    If its only for listening to vinyl either would be a good choice - so maybe the price or atheistic could be your deciding factors.

    The LPW40 from reviews seems to be a better build quality compare to the plastic feel of the LPX-500.

    Though the PLX-500 is targeted for DJ's and therefore has additionally features such as direct drive (as oppose to belt drive), it also has pitch control and USB connectivity to RIP vinyls via Rekordbox software, or even connect to Rekordbox DVS for DJ'n.
