NBA League Pass Premium (Now up to 3 Devices) Turkish Lire ₺599.99 (~A$34.82) (VPN Required Only at Sign up)

1220

Signed up mine via Turkey last year and just let it auto-renewed for the same price but they've upped the premium plan to 3 devices now.

Simply connect to a Turkey VPN of your choice (I used NordVPN) then use Incognito/Private browsing to load the site and subscribe. Do make sure on the final page that the price is still showing ₺599.99 (in case of any VPN or cookie stuff-up).

Single stream sub is ₺479.99 (~A27.86) if you really want to save a few bucks or don't have anyone to share the sub with.

Had my 28 Degrees and Amex (a different premium sub for a friend) saved on file from last year and both were auto-renewed successfully last week. From what I gathered based on previous deals in the past, Paypal would be problematic so perhaps avoid that as the payment method.

inb4 anyone asks again: You don't need to connect to a VPN to watch. That is only required if you signed up for India LP - which IMO not worth the trouble now especially when you can share a premium sub with 2 other friends and split the cost (~A$11.60pp is crazy cheap).

"Watch all games commercial free on 3 devices at a time, and get access to in-arena streams." This BOLD part is missing when you load the page via Turkey compared to an Aussie sub though it's hardly worth the premium at AUD$210 (or AUD$155 for single stream).

                • @Spinach: I have Storefront code of AU(AUS)…
                  I’m not sure sorry…

                  • @Zuelly: All good, thanks for checking. Btw, was your NBA ID (Account) created whilst in VPN mode or was VPN only needed to subscribe to the Turkey NBA deal.

                • @Spinach: Mine is the same, but Storefront Country Code is AU(AUS).

I used the same method for sign up. VPN'd to Turkey for sign up, but used my old account which had an Argentina sub last year.

If I go to my League Pass > Personal Info my country is Turkey

All works for me - iPhone on wifi and laptop on wifi.

                  • @eciuj: Thanks eciuj, when you said "VPN'd to Turkey for sign up", do you mean signing up to the NBA ID/Account or do you mean subscribing to the NBA LP?

                    • @Spinach: I didn't create a new account. I used an old account that was previously subscribed via Argentina.

            • @Spinach: you aren't using linux are you? Linux is not supported heh.

              • @bohn: Nope, all on my iPhone 12, with iOS 16.6.1

  • For those who managed to subscribe via Turkish AppleID + iTunes card way, does your NBA ID have to be also Turkish account or can it be Australian?

What I meant is, do you need to also start up VPN to create a Turkish NBA ID Account?

    • I used a VPN to create my NBA ID and when i made my profile i set it to turkey also.
No idea on whether the second steps required, but mines currently working fine (in initial trial window) without any vpn to watch (ie could watch replay for first preseason game on android without issue just now)

      • Thanks for the reply. Do I need to also sign in to my Turkish AppleID to create the NBA ID whilst having the VPN on (set to Turkey)?

        • I already had the turkish apple id.

logged in to app store on ipad with turkish account, VPN launched on ipad, opened NBA app, setup account, went to subscribe, TRL total shown, click subscribe, approve with fingerprint. done.

          • @SBOB: I feel like I need to do it on the iPad then… maybe there's some issue with my iPhone… jeez..

Did you have to download the NBA app in the Turkish App Store?

            • @Spinach:

Did you have to download the NBA app in the Turkish App Store?

              no

            • @Spinach: I downloaded the app from Turkish app store. It was on a spare phone that I had just wiped (CBF switching iTunes account on my phone and having to redo my ApplePay). I logged in using an old NBA account.

              • @eciuj: Hmmm… final thoughts for me would be, do we need VPN on when creating the Turkey Apple Id.

On android app I managed to get to subscription page with TRY but it only available for monthly TRY 79.99. "See All Plan" option still only showing monthly option, and no other plans. I tried with both VPN on and off, they all only showing monthly option. Feel like I miss something silly. Has anyone seen this problem?

    • I just checked and it appears that the annual option has been removed. There was the annual option previously in the last couple weeks.

      • thanks JackedBargain
missed this one and hopefully annual subscription back sometime before season start

        • I would check back on the app in a week . The processes behind the scenes are changing all the time. When I tried subbing via Android app and Google Play last month, it wasn't working. I tried again last week and it went through fine.

Also everyone here seems to recommend using a VPN to Turkey but I didn't need to use a VPN when I subscribed. I got Turkey pricing because my payment profile was Turkish.

  • As an aside.

Early in the year F1/reddit people were getting excited about a Google offer on Turkish F1 a few weeks before the season commenced. People held out for a discount on the listed TKY592. I didn't wait and went with TKY592 a month before the racing started. Google tripled the price! Given the interest in NBA, from all the CS questions, I predict Google will raise the price significantly soon.:) Get in now!

  • Ok, I give up… I even purchased NordVPN (monthly).

Here's what I did this time:
    1. Switch to my Turkish Apple ID on my iPhone 12
    2. Turn on VPN, set to Turkey
    3. Load up NBA App
    4. Create new NBA ID (set Country to Turkey)
    5. Subscribe to NBA League Pass Premium (599TRL)
    6. Switch back to my Australian Apple ID on my phone
    7. Turn off VPN
    8. Load up NBA App
    9. Login with the new NBA ID
    10. Try to play today's game - Wolves vs Mavs on my iPhone
    11. Still getting the 7027 error when im on Wifi (home internet)

What have I done wrong here??? Right now they only way I can watch it is use my 4G data, and to hotspot to my iPad for larger screen.

    • is it just your phone having the 7027 error? Have you tried on a PC? FWIW I also used NordVPN.

      • Same issue on all my "wifi-connected devices to my home internet" - I get the same error. I've tried my iPhone, iPad, PC and Chromecast. That's all I've got…

EDIT: They would work if VPN is on OR the internet source is 4G.

EDIT2: FYI - I'm currently using Superloop as my ISP for NBN - not sure if this matters or not. Maybe a router settings???

        • Watching today's game at home rn. Superloop, no VPN, PC works, Android works, iPad works, CCWGTV works.

FWIW My profile still says South Africa (set from couple of years ago when it was the cheapest) and there's no playback issues.

          • @EVA-01: Thanks for sharing ur experience. Maybe its something to do with new NBA accounts (or just me). Anyway, I'll just live with watching it on 4G now, I don't watch religiously anyway, and I only follow the Spurs. Plus $34 still way cheaper than $209.

Thanks to all for trying to help. I'm kinda at my wits end…

            • @Spinach: A couple of years ago I was having issues with wifi vs 4G on phone and AppleTV (would work hotspotting off my phone). I had signed up via VPN using South Africa location. I contacted their support and they sorted it out and it all worked for me after that, worth a shot.

Got the IOS method working perfect.

    Followed the steps here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718277

That got the apple account all setup. Logged in on wifes ipad.

Bought gift cards and loaded account.

Downloaded nba app, created a new account, popped up asking me to subscribe to leuage pass with turkey pricing, hit yep.

No vpn used. Tested on android phone and could watch some replays from today so looks good!

    • There is annual plan option in ios app?

    • When you say no vpn used does this also mean during the purchase process not when watching? About to give this a go

      • Yeah no vpn at all, setup or watching.

        • cheers mate, worked like a charm, just stuck on the 7 day trial and then it will take the itunes credit out, hopefully no issues after that!

    • Do you have to stay logged into the turkish apple ID to use NBA app on phone? TIA

      • No. I have a spare iPhone I use with Turkish iTunes (can’t be arsed having to redo my ApplePay when switching accounts). I use the Turkish NBA account on my AU phone as well as TV and computer. No issues.

  • +1

Charged ₺599.99 this morning after my 1-week trial.

(My account was already Turkish from last year but my card had expired).

    1. Connected NordVPN (on PC) to Turkey and signed up to NBA League Pass Premium
    2. Turned off VPN and added Wise card (Have a Turkish acc on there already)
    3. Waited a week
    • Had similar situation, have AU wise card with Turkish currency.
Have existing nba account with turkey country from previous season.
      Followed similar steps:

      1. Connected Windscribe (on IPhone) to Turkey and signed up to NBA League Pass Premium
      2. Logged into existing NBA account. (Country shows turkey on the CC details)
      3. Turned off VPN and added Wise card also tried my ING cc. Pressed Agree/Subscribe

Then can’t get any further for payment

The message I get is this when I enter my WISE account which has Turkish currency.

“We are sorry, your payment could not be processed. Please re-enter your payment details, use a different payment method, or contact your financial institution.”

Will keep trying.. any tips appreciated. Will try abit longer but so far 0 progress.

      • Not sure how to help sorry.

Did you get the 7-day free trial?
Maybe use a digital Wise card if you haven't already?
Start again with a new account?

The digital card I used just has my normal address as the billing address.

      • Same issue for me, can't get it to budge no matter what combination of things I seem to do between the wise card, VPN being turned on or logging in.

  • Has anyone tried to watch preseason lately? I’m subscribed with South Africa account back couple of years ago, it’s now renewed until next year, however it keep asking me to upgrade when I try to watch games..

    • been watching preseason games no problem

      watching right now as well.

    • I had similar, just logged out and back in and it's fine

    • Thanks all, it’s working on the phone now, had to reboot the phone all together!

  • Successfully signed up through the Apple ID method on an older iphone i have spare. Confirmed working on all other devices like Apple TV without VPN.

  • Did you follow steps Turkish Apple ID method from spinach ? Or different steps?

    • Using apple method works. I think just make sure account was made in Aus…
      @Spinach

Got charged today and account works everything ect

      • @Zuelly “…make sure account was made in Aus..”
Do you mean Aus NBA account ? With a Turkish Apple ID?
So payment is via Turkish iTunes gift card?

        • Yeah I’m pretty sure I made the account in Australia on my computer, and then use the sub on phone.
Apple just handles payments, so wherever the account is is what you’ll pay, it’s usually irrespective of the actual App (NBA in this case)

    • Mines been billed successfully, from when I posted this last week
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14359762/redir

      This was my workflow.
Make an apple account, as detailed in older posts like the Disney apple turkey deal, and preload with sufficient turkey apple credit
Download NBA app onto apple device (don't open it yet)
Launch vpn software (I was using surfshark)
Launch NBA app, make new NBA account id (I set mine to country of turkey, no idea if that's needed)
At subscription option it should show turkey sub price for the year, select to subscribe and pay/approve via Apple iTunes popup (using existing iTunes credit)
      Done.

Browse/watch NBA content on this or any other device without needing vpn

    • I'm starting to think that I may have stuffed up my Turkish Apple ID creation… is there a way to verify it?

      • You go to your app store, every price should be in Turkish.
You go to your profile in app store, should have Turkish balance and turkish profile..

        • I see all that, I don't really know what's happening. I may try one last time (when I get home) but using my iPad.

          • @Spinach: Try make account in Australia**
I know other saying made with Turkey and what not, but I just made all aussie, without VPN and just logged in and signed up

            • @Zuelly: Thanks Zuelly, I think that's what I did,

First time with my iPhone (No VPN)
              1. Created Turkey Apple ID
              2. Sign in with the Turkey Apple ID + Top up iTunes Gift Card (600TRL)
              3. Start up existing NBA App and sign in with my Aussie NBA ID
              4. Subscribe to the Premium League Pass 599TRL

Second time with my iPhone (with VPN)
              1. Sign in with the same Turkey Apple ID
              2. Cancel my Subscription
              3. Turn on VPN
              4. Delete and Redownload NBA App
              5. Create new NBA ID -> Set to Turkey
              6. Subscribe to the Premium League Pass 599TRL

My plan for the third time, planning to go with iPad + VPN, using the same Turkey Apple ID, but will have to wait for the Free Trial to expire first.

EDIT: One more thing, when ppl here sign up (VPN or no VPN) on their device, which DEVICE (iPad, iMac, iPhone) and via Wifi/4G/5G???

  • Sounds promising.
Does anyone have any advice on whether there is a similar workaround for the NFL, my Turkish cuzzins?

    • I tried Apple method very quickly and got error.
      Doesn’t mean not doable though.

Just did a bit more diggin, still going to cost you 2,600 TRY for the year, so $145~…
Could try watching on Betting websites like Bet365 or TAB (which require an account but dont need to bet I dont think)

  • Anyone only getting monthly sub suggested? I was getting annual before but now only monthly even when I click other plans…

    • I experience the same on Turkey Android app

      • I'm getting the same regardless which country/prices the app is giving me

  • Anyone just not getting any streams to work at the moment. worked on mobile at one point during the day, sat down to watch the C's and now nothing but some manifest error. Ah!

    • I watched 10min condensed celtics game as well as the lakers game.
No issues. Yesterday I saw a whole game with no problem

      • ok thanks, had watched games live the other day and on delay. Just went to try now and nothing regardless of device.

        • +1

yeah I can't play anything on my FireTV either.
They'll prob fix it by tmrw game time.

  • Somehow even when I have my VPN (Express VPN) on. When I go to the NBA page, League Pass is still showing AUD prices not Turkish Lira.

    Anyone had that problem?

    • Tried on incognito?

      • Yup. Tried in both Safari and on Chrome.

        • Check if your browser is picking up your correct location. Google 'where am I'. When I had VPN on (Nord VPN) Google Maps and Apple Maps knew my true location, but the browser thought I was in Turkey. Not exactly sure how the map apps knew.

Are you using a new or old NBA account? First couple times I tried paying via credit card, it would show prices as TL, then when it failed the credit card payment the price would go back to AUD.

Honestly, just go the Turkish iTunes route. Lots of people have had success with this method, me included.

          • @eciuj: Thanks for the details.

Last year I went the Argentina route and it worked fine. However, when I check out the Argentina price this time around, while it does give me the prices in ARS, but that converts to about 79AUD so it's only a $20 saving from normal Australia regular league pass price and therefore I'm hoping to check out the Turkey route, only to find out that somehow it is just showing me the 99AUD price.

When I google where am I, both browsers (safari/chrome) showed I'm in Turkey which is why I'm don't get why it would show me the AUD price still.

            • @muddrex: Yea Argentina pricing went up considerably this season to 16800 ARS, up from 2880 ARS.

I haven't looked at Australian pricing that closely. I remember years ago it used to be $270 for League Pass and $330 for League Pass Premium so the local pricing has improved.

              • @JackedBargain: Yeah, if the Australia League Pass Regular/Standard is 99AUD, then I may just go with Australia… $20 saving over a 10month period is just $2 a month and I can save the hassle.

                • @muddrex: It's $155 AUD for the season. Go the Turkish iTunes method. It's dead easy.

  • got this error today: out of country blocked because client is neither in home country nor in content portability region

    • That is also what I got throughout my experience. Did you get that when you watch via 4G/5G or Home internet wifi?

I only get that when watching via home internet wifi, and i'll need VPN on in order to don't have that error. But it gets PIXELATED real bad…

EDIT: Otherwise, I'll have to use 4G internet to watch it without using VPN. And man a game in 1080p hotpot to my ipad uses up 6-10GB… yikes…

    • Did you end up fixing this ?

  • +1

Trying to sign up through android app using a Google account located in Turkey - Turkish prices appear in app but it is only giving the monthly option? Anyone know how to get the yearly sub to appear?

    • I couldn't get past this tbh - gave up and used the iOS method which was wayyyy easier

      • Only issue I have is loading the Turkish iTunes account with credits from turgame gift cards - I've never done this before so am a bit wary, I've created a Turkish iTunes account and a turgame account but haven't purchased anything yet. Will have a go later on and see how it works

        • I’d recommend G2A. I found Turgame takes a while to process the order and it’s not uncommon.

          • @eciuj: I’m looking at Turkish ITunes Gift cards on G2A and they all say can’t activate in Australia - does this mean they won’t work at all or I just need to be using a VPN when adding to my account?

            • +1

@PaPaGeorGeo: That's just a warning for people that buy iTunes cards. This customer is buying an iTunes card from an Australian IP address, we better warn them this Turkish iTunes card will only work on Turkish iTunes accounts

            • @PaPaGeorGeo: I believe it means it won't activate on an Australian iTunes account. Should be fine adding to a Turkish iTunes account, even without VPN - I used the same method without VPN when I subscribed to Turkish Disney+. I'm pretty sure you'd need the VPN for the NBA app to show Turkish pricing though.

          • @eciuj: I'm assuming an Aus credit card won't work with Turkish iTunes account hence the need for iTunes gift cards - would a 28 degrees latitude card work?

  • +2

UPDATE!!! I manage to get it working the 3rd time subscribing!!!!

Basically here's what I did in my entire process FWIW:

First time with my iPhone (No VPN) - ONLY 4G Works, not working for home NBN
    1. Created Turkey Apple ID
    2. Sign in with the Turkey Apple ID + Top up iTunes Gift Card (600TRL)
    3. Start up existing NBA App and sign in with my Aussie NBA ID
    4. Subscribe to the Premium League Pass 599TRL

Second time with my iPhone (with VPN) - ONLY 4G Works, not working for home NBN
    1. Sign in with the same Turkey Apple ID
    2. Cancel my Subscription (still under Free Trial)
    3. Turn on VPN (NordVPN)
    4. Delete and Redownload NBA App
    5. Create new NBA ID -> Set to Turkey
    6. Subscribe to the Premium League Pass 599TRL

Third time with my iPad (with VPN via home internet WIFI) - WORKS GREAT
    1. Sign in with the same Turkey Apple ID
    2. Cancel my Subscription
    3. Waited for couple of days until my free trial has expired
    4. Once expired, still logged in my Turkish Apple ID - delete NBA App, and redownload NBA App
    5. Turn on VPN
    6. Start up NBA App
    7. Sign in to my NBA Account created in my 2nd time (see above), its the one with Turkish as country
    8. Subscribe the NBA LP Premium (599TRL)

Man i think it didn't work for me the 1st time was due to no VPN… and for 2nd time maybe my subscription free trial hasn't been fully expired with my Turkish Apple Id that i initially signed up with. So my take on this for the Apple sign up way, is to use VPN, iPad (connected via WIFI), i feel like the NBA Account don't matter that much.

EDIT: Thanks to all those here who have helped guide me along!!! Truly thankful for it!!!

    • The first time you tried (iPhone without VPN), were you using home wifi or 4g when signing up?

      • +1

Good question, that I forgot, I'm leaning towards 4G cause it worked on my phone (via 4G), but then when I cast it to Google Chrome via WIFI, it failed.

And for the 2nd time, I'm pretty sure I used a mixed of 4G and WIFI, I didn't really take notice at the time sorry. I should have documented it.

But one thing for sure that worked - iPad with Turkish Apple ID + Home Wifi + VPN - and make sure you are not on free trial anymore if u failed to subscribe the first time like I did.

        • I did the GC method(so GC loaded on media purchases, with my Turkish Apple Id.), but on subscribe, it didnt ask for any payment options. So assume, after 7days it will just deduct from my Turkish apple gift cards. without me having to action anything.

          • @Kelvinh: Hmmm, this I’m not sure. Cause using the NBA App to subscribe will activate the NBA League Pass under Apple Account’s subscription setting. I didn’t do the GC method, so I can’t comment on it.

Have a look at ur subscription setting in ur Turkish Apple ID. If it’s there, then it most likely will deduct from ur Apple account providing you have enough credits.

    • Is there a guide to the whole Turkish app store thing? I need to create a Turkish apple id, then buy a gift card from apple loaded with Turkish Lira, all while logged in with a vpn?
Do you think I need to create a new NBA account with Turkey as the country, or just use my existing nba account?

      • +1

There should be a guide posted earlier for creating Turkey Apple ID.

From my experience, you only need VPN on when you are ready to login to NBA App (whilst signed in your Turkish Apple ID) to subscribe to the League Pass.

I honestly think the NBA Account don’t matter, but mine is set to Turkey. You can test out with ur current NBA account. And if it doesn’t work, cancel the subscription and wait for the free trial to run out. Then create a Turkish NBA Account (don’t think VPN matters for this, happy for someone to confirm, cuz I did use VPN to create NBA Account) and resubscribe it via NBA App whilst VPN on.

        • Thanks mate, will see what I can do.

          • @dtra: No worries, happy to help. Not hard to create Turkish Apple ID, just make sure you set the country to Turkey and add in a Turkish address (google’s ur best friend here).

    • Thanks for your efforts - I signed up and then cancelled tonight - my free trial ends on the 21st. Are you saying I should wait until just a few days before resubscribing or wait until after the 21st and then re-subscribe?

Have you had any luck on other devices - I plan to use this on my Apple TV

      • +1

FYI, reason I cancelled and resubscibed was due to the issue of not able to connect via home wifi. I get the country lock error.

If you didn’t get that same error in the first place, my route wouldn’t help.

I did have to wait till the free trial ended before resubscribing with VPN on. And no I don’t have Apple TV to test. Though now it works on my Chromecast, PC, iPad and iPhone via home wifi.

    • What was the process you used for buying the gift cards from turgame? I tried last night and they sat in the order history as "pending payment" before the order was cancelled an hour or so later. I was using a 28 degrees card and didn't use a VPN.

      • I bought from turgame.
        I tried:
        My Au ING CC fail
WiSE CC with Turkish lira fail initially.
I had to make sure mine card and my turgame account had that same AU address.
Still the turgame processing took few hours.
Also I choose “payTR” of the 3 CC processing options .

I think the key is making sure you turgame account address and CC address match.

        • Cheers, I didn't have an address in the turgames account so fixed that up and also used paytr instead of iyzi and seems it might work! Payment is pending now on 28 degrees global card and processing on turgames, fingers crossed.

          • @Vida13: I just bought mine from G2A with no issues, probably a little more expensive but was a seem less process.

  • Did anyone manag to bring up the annual option in Android app?
