Free 3 Months Amazon Prime or $15 Amazon Gift Card for World, World Elite & Commbank @ MasterCard

31717

Discovered this deal via the Skip app, although you don’t have to be a Skip custom at all to redeem it. Applies only to Mastercard customers.

If you don’t have an Amazon Prime account, you’ll receive 3 months free - otherwise if you log in with an existing account, you receive a $15 credit to your Amazon account:

Edit: this is another way to get to the same promotion, though the link in the deal is more direct.

How do you redeem? Any instructions

  • +1

No quite seeing what we need to do to claim. Do we need to click via the Skip app?

  • +2

Perfect. Worked for me, and I even had the MasterCard as my default on Amazon already anyway.

This benefit was used by this account previously. Contact Amazon Customer Service if you have questions about this transaction.

  • Do we still get it if we already received the 3 Free months previously?

    • -4

      Try it and find out…

      • +11

I have exceeded the number of 1 times. Bummer

        • I've got a few 3-month Amazon Prime coupons from Monopoly. Always wondering how to use em. Is it just by using a new email address each time?

          • -1

@djoz: I can use one of those if you want to share.

          • @djoz: scratches neck you got anymore of dem free vouchers?

    • Didn't work for me.

  • +2

Signs of tough times, when they only give you 3 months of Amazon Prime.

  • I'm looking into a Prime subscription mainly to watch the free movies but I'm undecided on which one is the best, Prime or Netflix?

    • +3

Netflix has a lot more content but Prime comes with free delivery and limited access to music as well.

      • Netflix has a lot more content

I was sharing a relative's account then Netflix put restrictions so I can't use the service anymore.
It's the typical greedy monopolistic tactic that lead people think how to better spend their money.
They put some restrictions now so they'll put more restrictions later, it's just a matter of time.
Netflix also lost a lot of content after a battle with Disney so yeah maybe they have more stuff to show but it depends on if you're looking for good quality stuff or average high quantity stuff one.

        • +1

Netflix has a lot more quality content compared to Prime, including a lot of top-quality Netflix originals.

It's only fair that Netflix is making sure customers are paying to watch their content. Making movies is an expensive business.

And regarding the price, it's not expensive at all considering the fact that we pay less for one month of quality streaming than what we paid for a single dvd not so long ago.

    • Netflix IMHO but why don’t you take up this offer and check their range?

      • why don’t you take up this offer

I've read many people here who are not able to get the offer also before sign in something I want to be sure to know how I can get out of it so time is needed to find out what and when it occurs.

      • Also Netflix isn’t for life. So get one month then stop and swap.

  • Link has changed to the MasterCard.com . We need the redemption page.

  • +5

I'm getting an error "reached maximum redemption of 1 time"

    Hmm…

    • There was only 15,000 so posting it here may have blown it up.

      • Morien likely redeemed the earlier offer

        Something went wrong
Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product

Same deal just through a different promotion channel.

It will work for all the people who were too lazy never spotted the original promo.

        • A few days ago I tried it through that post and the website said that deal had expired

  • +1

Returning customers are eligible for the three months. I have never gotten the three months before, however (didn't even realise Mastercard/Amazon offered it previously?)

  • Thanks! Worked for me.

  • +2

Thanks, worked for me with my Coles MasterCard

  • Thanks worked. Now says my membership is managed by Mastercard. Anyone know if its easy to cancel before 3 months is up?

    • +1

You should be able to cancel now. Your benefits will last for three months.

      • Oh yeh your right. Thanks

  • +5

Thanks, 28 Degrees worked. My CC was already the default payment method, so I had to remove it first then add it back.

  • Awesome, worked for me on 28Degrees also. Legend!

  • thanks op, worked for up :)

  • Mastercard wants to give you $15 gift card since you're an existing Prime member and not eligible for the 3 month offer

    Citi Prestige MasterCard

    • Out of curiosity, have you redeemed any similar promos using the same card before?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/774097

      • +1

I had an error stating this Amazon account has already availed the offer ( existing AP using a different CBA CC) - I did got the $15, 6 months back on a different CC

      • I don't remember!

      • I don't think it's the cards that it validates. I think it's the email address that's associated to the Amazon account . I just tried using a brand new card that was activated yesterday and a cpl of others and all said I had previously claimed the offer.

  • Top deal of the week

  • Thanks OP, Annual subscription allready renewed in October but got $15 gift card via 28 Degrees card.

  • Didn't work for me. Westpac mc

  • Credit card number farming scheme?

    • +1

Not quite - doesn't ask for three digit number on the back, and the domain is owned by mastercard so I think hope they know what they're doing (:

  • +1

i must have somehow claimed this before - the process felt familiar and logging with my Amazon account, it says this benefit has already been used. that was quite sometime ago, this is still that same deal?

      • nah even way before that - felt like a year ago or more even

        • +1

I think they are all the same. Just MasterCard collaborating with various promotion teams.

          • +1

@Muzeeb: well i managed to still claim it since i had a new mastercard since then, but since the $15 has already been applied to my main account with prime, applying to my other account just activated 3 mths of amazon prime which is useless for me.

i could make another amazon prime account for 3 months with my latitude 28 degrees, but what a waste. They should let you apply $15 credit on an existing prime account for each mastercard you have…

          • @Muzeeb: This account is not eligible for this offer.

This benefit was used by this account previously. Contact Amazon Customer Service if you have questions about this transaction.

  • Thanks OP, got the $15 gift card credit as a subscriber already.

  • +1

thanks worked. got a standard commonwealth debit card

    • +3

No luck for me, I got this: We unsuccessfully attempted to validate your account status with your card issuing bank. If you believe this was an error, please contact your bank for more details. To assist the bank's review, please inform them that this validation attempt was for a Mastercard Benefits program.

      • +1

Got the same message twice. Not sure how to make it work. Never had Prime membership on this account or card before.

  • Straight forward, scored $15 credit! Thanks OP!

  • Hmm didn't work for me this time nor last time.

Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum quantity of 1 allowed for this product

        Same with Commonwealth Bank card

        • Yes - same

      • Yeah not working for me.

    • yep got the same

      • +3

I tried different emails, two different mastercards (Citi & Macquarie), 3 different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and none of that worked.

No idea why it works for some and not others.

        • Pretty much did the same as you and even I am puzzled as to how some people are able to get it.

          • +1

@ninohax: i had same error too.. i turned off my vpn and it worked on 2nd attempt..

  • Straight forward, just claimed $15 credit

    OK

  • I had a gut feeling that it would give me an error again that I already redeemed the offer - I wonder why Commbank just doesn't keep the original page active but makes a new page everytime for the same offer

  • Great. $15 for nothing. Tbh I don't get why they're giving the money. I'll take it tho

    • If I recall it automatically sets up your MasterCard to the default payment method on Amazon. Why that's a benefit to MC I don't know it care.

      • Nah, it gives you an option to make it default, don't have to choose it

        • +1

My recall was off point. Cheers

  • easy peasy

  • Dupe. This deal has been posted before…https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/793077. Marked as expired, but you can still access through the deal link.

    • No, this is a different offer link targetting different types of cards. Though it appears MC has put a limit of one claim of these types of similar offers to each person/cardholder.

  • +1

Damn. I just wanted to check if I am eligible, and received $15 by mistake. My prime expires soon.

  • Woohoo I won!!!
Congratulations, you have activated your Amazon Prime membership with Mastercard. As a Prime member, you will receive the best of shopping and entertainment.

    Thanks OP!

  • Worked for me on commbank Mastercard, thanks op!

Congratulations! You got a $15 gift card from Mastercard.
Mastercard gave you $15 because you're an existing Prime member.
    This is a one-time credit
    It does not expire
It has been applied directly to your account for your next purchase on
