  • Looks appealing, where's the catch?

      • i assume this is your personal experience @jv ?

        • -1

Yes, from reading all the comments.

          • +1

@jv: Obviously you didn't read all the comments!

Most complaining in these energy Deals - never took up the Deals to know!

Instead, like you they read others comments - often from members who similarly were warning based on others comments, not their own experience!!

And some criticism was for NBN Deals, not energy Deals!

            So get your "facts" correct😜

Never had a problem, received all Woolies gift cards from many Econnex electricity Deals for years.

As I have repeatedly commented in these Deals!

    • +1

Econnex is the reason, do a quick search for the old threads here and make your own mind up.

    • +1

Hey Bubbleshark, No catch, you have all the terms and conditions displayed on https://www.econnex.com.au/ozbargain-all-retailers.

  • You will receive the card 120 days later? And why worry about cancelation if your offer is good? And I see quite a few badass money collection agency in their list. Gimmicks.
    Lol

    • Hey ozbar, It is not about the offer, we submit the application to the retailer and due to any reasons they can reject it, So we have to keep track, and that is the reason you will receive gift card after 120 days.

  • +1

@Manyo My parents and I both received our gift cards this morning from your offer posted from 7 July. Thanks Manyo!

      Hey kizashi, Thank you

Might want to read this before signing up with this mob

  • Just checked the gas and electricity pricing for SE Melb on the weekend after I noticed our electricity retailer had jumped from 23.21c to 33c p/kWh last month.
Can't say any of the retailers listed above were even close to the pricing on offer by others… and that $100 gift card would be chewed up in extra bill costs in 2-3 months tops!

  • -1

Didnt know they bump the gift card from 100 to 200 LOL………..

  • any offer coming up on NBN switch? Plan with Exetel ends on 10th Nov

    • -1

any offer coming up on NBN switch?

I have an NBN modem I'm not using…

    • Hey avitherock, we have upcoming NBN campaigns next month, Keep your eye out.

  • Marketing budget must be tight for Econnex to need to spam OzBargain.

Neg for all the previous deals where a large portion of people who signed up did not get paid sign-up bonuses, or get cashback approved from SB and CR (because of Econnex not paying their cashback partners). Refer to @jv link above

Received gift card from previous deal today (107 days after joining).

    • Hey 76F, thank you.

  • Never received previous gift card.

Did receive annoying, repeated phone calls.

Would love to see econnex banned from OzB

    • Hey Zak, please send us your reference number in order to track your application.

      • It was a few years ago. I'm over it now and don't want any further interactions with eConnex. Thanks though.

    • +1

Strange, I've never received any phone calls from Econnex in Energy Deals.
That's over many years of signing up & receiving the gift cards.

      • I recieve spam few times a week from them to a throw away email from a comparison i did a few years ago.

        • But not from these current Energy Deals…
Never received any over last few years of successfully signing up.

Yes, that was a problem complained about long before that.
Guess that above neg about calls might be left over from problem at that time… like yours.

I negged an early Econnex Deal, because of issues back then. Very happy with Econnex Energy Deals now. No issues over many signups & gift cards💰

Remember Rep suggested solution after your previous complaint about this.
Easily solved - so what did you do? Seems nothing as you say you still receive them!!
          Apart from complaining again!

          • @INFIDEL: My point is that they are scammers.

Any company that sends you continous unnecessary spam are scammers and ozbargainers should be aware.

            • @easternculture: They're not.

They don't "sends you continous unnecessary spam".
Did years ago, but fortunately stopped that in Deals before I signed up over 2 years ago!

Just do something about it as the Rep suggested, instead of repeatedly negging & complaining🤔 Kids do that to get their own way!

How would being aware of what happened years ago, but has long stopped - help anyone now as you claim???

            • @easternculture: Lol! You've been repeatedly negging & complaining after missing out an a very attractive up to $270 Woolworths Bonus eGift Card Econnex Energy Deal you definitely wanted…

You tried to sign up @1045pm - after the Deal had expired…
You could have easily got that Deal. I know because I successfully signed up hours earlier.

And argued with Econnex to try to get that Deal…
Not something a person would do if they believed Econnex were scammers (sending you spam emails from years before)!!!

(Ozbargain then automatically & incorrectly listed 23:59 on last day of Deal! They're stopped doing that.)

              Now you claim they're scammers…
But deny the truth behind your hatred of missing the Deal available for days😜

            • @easternculture: Oh boy! You really believe in Sun Tzu's "attack is the best form of defense"🤔

You made up a false accusation that I either worked for, was a friend of, or am otherwise associated with Econnex😜

And said Mods should look into that!
I warned you there could be consequences!

They did… with the above outcome.
Your made up false accusation was unpublished!

Guess you had hoped your conspiracy theory would deflect attention away from your continued attacks on this business after missing a Deal you wanted…

That logic (claiming they were scammers but badgering Econnex to sign you up to their Deal) negates the criticism you make about these Econnex Energy Deals😜

I had answered my interest in these Econnex Energy Deals has a far simpler explanation than your made up theory…
The hundreds of dollars of Woolies credit I receive from these Deals each year for simply switching retailers every 2 months! Easy money💰

[Added to the State Govt rebate of $550 this year, I make a nice profit on my energy bills, without solar😉
Pays for my monthly energy bills, which are only $35 after another rebate😄]

So calls to ban Econnex, based on often unfounded claims… are a concern to me. That could effectively cost me hundreds each year💰

  • @Manyo i requested to switched to Energy Australia on Saturday via Econnex website. Am i still eligible for gift card?

    • Hey softkun123, unfortunately, no, you will not be eligible for the gift card as you have not signed up through the link provided in the campaign, and the offer start date is 23rd oct 2023.

      • Great service Econnex

      • @Manyo tc says "Additionally, all existing customers of Simply, AGL, ActewAGL, and Energy Australia who choose a different plan with that same provider are eligible."

So if I switch to another plan within Energy Australia will I be eligible for GC?

        • Hey softkun123, yes if you upgrade your plan with Simply, AGL, ActewAGL, and Energy Australia, you will be eligible for the gift card.

Please use the link provided in the offer in order to be eligible for the gift card.

  • Don't expect anytbing from econnex

    • Strange, because I've got so many Woolies gift cards - each time through signing up to Econnex Energy Deals💰

  • +1

Ive signed up via manyos link here on ozb many times and I've never had an issue. I got my giftcards yesterday for the ones I signed up a few months ago. You just need to save the reference number and ask manyo for the gift card if you haven't received it after 90 days.

    • Thank you bargaingalor3, people do not adhere to the terms and conditions stated clearly even after constant reminders.

They miss on a deal, and then constantly want to sabotage the campaigns again and again.

      • I read the t&C this time and noticed the 60 days from last change eligibility condition is gone? Is that right? So if I swapped using your link 20 days ago, I'm eligible again? Or maybe I'm just blind

        • Sorry that's a bad example since I have to stay with the provider for 30 days.
Say it's been 30 days, can I resign up without waiting for 60 days

          • @bargaingalor3: If you have stayed with the retailer for 30 days, yes you resign without waiting for 60 days.

            • @Manyo: @Manyo What if I stayed with the retailer for 30 days then signed up with another retailer and they transfer my electricity retrospectively 33 days in the past using a previous meter read. Would I still be eligible for the gift card?

        • Hey bargaingalor3,

In simple words, If you have signed up with Econnex(from any other platforms or ozbargin- energy deals) you will not be eligible for this deal. This was the 60-day criteria, which is not applicable to this deal.

In case the request for a switch or connection cannot be completed or a request is made for the cancellation within the first 30 days from the date of activation the transaction would be deemed invalid and you will not be eligible to receive a gift card.

In simple words, you have to stay with the chosen provider for 30 days ( we recommend this for 1st bill), in order to be eligible for this ongoing deal.

  • I just got my gift cards from the previous version of this deal. It had been so long I'd written them off, but they showed up in my inbox this morning, so that was nice!

Only quibble is that instead of 2x$100 cards, I got 4x$50, which is going to be a (very) minor pain in the arse to redeem.

    • +1

Add them into the Everyday Rewards app, then you can forget about them. You can scan the QR code on the eftpos terminal at Woolies before you start scanning your groceries, then it debits the gift card balances first before your registered bank/credit card for any remainder.

      • +1

        Cheers. That worked a charm.

  • The deals offered to me are worse than what I'm already getting (56% discount off gas with AGL).

    • I only take up the Deals for the incentive to switch retailer. So not so concerned by small tariff increases.
I do that about every 2 months, & not just from these Deals. In all cases, found a retailer around same lower rates as was on.

Everyone's circumstances will differ. Check out all offers, based on your current usage. And see if your current retailer can offer a better deal.

The retailers listed in this offer don't interest me. But I've successfully taken up many other Econnex Energy Deals for other retailers, over last few years.

Incentives & sometimes lower tarrifs, effectively pay all of my energy bills.

      • I'm in WA so am limited only to switching my gas through these kind of offers. We aren't part of the national energy grid here and there is only a single state government owned electricity retailer.

I can't find gas anywhere cheaper than the plan I'm on, nor am I certain that I could get back onto 56% discount later if I wanted to.

I get what you mean though, if I could switch regularly and gain $100 here or there in gift cards, it would negate any slight tarrif increase.

The problem is some retailers (I think Origin?) does a credit check when signing up.

Seems like a lot of messing around.

        • Just beware econnex
First they have servers in India and Phillipines where they could be storing your personal info. There is no privacy laws i those countries.
Also the privacy documents of econnex are vague i remember they mention something in the line off they can give your personal info to contractors etc.

          • @easternculture: Seems you don't understand the complexities in doing business to business business here. The need to exchange information so a task can be done.

            As I've explained before….

To switch energy retailers (in Econnex Energy Deals, or directly with new retailer) - by law the identifying details shown on the old energy bill (name, address, etc), have to be shared with the new retailer to effect the switch.
Plus permission must be granted to show this is what the energy consumer on the bill wants.

            Similar when switching telcos etc.

Shonky agents used to switch energy retailers for the commission - without any right to do that😜
Door to door salespeople would badger vulnerable people to provide their details to change retailers.
The first the consumer knew of the change was when the contract or next bill arrived. Many paid without noticing the retailer had been changed!! Caused a lot of distress. So that was tightened up.

Along with contact details (phone number & email to send the gift cards), those are the only details Econnex has requested from me.
Many Ozbargainers give out those details for a free item in Deals!

Details have to be shared with other businesses…
Without sharing those details with the new retailer, you can't change retailer.
That would mean there would be no Deals to switch retailers!!

        • +1

Ah yes. Gas is a mystery to me. It can only be supplied where I am - by installing large ugly gas cylinders (located near the street).

No record of credit checks for me with any electricity retailer.
But running up unpaid bills is a risk for them. So may check if you are a risk. From my understanding, won't affect your credit score.

As I don't have a complicated electricity supply (no solar), switching retailer is very simple. So I do it frequently & successfully😄

  • Hi Manyo,

Am I eligible for this offer if I switched electricity back in July and gas back in Aug?

    • Hey enhengsoso, yes you are eligible for the gift card if you switch your energy retailer. Please go through the fine print in order to understand the procedure.

      • Thanks Manyo, all done. Electricity Reference Number: 1702950332 Gas Reference Number: 1702950333. Appreciate it if you could advise when I will receive gift cards.

        • +1

Hey enhengsoso, your applications are under process and you will receive a confermation email when the sale is submitted to the retailer.

Eligible Recipients will receive the applicable Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Cards by email up to 90-120 days after applying for both electricity and gas, electricity only or gas only plan.

Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Card is sent via email from [email protected] or [email protected]

Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Cards are valid for 3 months from the issue date and Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Cards are not reloadable or redeemable for cash.

        • They wont tell you, even though its their responsibility.
They hope that you will never see them in your spam box (thats if you are one of the lucky ones they choose to send the GC to) , and depending on arrangement with woolworths group, seek refund when they expire.

  • Am I eligible if I'm signing up but not switching?

    • Hey crackman, please understand you will not be eligible for the gift card if you sign up, as per the offer terms and conditions, you will receive gift card after 90-120 days after switching your energy provider, and you have to stay with the switched provider for 30 days, in order to be eligible for the gift card.

https://www.econnex.com.au/ozbargain-all-retailers, please read the terms and conditions carefully before switching.

  • Finally received $100 from when I signed up here, had my doubts but came through ok and within timeframe.

  • Are you going to have this deal again soon? :) looking to change gas provider.

      • I changed to Simply Energy for electricity 3 days ago! Dammit. If i cancel now because I'm in the cooling off period and resign up can i still get this offer?

        • Hey Cinema28, Kindly Dm us for the resolution.
