  • Any deal on 150 160 170gb sim?

  • Can I port from More to Boost and still get this offer? Since they both use Telstra me work

    • Yes

  • +1

Still sad how loyalty means nothing these days. A great deal for new customers, but existing customers get nothing. Not a new concept, but times have changed I guess.

    • I know. It's so stupid.

    • Mine annual plan is due for renewal today. Think I might give Aldi a go.

    • Actually good this happened. Aldi now have wifi calling and the $25 plan is basically the same as this without needing to pay upfront. So looks like Boost have lost another customer today.

      • Aldi doesn't have 5G I thought which plan do you mean

    • Agreed. same as Aussie bb, been with them for 3 years and asked them for a discount as same as new customers , they didn’t budge so I left to superloop

      • Yeah I moved to Superloop for the same reason. Saved $40/mth FFS. Then when NBN told me I could get FTTP Superloop offered the upgrade at the same price I was paying for the first 3 months. Contacted Aussie and they didn't even think I could get FTTP??

    • Because there's bigger chance of people jump ship when there's a cheaper deal than people choose to stay knowing there's another deal around.

    • Can't you just port your number out to Aldi then give it a day or two port back then you will be recognised as new customer?

  • any for 365gb ?? thanks

    • Would like this also.

  • +1

Give me one reason why they haven't implemented esim yet

    • +2

Because great god Telstra won't let them.

260gb, I use that in a week checking emails. Boost need to up their game to get me back, it’s 2023, not 2010

    • +4

You sure you know the differences between MB and GB?

      • I hope so. Isn’t a 1GB 1000bytes

        • I see where's your issue is.

          • @itstuan: Well, ask a dumb question, get a dumb answer

            • @BatmanAU: Well it was asked from a dumb statement to begin with :)

              • -2

@itstuan: So what I use in a week is dumb statement, your an idiot champ :)

  • Thank you. Been waiting for this deal. Bought 2!

    • Welcome.

  • If I am existing customer with Boost, I need to buy an other provider's sim to port out the number first then port back in?

    • +1

No, you can use Boost online chat to activate your new sim and port your exisiting Boost number across to it. Have done it multiple times over the past two years.

      • No not all of them will allow you to do this.

    • +1

I'm an existing boost customer and bought this same deal and got lucky yesterday via Boost online chat, they activated the new sim and then de-activated it. The data(265GB) was then manually applied to my existing sim for an extra 12months. They said this would be my last "recharge". You just need to ask them really nicely.

What Fox has mentioned above boost told me they have stopped doing that,

      Hope that helps.

    • Yep, through Boost online chat, had them activate and then transfer the data across to my existing number just a few days ago. They said something about not allowing new sim activations for existing users due to fraud or something, but then they still activated and put it to my existing. I'll do it again with this one for the other phone now.

      • How did you approach this convo with Boost chat?

Did you just say Hey I bought a new sim pack, can I add this to my plan? This will be the first time I'll be having a convo with them

    • I'd say your mileage may vary depending on who you get. I just tried on Fri of the Labour Day weekend and didn't work for me so I simply got the $5 Aldi sim and ported out-and-back in a few days (would've been same day if I bothered to check my email and phone to see that the service had been disconnected).

I copy-pasted from my saved chat transcript from last year and the SIMO response was 'challenging' this year from the get-go:
ME: Hi. I'm with Boost and my plan is expiring. I have a $300 Starter SIM with me so can I apply that as a recharge to my existing number?

SIMO last year: I'll get someone who can help with this.
<and away we went with the agent activating the sim then linking my existing number to it>

SIMO this year: I didn't get that. Try asking your question a different way.
ME: Can I get someone who can help with this?
SIMO this year: I'll get someone who can help with this.
<and away we went with the agent cordially informing me that a new number would be assigned (but we both knew, and didn't need to mention, that porting was the answer)>

      • Thanks mate how long do you need to wait while ported out to Aldi before coming back to Boost to be recognised as new customer??

        • I'm not sure but I think there's a long-running Boost faq that mentions it.

My case was exceptional because: a) my plan expired on Fri of the long weekend; b) I ported to aldi on Sat@20:30 but didn't realise it completed 10min later cos with my plan expired, the service indicator was already showing "no connection"; c) I spent the whole long weekend in Canberra hotspotting cos I thought porting wasn't done (cos I didn't check emails indicating that it was done); d) back at work on Tue@11:00 and wondering how long porting was taking, I checked my email and saw… so straightaway activated the boost sim.

  • Thanks guys

  • Damn… I bought one from the other deal last week, looks like a further $16 off…. Not sure if I should buy another one for the recharge next year?

  • Hi OP, do you have one year plan with less data, I won’t use data much so looking for cheaper option here. TIA

  • Hi, anyone knows if I switch away from Boost and switch back right after, am I still able to use the kit as a new customer? Thanks.

    • Yes you can.
      Thanks

  • Thanks!

  • @oztechtraders There are two other providers selling the same SIM pack for $240 delivered. can you please price match atleast?
