  • Unable to add google play to cart. OOS?

    • I bought one a few minutes before posting this deal with no problems. Adding one in an incognito window, signed out worked just now too.

    • I just bought one of each just fine.

    • bought 1 google card just then, still fine.

    • That is what [Kogan First] in the title means.

  • Says I’ve exceeded my limit. I did purchase this many moons ago, so looks like those counters ain’t resetting

    • I had purchased the $5 for $1 Apple Gift Card in the previous deal, but not the $20 one. Maybe that's what's causing the message for you.

    • I got the same for the Google play card, but from the most recent deal

If you have bought these previously you can’t buy another one

    • I've updated the post. Thank you.

    • I bought them previously, bought again.

  • I’ve got a $100 Kogan credit from a failed previous purchase.

Any ideas if I can buy this?

    • +1

Yes. It’ll use your credit for payment in the checkout screen. If it’s some credit voucher you’ll need to apply it to your account first.

    • Yep I used credit

  • unable to place the order, says exceed the purchase

Kogan won a shonky award today.

      Just today?

      • Lol. Here are the details… I cant say they are somewhere I regularly shop myself.

        • Isn't it wonderful that you have to actually 'Opt' out (by unchecking Kogan First box) rather than checking it if you want to join up.

It disappoints me that the ACCC still allows Australian companies to ply these anti-corrosion measures to gain a few sheckles by trickery. This practice has been going on for far too long with many complaints over the years to the ACCC.

Unfortunately this is not the first time that I have experienced Kogan's shonky practices. About 10 years ago I purchased Kogan's own brand gift certificates as Christmas presents for family members. A week after Christmas and about a month after they were purchased, they could not be redeemed as they were "Expired", even though they had not expiry date printed on the actual certificates, only buried deep on the Kogan web-site's T&Cs. It took a complaint to the NSW Office of Fair Trading and about 2 months to get a refund of more gift certificates, also without expiry dates.

Thank heavens for Choice highlighting their practices, because I would run a country mile to stay clear of them. I bear no goodwill toward them.

what is this? Gift cards for ants?

  • Was about to buy but then stopped - Apple (of no use to me), Google Play (TBP says hello).

  • You have to be a Kogan First member (gross). Does this make it [Targeted]?

    • No because it can sign up for a trial right now and purchase it

  • Since I ordered the Google Play credit a few months ago it won't let me do it again. That's a bummer.

  • I can't pay using any methods. Tried with both my phone and PC. Wtf is happening. Never used Kogan before

  • Slightly off the topic but how long does it take for Kogan Customer Care to reply? I purchased an item that's damaged and raised it. It's been a few days and still silent. Anything I can do? Since there's no email nor can call them.

  • the cards are sent physical?>

    • +3

No, they are digital. They take a while to come through usually.

      • +1

what is the sender/subject in the email when the gift card is sent?

      • Yeah I'm still waiting for the card to come through before cancelling First trial.

  • FYI, Kogan First got a 2023 Shonky Award from Choice magazine couple days ago. Basically (if you don't have access to Choice):

How about a box you need to untick to avoid getting a surprise $99 fee two weeks down the line? This is exactly what's happening with the Kogan First subscription program.
Here's how it works. You try to buy something on Kogan or Dick Smith's online store. You go to the checkout section. A "free shipping" option is ticked by default and you think, great! Free shipping!
But here's what you might have missed if you skipped the fine print: you've actually just signed up to a two-week trial of Kogan First. And if you don't cancel before those two weeks are up, you're about to be stung for $99.
So we did a test. We asked 19 shoppers to head to the Kogan website and shop as they might on any website. A shocking six of those 19 accidentally signed up to Kogan First. None of them were aware of what they had done and, crucially, none of them knew they were set for a surprise $99 charge two weeks later.
We believe it's all too easy for companies to entrap customers in schemes like these.

Still no sign of gift card…

      Neither. We’re in this together.

Apple GC just came in, redeemed without issues.

    Finally $5 google money in.

  • Anyone got Kogan's contact number ? I tried to follow up with one of my order stuck with payment and should have been sent on 3/11, have lodged 3 enquiries via their dashboard since 3/11 and no response. Will @stickyfingers be able to help please ? Thanks

    • I don’t have any details, sorry.
My OzB association is for Apple, not Kogan.

      • Thanks

Am I able to use lots of emails to buy lots of the $1 Google Play $5 Cards? or will kogan know something fishy is up?

  • thanks OP
