    Giftcards.com.au perhaps ?

    • No. In-store at Coles.

  • +6

Around 5% for $100 at best? Not as good as previous ones.

  • +8

    HODL !!!!

  • +4

No real value saving but can be circumstantial saving for some.

Also good if you need immediate access to extra VA points without actually paying for them.

Only good if you have to meet a spend purchase on your credit card or using these save you any processing fees. Eg: my strata rates via DEFT charge 1.5% on a CC but only 0.4 on prepaid cards

  • +20

    $5 & $7 Fees Apply

    No deal, goodbye.

    • Yeah pay $5 to get $10 (plus the stuff around), lol.

      • +3

It's useful to pay Ato as you get full points instore when buy the gift card.

        • -2

          Dunno

          • +2

@G-rig: What do you mean? If you pay ato with Amex for example bigger charge and also I think half points. Better off with these cards as you get full points and very small surcharge (cancelled by the the Coles discount).

            • +1

              @fozzie: ATO bill?
              Don't have Amex.
Sounds like 5% off anyway as people have calculated below.

              • +1

@G-rig: Yes, if you ATO bill and you want to use the credit card for points you will not get points or half them. Hence the coles mastercard is perfect in that scenario. Otherwise not worth it you are correct.

                • -2

@fozzie: Oh right. Got a bit of a bill so I don't think they would want part payments from different sources I guess but could be wrong. Paid in full and all at once is ideal.

                  • +2

@G-rig: ATO does accept payment from these cards even for large liabilities.

                    • -1

@Yola: Cool was playing on paying several payment before the due date perhaps, will have to see if the is anything special to do. Still don't see the stuff around saving $5/$100.

                      • +2

@G-rig: You can pay direct to the ATO through mygov and easypay and even get a little bit of interest. Limit 10 per 12 hours for each. It is a lot easier with the digital GC's from the giftcard.com 10% off deals.
                        https://www.governmenteasypay.gov.au/payATO

                        • @Yola: Ok I see now, the 10% off would cover the interest fees, no point getting flybuy points then. Those giftcard deals come along fairly often.
                          Cheers

                        • @Yola: Yes and the charge it’s only 0.20%
Of course 10% from giftcards.com.au is much better.

                          • -1

@fozzie: Ok may consider that, 0.2% is really nothing anyway though. Not worth stuffing around with flybuys though (as I said, $5 fee to get 2000 points/$10), never end up spending them. Interesting to know to use them in Coles to pay you need the physical card.

                            • +2

@G-rig: I use them to get velocity points. You could also use them to get money off your bill (not sure if off gift cards though, definitely food etc).

                              • +1

@fozzie: Yes, you can use them to buy GC's and occasionally they even have discounts on how many points you need to purchase them. Also if you set up a Flypays account you can use the points to pay for online purchases from Coles, Target, KMart and perhaps others in the group.

                                • -1

@Yola: Don’t use flypays, it’s badly implemented & capped at $50 (the last time I used). Easier to convert to flybuys dollar and buy coles myer giftcard at Target/Kmart for online purpose

                              • -1

@fozzie: So do you earn velocity points as well as FB when you buy these Coles Mastercard Gift Cards?
Just had a look in the flybuys app - so you convert FB points to velocity points?
I don't fly that often and would get more use out of converting FB points to dollars and use for groceries or something.

                                • +1

@G-rig: Correct, I convert flybuys to velocity. Even flying within Australia works out much cheaper, but I bought one way tickets with velocity to Europen and Bali and it was much cheaper. Personally I would rather use the points to fly. You can spend for shopping or even gift cards within flybuys app.

I also still get Amex points, which wouldn’t happen if I paid Ato directly. My bill is small but every little helps.

                                  • +1

@fozzie: That's fair- I don't fly that much these days but will consider it (only got about 11k points)

                                    • +2

@G-rig: Just have a browse on virgin (choose pay with points). Example: one way Sydney to Rome in economy with Eithad/Qatar is approximately $820 worth of points (82.000) plus about $280 tax. If you buy direct the same ticket would probably be around $1500-2000. Also cancellation for a small fee compared to being charged a lot (depending on ticket). Same for domestic. I think of my points as a piggy bank, where I am saving for my travels.

                                      • @fozzie: Use these cards to launder payments to AmEx Edge card, which would earn at $1 = 1 Singapore Airlines mile, the highest earn rate possible.

                        • @Yola: hello, just wonder is it cheaper to use this easypay gov site or load it to paypal then pay it?

                          • @Djpilot: The website is easy, only 0.2% card fee
                            just have a look.

  • +1

Anyone know if I can pay off my Optus cancellation bill with these?

    • Yes. I have done this before. Paid from my optus.

    • Your calculation can't be trusted considering your last question topic.

    • +1

Where do you get $18 from? Looks like a $3 saving on the $250 card and $5 on the $100 card to me?

      • I think they'd re going with 20x points and not a flat 2000

        • Yeah, my bad! I thought it was 20x LOL

          Didn't realise it was a flat $10 aka 2000

    • +2

So 2000 points are worth $10. So 10-7 is $3 saving on $250 card

      On a $100 card it's $10-5, $5 saving.

      • He said targeted 5x flybuys bonus points offer also applies to it before.

        • That they have been saying for a while now….

        • +3

Only one still stack with this is fuel docket. We can’t even get those bbq credits

  • +1

    Meh.

  • Bloody hell WAians been shafted all year long and come BFriday this is all we got.?.?.?

    • +1

I am with you. Waiting to pay my council bills :(

  • +14

I just found $3 on the road. Technically beating this deal.

  • +1

Hopefully can buy these with Visa Activ cards, then use the $100 cards to buy the 10% off cards at Aldi for the triple stack.

    • +1

Visa Activ should work within limit. That westfield eftpos, not too sure

      • -1

Thanks, I'd be keen on that too. Have you tried/tested this already?

    • +3

I bought them with Activ Visa last time this promotion ran.

  • +3

Give us the 10% off back!!

  • It's a prepaid master card, suppose to be able to buy anything anywhere accepting master card, offline at least;
It's a gift card, can not be used to buy other gift card.
So are you able to use this to buy more coles prepaid master card

    • +2

No. Coles closed that loophole. U can’t keep buying this card using the same type of card.

  • -1

    $100 + $10 points - $5 fee = $5 bonus (9.1% discount)
    $250 + $10 points - $7 fee = $3 bonus (1.2% discount)

    • +4

      $5 off $110 spend = 4.45% off

      • +4

My bad. I was too quick and miscalculated. Thanks.

        $100 + $10 points - $5 fee = $5 bonus (9.1% 4.8% discount)
        $250 + $10 points - $7 fee = $3 bonus (1.2% discount)

        • Your percentages are the only correct ones here so far Bii 👌

  • +6

Just got CBA offer for spend $100 get $5 back at Coles, so can potentially stack with that

    • Got this too, thanks

  • Can these be purchased with flybuy dollars and still get the 2000 flybuys bonus? Or would that be too risky?

    • +4

No, u can’t pay this with flybuys dollar. It’d say invalid payment method or so

      • +1

Invalid Product Mix i believe is the exact error message.

  • -1

I just found out the physical $100 Coles MC cannot be linked to shopback to buy Activ supermarket card. Previously I can link the digital $250 MC card. Does shop back change the rule recently or something to do with the physical card?

    • +1

U probably link too many? There are limit on how many u can add within a period of time (I don't know the exact number)

    • It always only worked sometimes when I tried to add them, probably no different now. Didn't have anything to do with a limit on adding them from my experience.

    • I can't link the $250 Coles MC to shopback and I've never had problems before

      • same, I don't have problem linking physical or the e version but now I cannot link either

        • I hope it's just temporary! Was good linking them for other gift cards too :(

    • +1

Just added one no problem, and successfully bought a supermarket card with it.

      • Still wont let me, been trying to add $250 cards

        • +1

You've triggered a cooldown period, I got 5 in and triggered it, I won't be able to add any more for 7 days now.

          • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: Thats good to know. I just don't know why I'm in a cooldown when I haven't got any linked and I couldn't link any further.

            • @attalisie: Did you remove any recently?

              • @wavesgreen: A couple of old cards that were added months ago and empty

                • +1

@attalisie: Removing cards and then trying to add a card can trigger cooldown, happened to me last time this promotion was in stores.

                  • +1

@wavesgreen: Ah ok, really appreciate your help. Will make sure I remove cards when they're empty rather than when a good offer comes along!

                  • -1

@wavesgreen: I thought that was the case to, but a few months back I couldn't add due to having to many cards already linked, deleted around 8 and was then able to add more again.

    • Successfully added to ShopBack on both accounts and used to purchase Activ Visa Supermarket cards today.

  • Don't count on it staff will hoard the cards again like always good finding stock

    • +4

If it was the 10% off deal maybe, not with this bonus points offer.

      • Yep plenty at my local, just like the last time this deal was in stores.

  • -1

Anyone knows / has experience if this can be used to pay Brisbane Strata that is run by a company called SSKB ? They do have a payment portal and was wondering if I could do partial payments? Although for a 100$ payment there is a 1.50$ fee. =_=

  • Do any employee know if you can use the mycoles discount on these?

    • +1

      No you cannot

    • +3

Nah, discounts of any sort (coles staff discount, wesfarmer discount etc) will not work on catergory of Giftcards.

    • -2

Although the answer is provided, it doesn't hurt to use it.

      Last in-field test

  • Not the greatest deal as I was hoping for 10% discount like Aldi

  • Next ATO PAYG tax instalment due end of January, every instalment is paid into the same BPay account. Can I buy these and pay into the account before the statement comes out to reduce the risk of hacking?

    • +3

Yes, that's what I do every time these deals are available. Adds up to a very nice saving over the financial year.

    • +1

      same BPay account

You can pay direct to the ATO through mygov and easypay and even get a little bit of interest.

  • Anyone know if it's 5 cards per account

    per transaction?
    per day?

or for the whole promo period?

    • +2

Always good to read the terms:

Limit 5 Gift Cards per Flybuys account.

      • Right, and does that limit apply for the whole week it's on sale?
