          It's much more than that when you factor in buying them with discounted Activ Visa Cards or AMEX and racking up points as others have told you. It all adds up and every cent the tax man doesn't get his hands on is a delight.

          You could even inception away a small bill if you wanted to with multiple flybuys accounts, although it's sounding anecdotally like maybe ShopBack have closed that loophole.

      Even the 2000 pts promo in term of $/time is significantly higher than what most (if not all) working/middle class can earn. And remember it is discount so tax free as well.

          Lets say you've got spend $30 get 1000pts, and 5x, activate both and spend on NOT giftcards and both will apply, you'd get 1000pts and 5 x 30 pts but none of that will apply to buying giftcards.

          I tested this myself in September and I did not see the instant $10 off prompt when purchasing a Coles Mastercard gift card, but I saw the prompt when purchasing more than $10 worth of groceries a minute later in a different transaction at the same checkout.

          I am hardly surprised by this, because the linked webpage above says that you need to spend $10 or more in the transaction, but any spend on gift cards is excluded.

              Keep in mind there are two different Flybuys instant discount redemptions options at Coles:

              • The one for Coles Financial Services customers (which is has be around for years).

              • The one for all Flybuys members (which was introduced earlier this year).

              Most of the comments you would have seen would have been for the CFS redemption option.

        Theres limitations with the blackhawk powered visas, if you do a transaction with them then try another transaction in the same store within 10minutes it declines, also anything over 400 declines, not sure if it's 400 on the dot or 399.99.

        so this card was linked in shopback with no problem, but i did 5 transaction, then i removed this card and try to link to my husband shopback account. But the paypal and medibank both transaction didn't work. In the receipt all cards have been approved. I wonder why.

    If buying a $100 Coles MC GC you can use $10 Flybuys points if you have them so cost is $95 for $100 card, and get $10 FB points. Good discount using the Coles MC for paying off Council Rates!

          There are two different Flybuys instant discount redemptions options at Coles:

          1. The one for Coles Financial Services customers (which has been around for years).

          2. The one for all Flybuys members (which was introduced earlier this year at a number of Coles stores).

          My guess is that @attalisie is talking about (2), because in my experience, that instant redemption option will not appear if you are only purchasing a gift card.

          There is also the option to convert your Flybuys points into Flybuys Dollars, but that is a completely separate redemption option.

I wasnt expecting it to work, but thought Eddie got it to so tried again. I came prepared and brought a $10 note to "split payment" at a self serve and then used the shopback visa card to pay $200

        A checkout lady said you need the physical card to redeem flybuys as cash to pay for groceries.

      It'd always ask approval for giftcard, but u can do 3 at once to save time a bit (unless u want more fuel docket). Don't go over 3, as it'd ask further approval from supervisor. I normally do 3/2 when buying 5

          That must of been single payment? Split payments on these GCs at self serve cause an issue I've read somewhere else, I never use self serve for these as I have to split payments.

    Quite extraordinary
    I bought one today, luckily i opened it.

    It has a card inside about 2cm x 3 cm just enough to contain the visible barcode printed on it

    Real pain the store tells me call the card company, card company demands the card details, which are not on the blank barcode plastic piece.

    So now stuck calling coles national service support

        Opened at home, found the phone number for card manufacturer a horrible 2 hour call
        where most time was spent explaining that 4 digit postcode is not a mistake and no i haven't forgotten my post code last digit.

        they will process a list/stolen and send a replacement. Blocked the old.

        I actually reckon someone to the card cut it in half leaving enough for the card to activate
        Taking enough to have the card number cvv exp. And magstrip

        I didn't see any damage or tamper but inside the tape and glue was certainly unusually binding tearing the terms paper and package.

                @hanofee: It is a Woolworths restriction.

                Items Not Allowed is the error message you will see if you try to use a payment method that Woolworths does not want you to use for the item(s) you are wanting to purchase. This error will appear as soon as you swipe or tap a card, which means that Woolworths will not even bother contacting the card issuer to attempt payment. If you think about it, it is equivalent to the Invalid Product Mix error you may see at Coles or Kmart or Officeworks, etc.

                For example, you cannot use any eftpos gift card using 502125 as the BIN to purchase a WISH gift card at Woolworths. Physical TCN eftpos gift cards are one such eftpos gift card, and that has nothing to do with Blackhawk Network.

Are we also able to do split payment when we buy ultimate I probably would get 350 ultimate on the variable trying to see if I can get $100 Coles Master card 4 times if not probably will get one 250 as 250 will be easier to find and will try split 100 or 250 dependingon what I can find and then do rest on the bank card if that works need to try.
