This is a comparison between lightning version vs type-c version of Airpod Pro 2
    https://www.loudnwireless.com/blog/airpods-pro-2-usb-c-vs-li…

    Basically not much improvement:

You could be wondering if there is any difference between the AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C and the Lightning connecter version beyond what Apple has advertised. Aside from the different connector, the USB-C version supports 20 bit/48 khz lossless audio when paired to an Apple Vision Pro, and the charging case is dust and water resistant now, unlike the Lightning connector version.

    • Thanks, I didn't even know that there is a difference apart from the connector!

    • That was enough to tip me in to playing the extra $50 for the usbc version at the time. Bought a week ago at $389. Ah, well it was the daughter’s birthday present.

      • Buy another then 'return' the 389 one :)

    could it be fake?

techciti only sells genuine Australian stock. They are same group as Mobileciti.

        thanks for confirming

The only one that I would be careful is Ninja Buy. There was a 'very good deal' for the Sony XM5 ANC headphones that turned out to be a grey import from Japan. Everything works fine except for the initial setup in Japanese language. I managed to get a partial refund though there won't be any local warranty for the headphones.

      • +1

shit ton of them too on ebay.

same question here, there are lots of listing below $200. Just curious how those guys scam and make money from eBay.

        • I tried three times and each less than $300 on eBay with seller feedback up to around 100 and I received all fake but got refunded.

          • @vchar: May I ask how to identify is it fake or not. I recently bought one via bid. By chcking serial number, it looks like covered by Apple and got warranty left. But not sure, is it geniue or not.Thanks.

            • @shoppinginsyd: you can't really use serial number to check as they can hardcode a valid serial number to the fake airpods and I got one with a valid serial too.

the only ways you can tell are:
              1. the price is too good to be true
              2. sellers very likely sell only one or a few airpods, no other products
              3. mostly new sellers
              4. you can actually tell if it is a fake one if you used to own a genuine Apple product before
              5. probably best to take it to an Apple store (not sure if they are happy to verify it for you)

Thanks. $97 coming my way via price protection claim :)

    • do they accept promotion with code? .. and how can you show the final amount

      • Usually I don't even get asked for proof (although I always screenshot proof just in case) - but it's easy. First I take a screenshot of the main page where there is the little button saying what the price is with the code, and secondly a screenshot of the item in my cart with the code applied showing the final price. Never had an eBay claim rejected before.

        • i didnt know it's that easy…i always provide proof of purchase and screenshot of the sales price, i didnt know sales with code will be accepted !!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Which credit card?

      • 28 Degrees, but it is a grandfathered product.

    • What card provides price protection?

    • +1

28degree credit card with price protection insurance - discontinued product.

  • I have the first gen Air Pods Pro. Is it worth it upgrading to these?

    • Wondering the same. Just got iPhone 15 PM so wouldn't mind USB C everything…

      • -1

        I’ve had all 3 versions
        The first Air Pods
        First Air Pods Pro
& now the USB case version & the latest ones are considerably better.
        Better sound, better battery.
        Perfect switching between devices.
        My 2c worth.
        Cheers

    • -2

No, don't waste your money. Hardly even call it an "upgrade".

      • +1

Thanks, will let my 1st gens die then :)

      • To the 2 down voters, do you wanna explain why you think I'm wrong? Or are you just Apple sheep who upgraded because of USB-C?

    • +1

One of the better features of the 2nd gen (over the first) is the variable volume in transparency mode for not getting your eardrums blasted when there is a sudden change in environmental noise. The USB-C version is also features water and dust resistance for the charging case.

    • for usb-c?

      • ah my bad

  • +2

Used my recent "test" gift cards. Thanks OP.

  • Just bought one, stacked with the bonus Celebration Swap eGift Card from giftz.
Shame that I only bought 2 x $100, should have buy more, but it means I paid only $263 for these usb-c version, still a pretty good deal.

  • 5 in stock, better act quick

  • Hoping for a non pro deal soon

  • Should we w8 for Apple Black Friday sale? Last year got the pro to $250 something.

  • Has the code expired? I'm having trouble with payment and no longer taking code on my account.

    • Same here, and price change back to $398

  • Code doesn’t work, ebay plus member here

  • Price has increased

  • Looks like this deal is done, not accepting code anymore.

  • +1

i just paid the $5 to reactive the plus membership then got stuck with stupid work things then missed out :( I guess now we wait for a hopefully similar deal to pop up again

  • ozbargain'd :(
Only bought eBay plus because of this deal but was too late. Anyone succeeded in refunding monthly eBay plus?

  • Out of stock now, code doesn't work on back order.

  • +1

Was literally about to use my Jb vouchers today to get a pair at full price. Vouchers will be used another day. Thanks!

  • FYI you should be able to get this for $297 at Officeworks

    1. Get $300 OW credit buying the celebration giftcard at Coles at 15% off - paying $255
    2. Price beat Costco (selling at $260) at Officeworks - so new price is $342
    3. Paying using the above giftcard with extra $42

    So $255 + $42 = $297 out of pocket.

    Costco link: https://www.costco.com.au/c/AirPods-Pro-2nd-Gen-With-MagSafe…

    • only if you can still find the gift card.. checked 5 Coles all OOS

    • $360 at Costco?
By the way, I heard my friend saying when price matching with Costco, the membership fee need to be added to the total price, any experience on it?

  • Offer expired

  • Damn was going to pull trigger, but needed afterpay to wake up

  • Damn! I've been waiting for an AirPods Pro deal to replace my faulty AirPods that are out of warranty…fingers crossed there'll be another deal that comes up and isn't while I'm at work :(

    • Not sure how old your ones are, but I’ve had luck multiple times getting my AirPods replaced outside of warranty. If you’re close enough to an Apple Store, it could be worth taking them in to get the issue diagnosed, which I’ve had success in getting replacements. I’ve had cases and the AirPods replaced - mine were approx 2.5 years old at the time.

  • Delivered this morning :)

  • received today!!! SO quick

  • Thanks OP got mine today and pass the genuine check on apples website. Wife's Christmas sorted.

  • how to get the invoice? thanks!

    • Ask them?

  • Can anyone confirm if it is aus delivered stock?

    • Yeah was shipped yesterday and arrived today, Aust post tracking shows was sent from Sydney.

      • I have received my order but like previous eBay deals sometimes it is overseas stock, I’ll see if a friend can show me theirs which was bought from jb

      • The boxes look the same so I think it’s local stock intended for aus and not an overseas model

    • Can a call to Apple with the serial number verify if it’s fake or not?

        • what serial number u got?

      • how about on the apple website , when i check the serial number saying

"We're sorry, but we're currently unable to validate your AirPods purchase date"

      • Sorry mate. I just checked again. When I get the airpods out of the case, the left, right airpod and the case can be located separately and they do have that "Find Nearby" option. This is the first time I encountered no popup and the prompt "Software Update - Some features of this accessory require a newer version of iOS." So I was really confused. Now I believe this is a genuine one.
Sorry guys for the misleading reply, I'll delete it later.

However, I am still a little bit confused about the only 1 day to purchase apple care+. With proof of purchase, can I still purchase apple care+ in store within 30 days from now on?

        • All good. We all learn something new each day. Hope I cleared things up.

The AppleCare can be sorted out by calling Apple to readjust the purchase date. Or maybe you can even do it manually through the warranty page.

  • anyone got the tax invoice?
