    30 mins at the minimum is what I used to do with the oven at the max (not including oven pre-heating time).

  Has anyone owned one of these pizza stones and not thrown it out 6 months later? For me I didn't really see much difference and it was a PITA to clean and store.

    I store it in my oven with my roasting tray and rack on top. Too many baking stuff in my cupboard, lol.

    Tip: Put baking paper under the pizza prevents the burnt cheese sticking to the stone, so cleaning is much easier.

      But does the baking paper prevent moisture escaping from the pizza base? The stone is a porous material.

        You will still need to clean/rinse the stone, it just prevents the burnt cheese which I found is the biggest PITA part of cleaning the pizza stones.

        Edit: This is for conventional ovens, not wood fired.
