  • amazing deal.. would consider this if I haven't got a set…. sadly it doesn't have women's left hand option

No love for the lefties :(

      Check out Flanders’ Leftorium

    Lefties suck. Up the righties!

The amazon description says it has a 5 wood and 5 hybrid, no 3 wood or hybrid as per title

10.5° Driver with graphite shaft, #5 Fairway Wood with graphite shaft, #5 Hybrid, Irons: #6, 7, 8, 9, Pitching Wedge, Sand Wedge, Putter, Carry Bag and three Head Covers

    • Pic shows a 15deg wood, that's a 3 in my book. Who knows what you'll actually receive though!

Mine arrived today. Driver is 10.5 and the 'Fairway' is 15deg
Looks pretty good for $365, everything the beginner or casual player needs. I haven't had a hit yet though…

  • Used to play golf as a kid with the grandparents, this worth a buy for starting back up again? I'm just over 6ft incase these would be too short? been a long time since I touched a club.

    • In a similar boat, great deal however I imagine these would be too short for anyone over 6 foot

    • +1

It's an easy solution but if you've played before and are tall I'd look at buying secondhand and building a decent little set. That said it won't cost sub $400 so for price this is good. You can always get spacers added to the shafts to make them slightly longer for tall people

    • +5

Apparently 5'7 - 6'1 is standard length clubs (from HERE)

    • +3

I'm 6'1 and I use standard length clubs no problem. My wife bought a set of these clubs last year. They're fine for beginners but aren't super high quality. If you've played to a decent level before these might be fine to start up again, but I suspect you'll want to move to a better quality set pretty quickly. So it might be worth just outlaying a bit more for something better now.

this worth a buy for starting back up again

Hard to go past at this price. I bought a bunch of old name brand odd socks from the local Op Shop and with a bag it still cost me nearly $200.
I reckon you'd have to pay close to $1000 to go up a level from this set.

I have seen a single driver for 1k. This seems like a nice deal for a beginnar!

  • -3

Thanks, bought 3 for my future kids.

  • +3

I was absolute shiet at golf as a kid. Remembering this, I skipped on this deal. Would be sweet if I was still into it though, just a shame I was SHIET.

    • +2

I feel your pain. I did golf for a school sport. All my school friends were ROFL'ing at me trying to tee off on the first hole. 50 swings later, I still couldn't hit the bastard.

  • +7

Yay. Please more golf deals! We need more golf dealz!

    • +1

      Cash converters!

Thanks OP! Was eyeing on one for a while!

if you have an old set just upgrade your driver.

  • Looks like a cracking little set for the price. Could supplement it with a couple of second hand clubs.

    • Hey Testeagle, just getting into it, what would you need to supplement in?

      • +1

You need at least 2 balls

  • So the generel sentiment is this is great for a beginner?

    • +3

Yep. For someone brand new to golf, this set is perfect.

  • How would these compare to a second hand set around the same price?

    • +1

How would these compare to a second hand set around the same price?

I never seen good second hand sets go for this price. So your choice at this price point is this or old junk

    • You've got no chance of getting a worthwhile full set at this price (assuming these are worthwhile anyway, they very well may not be).

Second hand you might score a good set of irons for $250-300, probably looking at around the same for a driver and three wood (each) for something less than 5 years old. Hybrids can go from $150 or so through to almost driver prices, and a half decent putter could go anywhere from $20-180.

      So best case scenario ~$920

Having said that you could probably score a full set for $300-400 and upgrade the driver for $250 odd and you'd be in business.

  • any left handed deals?

  • +3

Was at Drummond the other day, pushed me towards a $1300 set, but i am only just getting into it. Decided to wait, and now this came along - boom! Purchased!
Only need it for the driving range and maybe a once a month hackathon.

Ozbargain golf day anyone? 100 x brand new Wilson sets will turn up

Easy to identify the real Ozbargainers.

Amazon is the best for golf clubs. If you check semi frequently, you can get top end in-season and last season stuff for chips. They must have pricing errors, but they always pay out.

I got a Callaway epic driver for 200 odd dollars when the rest were $600+ and recently pulled down the dynapwr 3 wood and driver for $550 all in.

A few years back I got a full Apex iron set for $600. After I purchased it, the price refreshed to almost $2000.

  • Confound it! Only had $365. Couldn’t rustle up the 17 cents to get the deal home. So close……

  • Can anyone recommend some good value balls?

  • +1

    expired :(

  • It's $566.50 now.

  • Back in stock guys. Shopback 3.5% & Westpac Lounge 10% (Capped @ $20)

    • I'll buy if it gets cheaper. Was $340 last black friday and didnt need prime and still didnt get this many votes.

      • will come down to ~333 if you have westpac card and get $20 dollars off. but yup it could possible get cheaper during black friday next month!

  • OOS..

  • Anyone had any reasonable tracking updates on this? Apparently mine got picked up by Aramex on Sunday and that's about it.

    • +1

Yeh, mine is being delivered by Aramex too. So I'm expecting to receive it by april 2024 if I'm lucky. (profanity) Aramex

      • Honestly wouldn't have bought it if I knew it was going to be delivered by them. Have asked what's going on and got told to wait for another 2-3 business days for an update 😒

        • +1

Likewise… I actually submit a complaint to Amazon every single time they deliver with Aramax in the hopes they drop them as a contractor.

  • +1

I just found an old set of these. Looks like they used to come with Graphite Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 hybrid, 4-SW and putter. Hope they have improved over the years because they did not hit very nicely.
