Been looking for the "cheapest" way to switch between boost, and since ALDI mobile PAYG now isnt as good as it used to be,

This is the next best thing, as temporary as it may be.

Plan details https://www.lebara.com.au/prepaid-plans/30-day/extra-small-3…

was also available at woolworths about 3 weeks ago

Picked one up in-store today, but cant see it in the catalogue

Good cheap way to port between Boost and Lebara. Paying less than $20 for mobile usage the last 6 months. However, experienced porting issues between the two for the last 2-3 times and needed to contact their customer support each time.

Same here with the porting issue. Doesn't work online but does after contacting them.

      • Every time?

This is a starter kit. So I believe porting won't be allowed?

        • +1

Why not? Since when has there ever been a starter kit that outright disallows porting?

    • Porting issues with Lebara as gaining or losing carrier?

      • +1

Both porting in and out from Boost to Lebara and vice versa. Takes a couple of days to resolve in these instances.

  • timely post. Thanks OP.

  • I wonder if this is part of the Boost crackdown to try and stop this, making the.port out and port in process clunkier.
I got new Boost and this Lebara SIM in the mail today but I don't think I'm up for the drama. Think I will just pay Boost recharge and offload the new SIM

I doubt it, just Lebara being Lebara

  • Does anyone know how long after I purchase this sim I can use it?

    • At least a year. I ported my in the 12th month and it was fine

all the lebara sim I purchased from ColesWorth recently all expire Jan/2025.

But I advice not to stock them unless you can keep track of all receipt from supermarket.

The sim sometime get blocked by their activation system, out of the 8ish I purcased, over half was blocked soon or later, where I need to provide picture of SIM and proof of purchase, in order for them to unlock it.

damn i bought like 2 months ago doesn't work

        • you can get woolies receipt via woolies rewards app, if you do have it, reach out to their online chat, send a email to [email protected] with your proof of purchase, photos of the front/back of the sim packet, they'll sort it out for you

but what a pain with lebara…

Pardon my ignorance but why is Boost>Lebara such an attractive thing?

    • +1

Boost monthly sim for profit, Lebara sim cheapest $ purchase to port out to the following month.

      • Been pondering is this currently the only (cheapest) way to port out and back in?
Waiting for a Kogan Black Friday Sale for a $0 eSim / $2 Sim deal for 1 month.
I've heard it is difficult to cancel Auto-recharge, we can still call them but that means they immediately cancel it. However, porting back from Kogan to Boost should still be fine.

Btw, can we port from Boost to Kogan eSim and then back to Boost physical SIM?

Boost "pays" you to use their service, but only for 28 days - as per all the Ozbargain Cashrewards/Shopback/ZipPay cashback deals

What do you do after the 28 days? Pay full price to Boost? No way

So you look for mates like this to bounce to, to then bounce back to Boost to continue "earning" money while enjoying a mobile service full of data/calls

I picked up one from WWS on Tuesday for $6 and posted mine from BOOST on Thursday. My BOOST was a pre-paid 365-day one which expires today. My porting out to Lebara was almost instant with no issue at all. Looking for a good deal of another 365 day with BOOST in 28 days. Last year I had to call BOOST to port from a 30-day prepaid with Vodafone. Hopefully this time it will be easier.

Just to clarify, my Lebara is a 30-day prepaid of $24.90 discounted to $6 at WWS.

      • BOOST

There's currently a pretty good deal going on Boost 260gb service which may suit your needs.

I tried to port out of boost to Lebara on 14th October and still stuck. Now my boost credit has expired, it's a nightmare.

    Lebara, never again…

  • what's expire date? might getting 2 of this for my relative who gonna stay here few months..not sure when but soon

    • The special at Coles? Might vary by store, my local don't have the special at all but the one I bought mine at had 14/11/23.

The bonus data deal you have to activate by 26/3/24.

Individual sims have their own expiry dates, mine was sometime in 2024.

      • thanks..gonna check out few coles.

telcos do these kind of stuff block sims card like vodafone had stack of them but got block and went to physical store need proof of purchase shit but i don't have it.

  • Adding my experience to the table, ported out from Boost to Lebara on this deal and changeover was instant and hassle free. Confirmation text and welcome email. Lebara app is lightning fast.

    • One thing I don't like about the Lebara app however is it has a bright pink/purple splodge at the corner at the top, so I always think there is a notification in the app.

  • Anyone had any issues with cancelling auto-recharge on Lebara (Small 30-Day SIM)?

  • It is still $4 just bought inside coles

    • Yeah expires tonight COB. Every one on the pegs of my local had expired dates on the sims. I have a bunch anyway (expiring mid 2024) but can't be bothered dealing with possible lebara shenanigans re expired sims.

  • I have been toggling between Lebara/boost for a few months now. no issues.

Have a week and a bit left on my boost. Don't have a new Lebara sim.

If there is no sale next week, whats the next best sim to get?
