Thanks mate…I had my eyes on this one for my parents… this should be more than enough for them.. cheers

  • What about motorola g54 5g comparing to this?

  • What are the chances it'll be sold out before the 15% discount starts on Wednesday? Decisions…

wont sell out but the sale end in 5 hrs so it will be back to $699.. hence no chance

      • ah thanks, but the mega price blitz is still the same price, hopefully that lasts till Wednesday.

I bought the A54 from this deal.

Upgraded from the A51. Shocked by how much heavier the A54 is. Using it now and my hand is aching a bit. Apart from the weight and bulkiness, happy with it.

  • I've been subbing to wait for a pre Christmas deal on the A54. This will do for my daughter to update her old realme 5 pro. Decent at under $500, not decent at $699. Just finished checkout on a violet one.

Oppo make high quality phones but be ware that their updates mess with your phone OS and in addition they add restrictions to the user functions.
Something that really infuriates me is their photo APP, there were no options to reduce photos' resolution (and sizes) then with the following update they restricted the APP even more by eliminating the settings to reduce the video resolution.
I don't understand what kind of intelligent morons work there, I make a photo (resolution locked) which I may not forward by e-mail because the size is too big!

    • Thanks for spreading the word.
That crosses oppo off my list for a new phone for my daughter….

      • The latest update was broke because after upgrading (1.5GB), the phone is left in a loophole and keep asking to update which I done several times until I gave up.
The only solution is to take the phone to one of their authorised repairers who obviously will reset the phone so you loose everything unless you do the stressful work of backing all your chats, messaging, photos, videos, APPs etc. etc.
I would look into a Motorola because right now they have the best rate for value for the money, but always do your own research.

Thanks. Was considering the A98 5g since it just came on special, but might wait for the redmi note 12 pro 5g/moto g54 256gb/poco x5 pro 5g 256gb/one plus nord 3 ce lite.

      • poco x5 pro

Poco is Xiaomi 2nd class product, their phones are loaded with whistles & cracks but my last phone had a well know bug in the phone's messaging APP that wasn't full compatible with the Australian network.
In fact, it wasn't able to send MMS messages for users on the Telstra (and subsidiaries) network.
Complaining on the forums did nothing, contacting directly Poco was IGNORED so I suggest you stay away from this trash/scam brand.

        • I bought a poco for my kid last year has been faultless for general use.

            @HitlersDad:

has been faultless for general use

I also bought a Poco phone, it was faultless until I discovered (long time later) that people were not getting my MMS messages.
I contacted their forums, no support, I contacted Poco directly, NO replay!

@billadm: We have had no issue with MMS at all.

                You already said that.

My experience is different from your kid.

Everything looks great on paper until real world use .

Sounds like you bought a Poco M3, that one was a flop. Other Pocos are generally fine though

            @stephendt:

            you bought a Poco M3

You're right but when I bought it, all Pocos were generally fine until I started using it.
But Poco never replayed to my complaints so is that still generally speaking fine?

  • Because it is 5G, is this phone works with the normal 4G Sim from Coles? Thanks.

  • i've been looking to get this phone for under $400 and finally did today. $499 sale on samsung website less 10% off first order via app and $50 off for signing up to newsletter (i had a code from earlier, but its been a common discount in other posts) bought it down to $399.10. Hopefully didnt pull the trigger too soon before black friday.

Qantas rewards store has this for $456, not sure if officeworks would take 5% off that or maybe use points.

    • Now OOS at Samsung 😒
Do you have a link for newsletter sign-up (signed up for something bit got no email yet)

      • i can't find the link for the newsletter anymore but i read other people getting a code via chat if you're already a samsung customer if that helps.
