On sale from Skyworth is this indoor WiFi IP camera that's a better alternative to the previously popular Xiaomi C300 3MP PTZ Camera. These are good for indoor use, as a baby monitor or pointing out a window if you don't want to hardwire a camera outside.

Featuring a 5MP sensor with 3K resolution, 360° pan/tilt, IR LEDs for night vision, motion sensor with human detection/tracking, inbuilt speaker/mic for two-way audio, WiFi 2.4GHz/5GHz dual band support and according to the comparison an AU plug with a USB-C cable for power.

For storage it supports microSD card up to 512GB, cloud storage via the AI camera app and ONVIF support for NVRs.

If you haven't heard of Skyworth before, they're well known in China as one of the big Android TV providers and have a heap of OLED TVs including this one made famous by Linus. Only recently have they got into the security camera market.

  • ONVIF, nice

5Mp but only 1080p, thought it'd be higher than that at like 2.5 or 3K

    • Their product page says FHD so I'm assuming 1080p. At least the image should be pretty clear at 5mp.

      • It should be higher than 1080p if the sensor handles it. My IMOU bulb is also 5MP sensor but it's doing at least quadHD. Unless they listed the specs wrong

EDIT: Just scrolled further down and they say 3K. That makes sense now.

          Ah yep 3K makes sense. If it's like my Imou Rex 3D 5mp then it'll be 2688 x 1620 as "3K".

  • How would this compare with my Tapo c210? I can see the specs for this Skyworth are better, but the app might suck.

    • Can confirm c200 is good for the price

  • Is anyone able to connect the camera to their home WiFi network? Mine always fails after successfully getting the network information through the app.

    • Are you using WPA2? A mate couldn't get a device to connect via WPA3.

      • WPA2 = no security

        • +1

Wouldn't that be Open System? WPA2 is fine, is enough and is widely compatible. Try it and see if your camera connects.

The evil hackers won't get you while running WPA2 for five minutes ;)
