unblock my card payment method ending is XXXX for NBA App league pass subscription?

  • What did you say @cameronthom in you support ticket? Something like: 'Please unblock my card payment method ending is XXXX for NBA App league pass subscription?

    • One liner, was unable to process payment due to "copy paste error above'.

      • No worries and were you using wise or revolut card? and did you have to change address on wise or revolut?? @cameronthom

        • Used Wise after transferring to TRY to be safe.

Didn't touch any of my billing addresses

          • @cameronthom: No Worries, Just go onto live chat and went over it, said I should receive a response in 4-24 hours so finger crossed? How long did it take your card to be unblocked? @cameronthom

            • @Rodo69: I couldnt get on live chat, but worked instantly for me after I got the email. Said 48 hours though.

Still waiting for the 7 day trial to make sure it ticks off but pretty sure I'll be good.

              • @cameronthom: Fingers crossed even after live chat the operator still said 24-48 hours, keep us updated how you go after trial

  • Is the Google help desk email in the contact options at step 3?

I am only receiving the option to put it on the community forum… which is a dead end for me…

    • +1

I jut kept pressing different option until it said 'email' I think Google just make you go through the process like 20 times to avoid direct support. Let me know how you go

    • I went through "Failed Transaction" by typing unable to process payment or transaction. This had an email option.

      • @cameronthom, did you receive an email confirming your payment option had been unblock or did you just keep trying?

        • +1

Got an email confirming it was resolved and try again in 48 hrs.

I went through email not live chat.

    • +1

I spent all of yesterday trying and retrying, with the same issue as you, and then tested it this morning and had the email and chat options. I elected email based on cameronthom's experience with it, so will see how I go. Might be a certain time must pass since your account was created?

      • +1

You were right. I just sent off the email now. We'll see how this goes.

        • Still waiting on my email response from them. How's it going for you, any success yet?

          • @TwoStroke: No luck for me. The reply said the billing address and wise card address didn't match. I told them they did and asked google to stop declining my purchase. Google flagged my account for suspicious activity and asked me to verify again. They fixed that. Still doesn't work….

I'm just about over it now.

            • @burns13: I got the suspicious activity reset this morning and resolved it, and I had a response from them saying:

"Thank you for contacting Google Support about failed transaction. We hope that this email finds you well.

              Issue status

I can confirm that the transaction issue that you reported is now resolved.

              Next steps

Before you attempt to make a purchase again, wait at least 24 hours. If you still can't make purchases after 48 hours, reply to this email."

I checked and my Revolut card now works.

      • Hope this is the case. Have been trying for hours to get to email or live chat.

      • I think the options depend on the time of the day.

I did it with a fresh account as suggested by someone else who got it working after failing to do it on an existing account, but didn't try email/chat with the existing account.

  • Any new sign ups check the actual playback for me. Never had an issues for years of use now it's all a mess on nba app, and web. Really bad even when changing to 1080.

    • +1

now it's all a mess on nba app, and web. Really bad even when changing to 1080.

NBA support says it's a known issue and should be fixed by season start.

      We shall see.

  • Right I am pretty stuck. Tried setting up a new Google Account set to Turkey. Put in a Revolut card (nope), Up (nope), 28 Degrees (nope) and bought a small amount of Google Play credit from Turgame and downloaded the NBA app from the Turkish store (nope).

    • You got an apple device…?
Reason I say is I can vouch for Apple method (Atleast free trial)
Use the Disney+ (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780728) method for account creation.

      • Had to borrow the girlfriend's but looks like it all worked! So much easier

  • Hmmm, I managed to subscribe using Turkish Apple ID (with Turkish iTune cards) to my NBA ID Account (AUS). I’m unable to watch game on my home internet wifi. But I could if I switch my device to phone internet (4G).

Is this normal for everyone? Btw do I need VPN in order to watch it via home internet?

    • No.. I was fine without it…
Maybe try relog without a VPN..?

      • What device are you watching it from? It just won’t work for my Chromecast, PC, iPad and iPhone (wifi). But works fine on my 4G connection.

      • Did you have to use VPN when subscribing? Also, does it matter if the NBA account is Australia? Would I need to change the settings to Turkey?

        • I left everything Australia and i’m pretty sure I had a VPN on, can’t 100% remember though.
Working on multiple PCs on different networks.
          Will confirm details shortly…

          • @Zuelly: Thanks for checking. I get playback error:
4-62-7027: out of country blocked because client is neither in home nor in content portability region

            • @Spinach: If you go on the NBA app, then Profile - App Info, do you have any Turkey related details in there?

              • @Zuelly: In my APP INFO:
                COUNTRY_CODE=AU
                LOACATION= AU
                Location Service=ON
