Highly recommend going to a psychiatrist to discuss the emotional turmoil and damage you've received, as that's the only way to sue a company for damages in the event of data breach (that is, until relevant Privacy Act changes are made: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/sep/27/austr…).
Please also be prepared for AHM to allow your medical and claims history to be published in the Internet.
Other companies just leak your ID details, which can be replaced. Unfortunately AHM won't cover the cost of a new medical history if there's details that are embarrassing or that might affect the ability of your children to get a job or to get insurance in the future.
They will, however, give their CEO a bonus for saving money on IT security.
