There's 98% cashback on both NordVPN & Surfshark. I don't see a reason why you have to pay $189 AUD when you can have a better rated VPN for 2% of the price.

NordVPN and Surfshark are the same company. VPN companies are known to own VPN review sites. If you want the illusion of privacy go cheap. If you want actual privacy you will need to pay for it. If something is free or cheap then your information is the real cost.
oops sorry, I didn't mention but the only reason why I need a VPN is for geo-restricted streaming, torrent, etc. True privacy is gonna be extremely hard to achieve. Companies (both local/brick&motar/online) are sharing your data 24/7.
In online security and privacy there's no such thing as perfection, it's about minimizing attack surfaces.
