    You know you want 2… I won't tell anyone… 🤣

  • +2

Be warned, some guys ordered in early October from Samsung direct and still don't have them.

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3rvjn7ym

    • +2

Wow that was a quick negvote

Also see sample August/September order DOA awaiting replacement for months.

Customers were advised delivery from November 28th at time of purchase.

      • Confidently incorrect; misleading at the very least (only late batch customers)

There are customers remaining from the initial batch of orders that were advised the original October 2023 ship date consistent at all of the following:

        • Advertised point of sale page
        • Checkout
        • Finalised order

We then follow reports that the finalised order text for the date is subsequently changed several times after the fact when OzBargainers/Whirlpoolers started reaching out to reps each time the next date was exceeded. They failed to proactively update the status or free-text ship date before those times and Samsung continued to misrepresent the ship date on new orders in the following period.

Late batch (November 2023) customers would also have observed a post hoc change from original early November shipment delayed to end of November preorder backorder.

Samsung separately also continues to purport the historic generic state delivery additional weeks delays page that was published for COVID impact (now still present with only the COVID text removed)

        • confident that I ordered 8/10/23 and advised on this date, at time of order and confirmed by follow-up email that delivery was 28/11/23

      • absolutely not, I ordered 7th Oct and my email confirmation clearly says ships from 19/10. Then it was pushed out to 4/11, then 16/11 and now its at 30/11

calling Samsung numerous times results in nothing, they have absolutely no information and nobody can tell me when it will ship. Absolutely shockingly and poorly organised company.

          • @Minimum-Chips: for you maybe, for me, ordered on 7th and this was in my confirmation email :

            https://i.postimg.cc/Y9mmJTRL/2023-11-20-15-44-07-Fwd-Samsun…

and for weeks after placing the order status kept saying this :

            https://i.postimg.cc/dVLQHr4L/2023-10-18-08-15-25-Orders.png

            • @Omarko: Cool - as long as you recognise that your 'absolutely not' comment wasn't correct, and different customers are having different experiences that may not be shared.

              • @Minimum-Chips: depends how your message is read. To me it sounded like you were saying - "Samsung were clear at the time of ordering when your screen will ship"

which in my case, and many many many many other people who bought same time …. is simply not the case and Samsung clearly lied to us all. Whats worse, they keep stringing all of us along and now offer a cheaper price.

                Absolute joke of a company.

                • @Omarko: agreed, I always consider this 'anticipated delivery' date, and don't have the expectation that this will be exact based upon the method of ordering.

If I wanted a hard-and-fast date, I would purchase one over the counter.

                  • @Minimum-Chips: I have absolutely no issue waiting if I am given a date and they actually stick to it.

How will you feel if you were told delivery is 28/11 and then it gets pushed out 3-4 times by two weeks … I am sure you would not be happy.

                    • @Omarko: Don't get me wrong, I am a very impatient person by nature.
In this case, I have existing monitors so there is no urgency on its arrival.
Based on the deal I got and the savings I received, I'm happy if delivery timelines got blown out until the end of February.
After that, I'd start to get a bit testy.

                • @Omarko: Agreed they definitely appeared to lead with that implication. Rather than saying "also" or "some", a a more overtly general statement.

Their own experience provides more corroboration that Samsung was still selling new orders with early November dates even after they knew they would not have stock by then - check history. Presence of multi-faceted upfront + continuous processing and/or system issues.

We already knew that some people successfully received the stated October shipment.

Personally would not backorder five months in advance for a monitor that was originally released months ago as I certainly would not expect it to be a once-in-three months deal, let alone half a year in which we regularly see stark clearance drops within the tech category lifecycle

                  • @UsernameChecksIn: reviewed my order on the Samsung site;
Please select a preferred delivery date in the calendar above.
We will endeavour to deliver on your preferred date however; if this date is not available, we will provide you with alternate dates via phone call or SMS. Please ensure that you or an authorised representative is present to accept delivery, failure to do so may cause delays in redelivery.

In response to potential misleading information below

I have now added a negvote to seller as an additional prompt aid to informed OzBargainers though we see increasing warnings with direct Samsung store

They will continue to garner thousands of clicks regardless. We weigh up how long we are comfortable having thousand-dollar "deposits" held for a backorder 🤔

      • +1

Downvoted for valid negative vote due to problems with seller per OzBargain guidelines…

  • +12

Just a reminder since it is 1000R and 1.4m wide, four of these will roughly form a circle so don't buy five :)

    • +1

      How many for sphere?

      • +1

Impossible since it’s not curved vertically :)

      • Vegas

    • whats the math behind that

    • What would be the diameter of the circle?

      • +1

        2000mm.

  • +5

I own this and really like it, though I wish I'd gotten it at this price instead of paying $400 more :( .

Just a few things to consider:

    • You'll need a GPU that supports HDMI 2.1 to utilise its 240hz capability. I use a 4090, which limits me to 120hz at full resolution, but that works fine for what I need.
    • For full resolution with M1 series Apple products, you need to use Picture-by-Picture (PBP) mode with dual inputs: one HDMI at 60hz (be aware that Apple's USB-C to HDMI adapter is limited to 30hz) and one DisplayPort. Make sure your adapter supports either 60hz or 120hz for the DisplayPort connection.

As far as I know only AMD have HDMI 2.1 on their newest cards, but you'll struggle to get 240 frames anyway.

    • +4

I think you mean DP 2.1..

      • +1

yes you are correct It's late I'm tired haha

    • +1

I am looking to buy this for mainly productivity use and watch videos etc, will my laptop (Intel 11th gen i7 with integrated GPU) be able to drive this monitor? I will be happy with just 60hz at this screen's native resolution for now. Thanks.

      • +1

Unlikely you'll get full res off an integrated GPU it's effectively driving two 4k monitors off a single connection which is unlikely to have the bandwidth. As with the M1 macs you need to run two separate cables to get full resolution at 60hz.

        • This was alleviated on the pro and higher apple silicon chips right?

    • Does your 4090 not have a HDMI connection? I have one from PNY which is based on reference AIB design and it has a HDMI2.1 port. I got mine (OLED G9) working at 240Hz, 12 bit RGB.

      • OLED G9 is lower resolution vs G95NC

Limitation is around DP2.1 support ^see prior thread

        • You're right! I keep forgetting about this. Thanks for pointing it out.

      • +1

It does, (I actually meant Displayport 2.1 as i corrected above which is needed to get the 240hz) the 4090 HDMI can only run it at 120hz 12bit which is fine for now as you'd struggle to get any game running at 240 FPS full res on this thing.

    • How far back do you have to sit to use this thing? Seeing it’s 1.4m wide

Or does it cocoon you? So it’s ok?

      • +1

I sit about 80CM away, the curve basically keeps the street at around the same distance as you turn your head. It's reasonably wide but not stupid wide., Your taste may vary I do know some people really don't like it. For me it's a great compromise between gaming and productivity, It's just 2x 32 inch 4k monitors without a bezel.

  • +8

Ordered one of these day 1 of release (instock). Took 3 weeks to get delivered to QLD. The Monitor had dead pixels and completely died within a month
(dozens of people had this happen). Took 4 weeks to organize pickup for a refund. 2 weeks and counting to receive my refund.

I would just avoid this screen for a while until stock is abundant or they start selling it somewhere you can walk in and exchange it. Best of luck anyone that does buy it, The price is very tempting for these specs.

    • I want one myself, but the QC and Samsung's business practices when dealing direct are a big turn off.

      • Would 70% off worth of stacked codes of this limited-market item be near enough the tipping point for the OzBargainer in you? 😉
        Future HODLing

        • If they could deliver it in a reasonable timeframe (and stick to it) I would probably order one.

    • And exactly why I only recommend to my friends Dell monitors. No matter how tempting these monitors are.

      • Historical Dell eBay sales yes

Dell direct online have had similar batches of issues on occasion.

        Also Lenovo

      • I can't talk about anything recent but dell used to be exactly how Samsung are being described - maybe worse. They would poorly repair returns and try them with other people, over and over again. Didn't like the product because it had bad pixels? Returned and then sent to some other poor sucker in the pool. This was in the days of the U2711 so it was roughly 10 years ago. Perhaps they have changed or perhaps the U2711 was particularly poor.

  • +6

I had to log in just to say i've been waiting 30 working days for this to be delivered. i am about to cancel it tomorrow if i dont get an update on it.

    • What is the latest benchmark on how long it takes to cancel?

Almost enticed to start this rigmarole of an order.

Store credit for future HODL stacking here we wait!

      • No idea, but since i used afterpay, if they (profanity) me around ill just refund via them.

  • +2

I would HIGHLY recommend buying from a local store if possible (I bought my 49 inch from HN but not sure if the 57 inch will be stocked by them), very high chance you'll have to RMA at least 1 and dealing with Samsung Online Customer Service is an absolute PITA from what I've read from other people. I had to RMA my first G9 and might have to RMA the second too, and having a local store that handles it within 3-5 days is a god send.

    • +1

      But Gerry!

    • Give more chance for reviews and community storming while we wait for retail

  • +2

No more cheap ssds, and I think I am just retarded at this point as I can't seem to get the 49" nor this one for said prices :(

I didn't need one anywyas (that's what I'm telling myself)

    • People in other threads suggested you can simply return/refund the SSD. YMMV.

  • Any non gaming ultrawide screen recommendations?

  • +1

This is absolutely amazing, now if only there was a 5k2k high-refresh OLED or MiniLED monitor…

    • +1

This one is 2*4K, 240hz, MiniLED.
I think this ticks all your boxes.

      • A bit too wide for my tastes (and my desk).

  • I have a taste for the more refined things in life….
That being said, what does the hub look like on this??

  • Would love to hook this up to my 2060.

  • Wow, finally there is one that let me consider to replace my three monitors: U3415 (3440x1440) + U2415(1920x1200) *. My three monitors total width resolution 7280 vs this one 7680…. hmm interesting..

  • +2

The 980 Pros are out of stock and the other SSDs eligible for the bundle do not reduce the price to what's specified in the header. This deal has innaccurate information.

    • Not sure how the discounting works after adding SSD because for me it shows $2,699.00 and -10% makes it $2429.1. I am confused.

  • I purchased one of these day one when they became available direct from Samsung , very fast shipping , No issues with the monitor , problem free , at this price just get it , you know you want one , there is no other monitor on the market that compares , awesome monitor , I prefer this to a triple setup or VR on my sim racing rig , the curve makes it very very immersive for gaming.

  • How does a 57 inch right in front of my face monitor work lol….

  • im struggling to get the 10% loyalty discount, any luck for you guys?

    • +1

If you’re trying live chat, select “Service” instead of “Sales”. From what others have said and personal experience, their service team can give out the loyalty codes. They will ask for a serial and model number of any previous Samsung device you’ve owned.

  • +5

To secure the $1,916.29 price there are 3 separate discounts which are required to be stacked in your cart:

    (1) 10% off first purchase for new Samsung Shop App users (no stated offer end date)
    (2) 10% off bundled Odyssey monitor + NVMe SSD (offer ends 31 Dec 2023)
    (3) 10% off monitors with Customer Loyalty Discount

For (1), you'll need to download and install the Samsung Shop App. You can either does this on your android device or, for iphone users, you need to download and install the 'Bluestacks' app on your PC and then download the Samsung Shop App (there appear to be 2 versions - you need to download the Australian version). Once you have the app installed, open it and then click "sign up" and create a new account. If you click "continue as guest", you won't get the 10% discount. Once this is done, the 10% discount will automatically be added to your cart.

For (2), you'll need to add the GNC95 to cart and then add a qualifying SSD. The cheapest one is the $149 500GB Portable SSD T7. If this is not in stock, you'll need to add a different (and more expensive one) or wait until the 500GB T7 is restocked. Once this is done, the 10% discount will automatically be added to you cart.

For (3), there appear to be several methods to obtain the Customer Loyalty discount but the easiest is (from the Samsung Shop App) click the chat icon, click "Order" (do not click "Products" or "Sales") and then wait to be connected with a Samsung Shop chat agent. Once connected, tell them you are a Samsung customer looking for a new monitor and would like a loyalty discount code. If the agent refuses your request, politely end the chat, repeat step (3) and try your luck with another agent. Most folks seems to have had success the first time but the critical point is to speak with "Orders" or "Service" rather than "Products" or "Sales". The agent will probably generate the code there and then and send to you via chat (if not, politely request this as it's quicker than waiting for an email). Once you receive the code, enter it in the field in your cart screen and voila, the final 10% discount will be applied.

Obviously the caveat here is that you'll also need to purchase an SSD in order to get the $1,916.29 price but to most people that's an acceptable catch, especially considering you'll receive a 20% discount off that SSD.

  • I cannot figure out which SSD gives a discount. I've tried a few from the bundle list and nothing.

    • 500GB Portable SSD T7 Only gray is included for discount. M.2 SSDs all pro are included.

      • +2

Not too sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried that too and doesn't show a discount.

      • +1

Have tried this. None of the ssds are stacking the discount now.

  • I bought the G9 and have not received it yet but quite frankly, I think they are doing me a favour in that regard. The longer I wait, the more likely it is that they get a handle on the issues.

  • Did anyone actually get this to work or is this just in theory, managed to get the 10% loyalty and 10% first time buyers only, sitting at $2160 for monitor only

  • +1

Yes, I can confirm this worked for me.

  • fyi: it seems the 57" GNC95 has been removed from Samsung's "10% off bundled selected Odyssey monitor + SSD" promotion so this deal should probably be amended to "expired". See link to promotion here: https://www.samsung.com/au/game-portal/gaming-bundle/

  • I tried..but not worked..seems they have removed 10% off bundle deal..moreover, ssd card starts from 1TB not 500MB..why are they changing the official website details? that i don’t know..

  • I have received SSD no information about Monitor yet. Still says 29th dispatch

    • I ordered a different monitor and also got the SSD lol. Was supposed to be tomorrow, but I think it got cancelled. Let the delay games begin! Any chance before Christmas? LOL

      • Now It says 30th Nov dispatch, it does not look like before Christmas.

        • Yep, just contacted Samsung and it got canned. Not new date set yet. The Philippines call center did say "happy thanks giving". Fantastic customer service - as you know, every single Australian celebrates Thanks Giving. =D

  • I still got this lol. Should be a miracle if arrives tomorrow

"Arrives before official release on 27/11/2023 Standard Delivery"

  • Keen to hear from ppl if they get their monitors.

Im still waiting on my 57” neo from 7th Oct order. Status says 30/11 but highly doubt that will happen.

    Hopeless Samsung.

    • Looks like Samsung started shipping these. Mine is due for delivery 4/12, got a message from ANC delivery.

      • They can still reschedule. Mine got pushed back the day before even with delivery time estimate. For a different monitor.

  • I ordered my 57" on 19/11 and was able to select 30/11 as the preferred delivery date but just called them this morning as it was still showing preparing order. Support agent basically said that preferred date means nothing as they are still waiting on stock of these to hit the warehouse.

Was advise fulfillment guidelines on preorder is 6-30 business days from date of order.

Sucks but i guess nothing we can do if they don't have stock. Just wished they could provide proper accurate ETAs, even if that means saying it'll be a 3 week wait or something.

Having said that, would be good to hear from people as to when they ordered and their actual delivery dates.

    • I ordered mine on 19/11 as well and was able to select 30/11. It still shows the 30th, but I don't think they will send it by the 30th. They are now out of stock. They may have received very few and maybe fulfilled their backlog; as everyone else has said with Samsung, it's a test of your patience.

  • I have not receive the monitor but received an email:

  • I ordered 7th of Oct and It was delivered today

    • Mine is now showing delivery for 12th. Let’s see if they send it.

    • Jealous. I ordered on the 10th and its not even close.

      • It says 12th of December but I didn't get it. Still preparing order

  • +2

Just got a phone call from Samsung saying that they have run out of stock and would like to cancel my order! I ordered on the previous deal before this promotion.
This is after 3 months of telling me that they are waiting to allocated.
Ordered October 10th for delivery on the 20th.
    Delayed to Nov 18th
    Delayed to Dec 6th
    Delayed Dec 18th
    Request to cancel.
    WTF Samsung!

    • Did they cancel your order or you cancelled it?
