    Will Black Friday be cheaper?

    • +7

Probably not… These are very good prices.

    • You never know, all you can do is wait and find out.

    • +2

If RBA increases the rate next week, likely being cheaper for Black Friday

      • Not sure that's a worthwhile tradeoff unless you own your own home without a mortgage.

        • Or you are renting with a locked in 12 months contract

    • I say yes, this is only the beginning. Consumer spending is all time low

  • +1

Hoping for some better 55" and 65" OLED deals :(

  • +13

Still way too expensive for full array LED, if it was the X95 (mini LED) it would make it a much better deal.

    • Yeah that seems quite expensive for a x90. You could get a mini led TCL for half that I think. Pretty sure they're not to bad of a tv either?

      • +1

FWIW, Vincent rates the X90 pretty highly:
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9afnA9519o

      • With couch frenzy the TCL c845 85" (2023 mini led - 2000 nits peak brightness) is $3196. Not a bad price, but not the best is been.

And yeah I'll take this TCL over these Sony options. I'll be waiting for black Friday but likely early next year princess for one. And they just released a 98" version, if that goes half price ~6500 that's what I'll get if I can swing it past the missus haha

        • +2

needs to hit around $2700 imo.

          • @TEER3X: You wouldn't believe what it hit earlier in the year then, ~$2500. Was 20% off TCL /hicense weekend and overlapped one day with 20% off buying a sound bar. 85" c845 and soundbar came to $2750

But the 98" has my interest but so I'm saying I didn't miss out, though I'm in denial.

The x95k went for a crazy price last week from sony direct. X95L is out there at pro shops, its the new flagship. The fact they refuse to retail it (and lie about it being here when you inquire) tells me a huge clearance on the k's coming.

      • Not sure this x95k or tcl c845. Maybe comes down to which is cheaper?

      • +1

yeah i got the 75 inch X95k during that sale from Sony. $2599 delivered. Outstanding TV and fast delivery from Sony.

        • Do you know what the 85 inch was going for in that sale? I'm hoping they will do another one (black Fri?)

  • I got 75X90L from good guys last week but yet to pick it up. They are not able to price match as the code is not found on jb website. Also they are asking me to come to the store to cancel the order . What can i do to get this offer pls

    • +1

The code is on the JB home page! It's the first banner, you cant miss it.

  • Would you consider the 77" A95L being worth $3000 more than the 77" S90c? Based on current JB prices. Thanks.

    • -1

Well they're different tech, with the a95l being QD-OLED and the s90c just being normal OLED.

      • +2

They’re the same tech. S90c is like a slightly less fancy s95c but still a QD-OLED panel

        • +1

Oh right, for some reason I had it in my head that the s95c was the qd OLED but a quick good shows that the s90c is it. All good.

    • Would like to know as well.
Interested in 77" oled.. samsung s95c, lg g3, and sony a95L..
Looks like sony takes the cake based on reviews but much more expensive than the others, not sure worth it?

      • A friend asked me yesterday is it even worth getting oled if I watch 90% FTA and basic streaming. Which was when I realised I have no idea. So is it worth it for just FTA? No blu ray movies etc.

        • Not sure but I heard the upscaling is pretty good in modern TV, esp sony processing is the best apparently.

          • +2

@OzFrugie: I pulled the trigger on the x90l.
I always end up buying things with features I don't use so gonna stick with something basic.

    • If you don't care about having the most accurate picture, better image processing (Sony are S-tier for upcaling and motion), then just grab the S90C. If you care about those things, noone can really say what they might be worth to you. I reckon since you're asking the question, probably the S90C will be plenty awesome enough for ya.

      • We live in an age if dogbox quality streaming. They dropped bitrates during covid and never brought them back. Sonys upscaling and bravia streaming platform at like 80 meg fixes both.

        • Idk if the full drop is still in place. Something on Netflix was at 18 or 20mbps the other night, I noticed. It's not the 25-30ish from pre-plague times, but it's also better than the 7mpbs it was at for ages.

    • +1

      Where is this still available?

  • Deciding if I should go for the 75" X90L or wait for the QN85C to go cheaper on Black Friday.

    • +1

neither, wait for the X95k to go on clearance when they bring out the X95L. if you can get it for around $2500, absolute bargain.

      • when? bf?

  • +1

    Thanks!
Picked up the 65” x90L. I got appliances Online to price match as they do free delivery. $1916 might go cheaper Black Friday but I’m happy with what I’ve paid.

  • +1

    Thank you,
Any advice for a well lit room , 85"+ ? Should i get the 2022 mini led ? Or 2023 full array ? Is there a 2023 mini led in 85" or bigger available for a bargain ?!

    • +1

      mini LED over full array.

  • +1

Wish I jumped on the X95K deal :(

  • Tossing up between 85" X80L ($2236) or 75" X90L ($2396).

It might seem obvious to get the 85", but it's hard to find any decent reviews on it compared to the X90L which has better reviews all around.

    • My understanding is x80l is X1 processor whereas x90l is XR. What that means I don't have a clue lol.

      • Yeah apparently the processor is quite a bit faster on the X90L.

Most would recommend to upgrade. But then there’s also the X85L which sits between which is also confusing.

        • +1

Can i introduce you to the x95k and x95L?

  • I could be wrong but the TCL 98" is discounted to $5510.40 with 20% but is eligible for a $1000 dollar JB hifi gift card and a $1000 debit card from TCL. This brings the price to $3510.40 which would be the lowest seen???

  • You could probably price match this on the Sony Website and stack with their 10% off new MySony Account/Member discount

    • I’ve requested a price match. Will report back here!

      • +3

Can confirm Sony Store was able to price match JB and also honour the 10% welcome voucher. Down to $4316.40. Super happy with that price

  • My Sony TV is a 1080p 70 inch maybe 10 years or older

How fast do these new google TV boot up?

Also, if I plug my Apple TV in, can I use the apple remote via CEC to turn on the TV so it boots straight into the Apple TV without going into any of the google etc settings?

    • they boot up in seconds

  • great rpice on the 75x90l, paid $2750 a month ago !

  • i would go for a $3500 55inch a95l. at $5300, it’s just nuts.

    • +1

      Just did that this morning.

Price matched to $4236, stacked welcome 10% code to $3812.40. Cashrewards tracked successfully at $250, bringing it down to $3,562.40. Fingers crossed it'll be approved.

      • where were you able to pricematch?

      • @settings How long did it take for them to get back to you? I submitted the form last night, but haven't heard anything.

        • +1

I initiated a Live Chat right from the product order page. Pretty much instant, once you can get a hold of them that is.

  • The 77 95L is $2.4k off…that is crazy.

    • Is it? Genuine question.
Im interested in this model but not sure whats the good price based on recent history.

This is a recently released model, so may be more discounting later (or not) ? Eg black fri, boxing day, easter, eofy?
Not in a hurry to upgrade..
Anyone has any insights based on historical price drops?

      • +1

If you can wait, then yes, the price may get cheaper. From last year's BF deal, my quick maths saw around 20+% discount.

  • Anyone know the audio delay min and max?

My TCL 835 is capped to -50. I don't need +100 (delay). I need it to come out faster. (tried all settings etc.)

Scared of getting any tv now.

  • Hi all,

Need help to decide. I am after budget TV to replace 15+ years old Sony bravia. Mainly for watching movies, no gaming, as monitor and occasionally watch soccer.

Tossing between Samsung 65" CU8000 (review looks great but score lower in bright room), and Sony 65" X77L (google tv but entry level model)

Which one should I consider between these two models?

    Thanks in advance

  • -5

I wouldn't have another Sony Bravia TV if they paid me. Nothing but trouble. Needs constant rebooting, some apps aren't available for it like they are on, say, Samsung or other brands. Never again.
