          That was a once-off.

          For later discounted Coles Mastercard / Vanilla Visa gift card deals at Coles (e.g. this one from June 2023), you needed a fully registered Flybuys card to take advantage of the discount. Temporary Flybuys cards did not trigger the discount.

      yes you do. it's essentially turning your flybuys physical card into an eftpos, so it becomes easier to spend the balance, regardless the amount spent

          I was told by someone last week that they triggered the Invalid Product Mix error when trying to use Flybuys Dollars to pay for a gift card at Kmart.

          I tested it a couple of days ago at a Kmart and also saw the error message.

        If you have an issue with a Coles Mastercard gift card, 07 5660 6022 is the correct number to call, because that is the support phone number for Coles Mastercard gift cards. I talk more about phone numbers here.

        If your gift card activation request says approved on the purchase receipt, it means that the gift card was activated correctly. If you then get an error message when you try to check the balance on the balance check website and you get a message on 07 5660 6022 when checking the balance saying there is an issue with your card, it means your gift card has been blocked. You need to speak to someone on 07 5660 6022 to have them unblock the gift card.

        If your gift card activation request says declined on the purchase receipt, it means that the gift card activation request was declined. The Coles store that sold you that gift card needs to refund you or exchange your dud gift card for another Coles Mastercard gift card, although you may need a duty/store manager to authorise this. If the Coles store refuses to help you, call Coles Customer Care and explain to them that your gift card activation was declined at Coles and the store is refusing to help.

        I would also suggest you double check that the gift cards you have are the ones you actually scanned and paid for at Coles. For example:

        • If you purchased multiple Coles Mastercard gift cards in one transaction and you double-scan one gift card, Coles’ checkouts may not warn you that you have scanned the same gift card twice.

        • If a staff member scanned one gift card and then sneakily swapped it out for a gift card that was not scanned and handed that to you, it means the gift card you purchased is not the same as the one you possess. (I only mention this, because a Coles staff member told me someone at their store was once fired for doing this.)

        07 5660 6022 is the only number you ever need to call, but make sure your cards loads are approved before calling.

    I bought 5*$100 gift cards on Monday and just realised only the 525 points got posted, not the bonus points. Anyone experiencing a similar issue? Not sure if it's just a delay or I need to contact support

      i had the same issues. they told me you have to buy one $100 and one $250 together to receive the bonus point. I can not refund this card neither.

                    @attalisie: I've been inceptioning the same cards over time for quite some time now, just load everything I get into SB 5 a week, each round I end up with more than I started with(pay activation fees with zip pay + buy a coupla more).
                    Started this round with 1300 of SB/TCN's enough for 13, will have 1600 for the next round + should be able to inception at least another 8 next time.

                      @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: Thats awesome. I'm still learning how to do all that stuff. I had previously used 2x $250 MCGC to buy 2 x $200 shopping visa card on SB that were ready to go. I then did that again so in total was able to get 8 $100 Coles MCGCs

                            Yes I only use manned checkouts, even the staff cannot over ride the splitting payment issue of self serve.

                              @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: Thanks so much for the help! I don't get Vanillas in my state. I do add Coles MC to PP for prezzee and ww GC's. Recently learnt how to split payment on PP too for cards that didn't have enough balance. I always saw people say going to manned is at the discretion of the worker if they will split so I just went to self-serve.

                                        @attalisie: Tcn grocery, never seen a discount, just no fees, it's a fallback to continue inception, and they are pretty quick to hit you with a cooldown period but it doesn't seem to last a week.
                                        Prep em all in SB for 2.2% discount, and fallback on TCN when you can no longer add Coles MC's to SB during the promotion.
