Oldubil warned about changes to the rules for anonymous cards and recommended "using the balance before today evening"
It is still unclear what will happen to the purchase Spotify.

On October 2, 2023, the Turkish payment system Oldubil sent a warning to customers that anonymous cards can now only be used on Turkish websites with a trust seal. One of the first to notice this was user darios13 from the PlayStation community on DTF.

According to the regulation issued by the Central Bank of Turkey, anonymous cards can only be used on Turkish websites with a trust seal. We recommend that you use your balance before tonight. We will keep you informed.

Oldubil advised customers to use their balance “until tonight”, that is, until October 3, 2023. The company said it would share details in the future.

Some Russian residents use the Oldubil payment system to buy games in Turkey on the PS Store, Microsoft Store and Steam. How the policy change will affect them is unclear.

I still have around 300 Lira sitting just for Spotify renewals, I am not sure what would happen to it? Anyone can help?

    Nobody is going to know until after tonight and what they do. I suspect if most of us with OlduBil accounts go to the account settings, they'll all be "Unverified" so maybe they'll restrict access to accounts until they get verified ??

    If you're verified, do these cards essentially stop being "Anonymous" ?

                @Cineaste: They might have changed the sign up requirement. We have to provide full name and Turkish ID to get pass the registration page.

                EDIT: Must be a new change. Even on plati.market there's now an extra box to tick to acknowledge that a Turkish ID is required to register a card in FUPs.

    I registered my account with my UK phone number so no chance of getting any money out and no idea what to spend it on ..

      I tried to put it back on my wise account, however Mastercard SecureCode keeps failing.

      Looks like I’ve lost about $45.

          If any of you guys use PSN then I just added funds to the PSN account. I had just over 1400 TL in there so moved it all to the PSN.

            @robbiey: Just after posting this comment I realised my card is already linked to my Turkish Apple account so I was able to add funds to my wallet from the App Store (no 3DS needed as it’s a trusted source)

        Would like to know too thanks. I just tried to login to VPN Turkey to update my payment method from Oldubill to Revolut card but getting the error message that payment info and country don't match. Not sure what to do to keep my spotify subscription going.

      I got a payment failure on my automatic payment, however I went into Spotify and re-entered my CVV and it went through just now (Fri 13/10).
      Spotify is reinstated and there's a transaction record on my Oldubil account.

    Well it's past Turkish midnight and my OlduBil balance is still there so it at least suggests that they haven't closed or cleared out accounts.

    I'm wondering if it's worth keeping it on the possibility that companies like Disney and/or Deezer might end up with one of these "Trust Seals".

    If this is only a recent regulatory change, I suppose you have to give companies time to catch up, especially if it's country-wide and ALL banks have to follow suit.

    I landed up just topping up my Xbox Live Ultimate pass a few months ago the more expensive rate to clear out the balance.

    Probably a website that would have worked anyway, but given they have made this change, it wouldn't be that surprising if they cracked down even further.

    tried buying a netflix gift card via Turgame using my Oldubil turkish cc but kept saying System Failure after they start processing it. Tried the 3 different payment method with the Oldubil cc details but all the same. Checked Turgame order history and it says its pending even though it said System Failure. Hopefully it goes through but doesnt look promising.

    Anyone else able to use the Oldubil CC to purchase Netflix giftcard on Turgame?'thanks

            @dobol: Figured out that you have to add items to cart first and then add new card during checkout . Didn't need to add billing address that way .
            Worked great .

    I bit the bullet and decided to not risk leaving it on my Oldubil card, despite it being only 650 TRY. So I dumped it into my TR Apple ID to use it for in-app subs instead. Should cover about a years worth.

    It's a shame Turkey is hitting back and closing all these gaps, but I guess all good things must come to an end. We've still got the gift card workaround and that works perfectly fine for me with Turgame.

    I ended up switching my Spotify Premium Family -> Individual, then went through the offerings and opted for the 12-month prepaid which used up my remaining funds.

    If you've exhausted all options, you can use it to top up your AUS Steam Wallet.

    The annoying thing is that many places that sell Turkish GC use 3Dsecure/phone or app 2FA and oldubil payment thus failed 😫

    MS didn't let me topup my AU gamepass but you might have better luck if your game pass acc is also Turkish.

    Oldubil also sells game cards within the app (inc Turkish xbox game passes) but its not cheap.
