    • Predicted, nice

      • -1

Predicted as in hardly any stock around, yes it is! :)

  • +12

    RRP for that is laughable

    • +6

Maybe so, but the brand has a premium

    • Top brand though

      • +1

I'm not so sure about that. Bought one of their hose trigger spray guns and it started leaking after 6 months. Didn't last any longer than the Pope spray guns which were cheaper. Sure there's a 5 year warranty but am I really supposed to keep returning it every 6 months for 5 years?

        • +4

I guess that's why they can afford to put 5 year warranties on things, because people can't be bothered to return faulty items.

        • +1

I have one of the $35 gardena sprays, leaked after 2 years, bunnings swapped, I keep bunnings receipts for warranty items in my car now, and often pay for some individual items so easier to find e.g exclude paint, nails, pot plants, etc. I have power pass but some warranties for some items are longer for domestic use e.g. ozito.

        • I really like their trigger guns. I have one of their 3 setting ones (tri spray/shower/bucket filler) and find it much better quality than my Pope gun on another hose. No issues after 3yrs with it.

I have changed to all Gardena hoses and fittings. I find the brand to be far superior to Pope. I have no experience with Hoselink, which is apparently comparable, but I am not a fan of being locked into their system.

Even my hose hanger at the front of the house is Gardena

    • Yeah reckon we paid half of the RRP as full price for ours. Great unit though.

  • Sold out?? Link doesnt work..

    Are they price matching?

  • +3

I gave two of these to the local transfer station last week.

They had a habit of falling over as the hose was pulled out. When they fell onto their sides the handles snapped off.

    • +1

      5 year warranty tho!

    • +2

Hard agree. Rubbish product, still overpriced by $35

    • +1

Of course it’s going to fall over at this price point you’re supposed to unwind all of the hose first while holding it down ,and then take it to wherever it’s needed. Problem solved .

      • +1

Sadly agree, if you wanted something that doesn't fall over, you'd need to install a retractable reel.

      • +1

Disagree. I have metal ones that are mobile and stable.
Stability is achieved by having an extended base. Simple.

        • Ive got a four wheel steel frame that holds 60m (might be more), it doesn't fall over, but neither does the rubbishy hozelock i got from masters
          .

    • Got this one too, sadly same issue.
Replaced with an Aldi-branded one and it’s actually better made & works well so far.

had this before, had to return it. handle is short need to drag along like Smeagle, hurts my back. im 173cm, it's a pain trust me. and like the gent said above, foot print is bit small, so can tip over easily. end up buying top end version of this from facebook for $50 2nd hand, couldn't be happier.similar to this https://www.bunnings.com.au/gardena-cleverroll-m-metal-hose-…

I applaud your Hobbit reference. Well done sir!

Any good hoses on sale to pair with this?

    • +2

Just get the mitre 10 deal linked above. Great value with the hose

      • Good point, thanks!

  • +4

    Bad design. Keeps falling over

    • Different use cases. Not portable.

      • It's only not portable if mounted. I do need to pull hose out while standing at the reel but that isn't much of an inconvenience for me. I move mine from the front to backyard regularly.

        • Haha that's actually what I do, I bought an extra mount, so I can move the retractable hose reel back and forth.

Then I couldn't be bothered, the extra mount became a hose hanger. :D

By the way, the neg wasn't me.

    • Is this at ALDI now?

  • +1

My local has these but I am going to avoid based on comments here

    • I'm thinking the same. Does anyone have one and has good things to say about it (at least at this price point)?

  • +4

Had one, kept falling over, they need to be weighted. Easier to roll and hang up after use.

  • Bunnings used to sell a all metal one… I bought 3…. still going strong.. even after falling over multiple times… ^_^

nowadays it's all these plastic parts… will break right after 5 years.. if you're lucky…

  • While this type of hose reel may seem easy to fall apart, but they are generally durable, we have a Pope branded one for over 20 years, other than colour has faded, it's still intact. Though we do keep it out of the sun.

    Bought one as a spare.

  • This doesn't last. The plastic holding the handle will eventually break unless you're not moving it around much and keeping it out of the sun.

    I used to own one.

I now use an aluminium one but it has no wheels.

Used to also have a metal (non aluminium) one, it corroded and leaked.

  • Recently moved to a new house and decided I need a hose reel, I'm kind of shocked by how much they retail for.

  • Just remembered the hose from this deal, still in packaging, will go with this nicely.

  • bought one this morning- has been delivered a few hours later!!! is this new for Bunnings?

  • +1

    Does not include hose.

    Where the "hose" at?

    • +1

      Your place

    • no hose incase people want to use to store rope …

  • Bought one. Its quite good quality. Made in Germany.

    Thanks OP

..and they are the recognised leader-in-hosin'

  • +1

Thanks for posting this OP , have been meaning to buy a couple of these for a while . Grabbed a couple
    Cheers

Looks decent, 5 years warranty, made in Germany.

The one I pickup was delivered to Bunnings only last month, so not sure why the clarence price but happy it is.

The medium and Large are still $100+: https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?q=cleverroll

    Great stuff, thanks OP.

  • Bought one so will see how it goes. Worth $35 seeing as it's made in Germany and not CCPland.

Do I need to purchase the above hose as well to make proper use of the reel?

  • looks like all gone, the link doesn't work anymore :(

    • Same here. Any new link?

Edit: Try the search but seems OOS everywhere near me.

  • I was in bunnings Rockingham WA around12.00 today and there was one left on the shelf, saying out of stock online though.

  • I just ordered one online for delivery. Don't know why the deal is expired. I had to change to store to one that had stock.

  • Picked up one just then from Villawood. Now OOS.

  • Expired? Getting the Bunnos snag now

    • Marked as Expired. Cheers

  • +1

So the first link from that guy that shows stock levels seem to indicate there’s still some left and I called one store and it’s still valid and I bought 1 in person still at sae price of $35.

The Bunnings link itself isn’t working but if you want to call the store to confirm stock, this is the item code 0048757

    Happy hunting :)

I just called the Leppington store and they have it for full price $113.98 :(

      • Ah shucks must’ve got the price back up, coincidently I was going to go to leppington gas it’s one of my nearest Bunnings lol but my sis was coming down from Newcastle & I told her just to stop by Tuggerah as they had a bit more in stock but that was last week on 28th Oct when she did the visit
