Yeah, nah. If you read their Critical Information Summary document you will see that there is an $8 fee to port out. WTF?
That's pretty weird but even if you take that into account and port out at the end of the 6th month it's still just $6.33/mo for 6 months.

@dealhunting007: Optus doesn't do that anymore…that link was from 2007. I got stung by a $11 port out fee when I left TPG last year. The worst thing is that I couldn’t even find it in the contract. At least Southern Phone actually says it in their contract I guess.

Would I be able to receive texts travelling overseas?
In the Promotion Terms it writes:
Does the discount still apply if sign up before 31 Jan but activate the service in Feb after receiving the SIM in post (port-in number)?
Also must activate the service within 30 days of purchase:
$6.33 pm once i pay $8 to port out. Not a bad deal really, as it's not hard to set a data limit on your phone.
