Not the cheapest but still a good price. I have two of these and three USB-A port versions - still going strong. Just bought another one to replace my USB-A version.

Coupon available under "Special offers and product promotions" on the product page which brings the price down to $28.99.

    • That's a different product without the USB-C

      • +1

        Yes… I know… " 3x outlet 3x USB A"
        :)

        Alternative option…

They are solid too, have used them for years. But, I'd pay extra $4 to get a USB-C port with 20W output considering most devices have shifted away from USB-A.

  • For powering a laptop by usb-c what sort of watts are required?

    • I need to know this also, I wonder if the existing power supply can provide some useful info?

I would guess a 100w charger is needed.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

    • +1

I’d say only laptop that you can charge with 20W is Macbook Air.

      • 14” MacBook Pro charges from 15W pd from monitor. Barely keeps up in light use though.

    • +1

I work with my MacBook 14 m2 on an IKEA 40w charger and it works fine

    • +1

60w min for any laptop to keep running, charging might be slow for big laptops

    • I use the Heymix 65w charger on my Dell Precision. It's slow charging but works. It's in the TV room so everyone uses it for the phones and laptops when they are there. It also does super fast charge on newer samsung phones and tablets

  • Type G plug type - that’s UK?

    • Probably product description copy and paste done wrongly by Mostly Melbourne. It’s an AU seller and my previous purchases were AU plugs.

      • +1

It’s the china plug, so AU upside down

        • Without the added protection that comes with the AU style plug. Often thinner too. Still good powerboards.

Another option with same output in a different form factor: https://www.amazon.com.au/LENCENT-Charging-Extender-Outlets-…

    • -1

That one doesn't take international plugs and has gimmicky, impractical shape. Hardly comparable.

  • +1

best power board you can travel with.

  • Good timing. USBs on my old one all stopped working after about 6 years, annoyingly while overseas. Can't find any obvious fix.

The socket standard in China is a combination of Australian and Japanese standards. China's voltage standard is also 220-240v. Therefore, all sockets designed for China can be used normally in Australia, and at the same time, you can also use appliances with the Japanese standard with them.

    • +8

Japan uses 100v and US style ie, | | plugs. Not sure what standard you are talking about, but many Japanese appliances will not work in Australia, unless thier power supply is a universal one.

    • +4

China is similar to Aus, the same shape, but their prongs are slightly longer, and upside down compared to us. Generally compatible.
Some places still use UK plugs.

I've never seen a Japanese (US) style plug in China.

  • I ordered 1 Thanks 🙏

  • +2

This one doesnt have slots for EU plugs anymore - makes it kinda pointless now. It is only AusNZ China and US style

    • Woah, thanks for the heads up! Yeah, hard pass for me.

    • Oh wow that’s a bummer!! I didn’t even check!! Damn! What a downgrade!!

    • I just received mine - still has EU plug despite the main photo of the product!

  • I have this and it is great. That said, it does not meet Australian standards so you can buy from China to import and use it yourself, but it is illegal for "Mostly Melbourne" to import and then sell it within Australia. Big fines if they get caught.

  • I don’t see $8 coupons anymore
