Are we going to see this posted on every SD deal now?! Most people had their orders cancelled, so it doesn't even count.

      • Damn, I didn't know most people got their orders cancelled. That sucks!

Yeah, this. "The gold standard is this one nobody got!" #EveryTime

Muzeeb from Dell and a Alienware 38" Curved Gaming Monitor - AW3821DW for $249.01 has entered the chat.

@seamonkey: Muzeeeb is king, he got me 3 of those monitors

            • @Thunder-Wombat: Bragger. I still wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night from that deal. Send me 2 and we'll consider my tears forever dry.

    • It was. Still using mine from that deal!

I got a Stream Deck XL on Marketplace for $100, girl was selling her ex boyfriend's stuff and priced it to the 15 button one lol

Great price. I use one of these for work, and general computer control. Works very well, especially when you pair with custom AutoHotKey scripts.

Just out of genuine curiosity, what does this do that standard custom keyboard shortcuts don’t? I see people loving this product but can’t work out the actual use case

      • I mostly use mine for productivity. You can also get them to show you stats with dynamic text. I have a button to show me how many unread emails I have, open tickets at work, indoor and outdoor temperature, smart home light statuses etc. I also use remote desktop software that captures all your key strokes, so you can have it operate outside that.

        • Thank you for the reply. So sort of like an interface for IFTTT or the like?

@mtr: It can be, but it can also be anything else you want.

In a flight sim, it's an autopilot panel that can show you current heading, altitude set, etc.

Press a button it's now an instrument gauge showing speed, fuel, etc.

Racing game? All your buttons for adjusting brake balance, traction control, turning things on and off (lights, pumps, ignition, hwatever)

Streaming? Mute your mic, trigger a new camera, overlay, sound effect.

Profesionally, they've all but replaced control surfaces, particularly in live broadcast for triggering new camera angles, mics, transitions, graphic overlays, etc etc.

The list goes on and on and on and the community is always finding new things.

You have a keyboard with configurable interactive and context sensitive lcd buttons, touch strip and dials? Please send links as I'd like to buy one…

I really wasn’t having a go. I just feel old and out of touch whenever I see this come up and so was trying to get a better sense without going down a YouTube rabbit hole

          • @mtr:

I just feel old and out of touch

These things are actually an extension of old fashioned tech. If you've ever edited video or audio, or seen it done on TV shows (ie usually in music videos, 'making of' movies docos) you'll see sliders and dials being used to manipulate and edit the source footage because the tactile input is far more accurate and efficient than a keyboard button.
So devices like these are a digital version of the old school analog mixing desk. If you are doing lots of content editing/production, they are a must have.

  • I paid $259 (on sale) from Amazon on 01/11/23.

Why does the price keep jumping up to $259 even though it's still in stock at the listed price and I have Prime?

EDIT: 5 minutes after I first commented, looks like the price has expired.

  • Have heard good things about it, this is a great deal to try it out.

  • Damm, I would have jumped on this to join my 3 x standard and one XL :-D

  • Good price - thanks OP.

I'd love something like this for wfh, but work IT policies limit me plugging it into my Windows laptop.

Had toyed with pairing it with a Raspberry Pi to control lights/AC/etc around the house, but looks like Linux support for the plus editions isn't as well reverse-engineered as for the OG models. Oh well.

So funny the people that buy this crap and stream for a total of 1 person, themselves.

They sure do like selling the illusion of being a streamer.

  • Damn, tempting. What are functional differences between this and good old deck xl?
