        • TCN Grocery can not be added to PayPal unless you are talking about another card. Actually, all TCN cash-like cards can not.

          I doubt anyone would be successful now.

          The Woolworths Group online gift card portal previously used MCC 5411 (Grocery Stores, Supermarkets), which you know is whitelisted on the TCN Grocery gift card.

          However, the portal's MCC at some time within the last few months changed to 5399 (Miscellaneous General Merchandise Stores). When I attempted a purchase a couple of days ago using a TCN Grocery gift card, it was declined; when I checked the TCN app and tapped on the declined transaction, it said under the merchant section:

          Card not authorised for this terminal.

          In other words, it looks like Woolworths Group allowed the transaction to go through and contacted TCN, but TCN declined the transaction, due to the MCC not matching any of the MCCs on the TCN Grocery gift card's whitelist.

  • Hoping to get some advice. Has anyone swapped this gift card to a Wish gift card and used it at EG Ampol? I just did that and was not able to use it there as the barcode is the long one which can only be used in Woolworths. I’ve swapped others via Prezzee to the same Wish gift card (orange background card) and able to use it at EG Ampol but this one doesn’t seem to work. Appreciate any feedback from others, thanks!

      In my experience, you can't scan electronic Wish gift card barcodes at EG. Instead, you need to manually key in the 13 digit in-store card number and PIN into the EFTPOS terminal.

      If you only have the longer 19 digit card number, then the 13 digit in-store card number should be the same number except without the first six digits.

        Ah thanks. Yea I’ve been keying in the shorter card number from previous gift card swaps but this particular one only has the longer number. Didn’t know that you just ignore the first 6 digits, that’s a great tip!

    Anybody had issues redeeming the $10 bonus card? Both I and my wife received the bonus card and when trying to redeem it we both receive an invalid code message.

      I just clicked on the link in the email that I received indicating that I had a $10 gift card to spend.

      Looks like it's a problem with the generic gift card. The link that was working before isn't now (https://card.gift/product/carddotgift-designed-generic) and so neither are the $10 bonus cards

    • Update: Just called customer support and was advised they had undergone some maintenance yesterday and their system is down since. As a consequence, we might not be able to access any access right now either!

        • Yeah, I only made one purchase. No duplicate accounts/emails/phones/etc. There's already been heaps of promos recently so haven't had the need to purchase this. To be fair, I don't actually need this anymore! Was gonna swap it out to Woolies but then I've already racked up $350 Everyday Rewards dollars through buying the Activ VISA cards.

        Check the initial order confirmed email. It should show the promo code unless you forgot to apply It. If you did it, it is the evidence for you to contact support.

  • Update: Called them, stupid guy said ooh it was out of stock and I purchased on 31st (not even last day, yet he said it was last day). Asked for refund then he emailed a $10 bonus card immediately. Fun fact: the vouchers still don't work!

      • Thanks Neoika, oddly enough, I just added a $500 Activ VISA card (purchased from ongoing 10x EDR promo at Woolies) into Google Wallet (with $498 available bal - $2 used by Google for temp verification) and tried tapping into Opal reader. It rejected the card. I found it surprising because I've previously managed to use other Blackhawk network VISA/MC onto Opal readers.

          • @ivyholmes: Thanks @ivyholmes, I used to do that before to save extra 5-6.25% on Opal top up. It was fun whilst I could use these gift cards directly on Opal readers. Maybe they detected abuse and have blocked certain cards. I'll try to call both TransportforNSW and the card support to see if either has any knowledge of what happened tomorrow morning.

    Emailed support regarding the invalid code on the $10 bonus gift card. Just received this reply from them:

    "Thank you for reaching out today,
    On Thursday night we began a large system update and upgrade, this has resulted in some intermittent issues with some of our cards and processes.
    Our IT team is working to resolve this issue and we hope to have it resolved within 48 hours.
    We recommend trying again later and keeping an eye on our Card.Gift website banner for updates (We will remove this error message once this issue is resolved)

    For those who've already redeemed the gift card and code is invalid: I called them yesterday and they fixed the issue for me. I've been able to successfully redeem for the Grocery card. Seems like those who've already redeemed the code before they fixed the issue has to call in.

          I used the online form. I didn't need to share the gift card details, I just explained what happened (ie. purchased $150 gift card as part of the promotion, $10 bonus gift card received but showing invalid code when I tried to redeem).

          • @tbone74: Contacted online support on Tues - didn't share gift card details but still getting invalid code error.

            • @roguej: Sounds like they maybe need to manually fix it for each person. So if not in a hurry can use the online form but will probably take a couple days at least for them to get to it. Or as others have mentioned, call in and it seems they are fixing it on the spot. You'll probably spend more time waiting on the phone than it takes to submit the online form but it will be fixed sooner.

    Tried to submit an online enquiry and got this message:

    "Sorry! We're experiencing a server error right now. Please try again."

  • I had some success contacting the support team. Sent them a message on Tuesday and got a reply back today. The bonus gift card was logged as being sent out the day after purchasing the original $150 card but the email was rejected by my email provider being Outlook.com (maybe their email server got flagged and blocked). They resent the bonus gift card and I was able to successfully redeem it.

    • I've had a long running issue where the gift cards emails are not getting through. I'm also using Oulook.com. The error message they're providing me states I've marked them as junk mail, which is not true. I've even had Microsoft support verify my settings (not that checking the safe and blocked senders list needed help).

      I contact support and they try to resend but it gets the same error. So I receive my gift cards by them manually send a link or copy of the gift card.

      I'm interested in your comment "They resent the bonus gift card". Do you mean they resent using the normal method (eg. It came through in the same manner as the original $150 gift card) or did they manually provide it to you directly through the email from support? I'm interested because if I can find others with the same issue I might finally be able to convince them it's an issue on their side.

      • Pretty sure it's on their end. I still haven't received my $10 bonus, but got my $150 card. Lots of people are having issues it seems.
