[eBay Plus] Valve Steam Deck 64GB $628 Delivered @ Mobileciti eBay

1260
DASO20

Product Description

  • Portability meets power
Steam Deck is partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom APU, optimised for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.
  • Thumbsticks and triggers
Best-in-class thumbsticks with capacitive touch sensor built-in - provide a level of precision and comfort not found in other portable gaming devices. Analogue triggers provide a full range of input for the best experience - especially in driving games.
  • Grip buttons
Four user-assignable buttons on the back of the deck put the next level of control right at your fingertips while keeping your thumb firmly planted on the trackpad or stick.
  • Handy trackpads
Play PC games that were never designed to be handheld. With increased precision and customisability, trackpads also give you a competitive edge when playing fast paced FPS games.
  • Gyro feature
With an IMU and capacitive touch thumbsticks on-board, Steam Deck helps you aim better. By physically positioning the device you can achieve more precision than using a thumbstick or trackpad alone.
  • 40W battery
Steam Deck Gaming Console's onboard 40 watt-hour battery provides several hours of play time for most games. For lighter use cases like game streaming, smaller 2D games or web browsing, you can expect to get the maximum battery life of approximately 7-8 hours.

Yeah, and they'll cost almost twice as much for at least the next 6 months.

Can you please link me where I can get the OLED locally for close to the price of this deal?

      • +2

        So…no?

  • How do you get the full $628 discount price? I only can get $715 discount with the coupon or has the price increased?

    • As is in the title, you need ebay plus.
Then as is in the post, you use code DASO20

Est delivery is early January so better HODL for boxing day !

  • +2

Fair price for it. Note that its a chunky boy so not as portable as you might have hoped for

is there are pre-made distro setup for retro gaming on this? (i'm not too interested in the steam part, but the retro emulation looks amazing)

i don't mind adding 'material', just looking for a one-click solution with controller mapped, best emu, frontend, boxart, etc already setup would be awesome.

    • +3

Yes, it's called EmuDeck. It installs all of the emulators and configures them for the deck. You just need to provide roms and bios' (where applicable).

    • +1

There is an installer called emudeck and it runs a script to install all of the emulators you want in one go. You just need to move your ROMs/bios files into the appropriate directory and you are set.

It's pretty close to a plug and play experience.

For this price, it's a bargain. Throw in a larger SSD and you are good.

$628 for 64gb is a steal within context, but frankly, buying a Steam Deck in Australia isn’t worth it when the new consoles that are ALSO built on Zen 2 and RDNA2 outperform the Steam Deck in the same price bracket, and sometimes even at a lower price themselves.

And if even the ROG Ally can’t sell that well in Australia, despite only being $50 more in the US than the 512GB Steam Deck and having a similar, if not higher performance APU, then it’s clear that no clear majority is interested in buying a Steam Deck through grey market imports, or are holding off until the AUD starts getting stronger against the USD and Valve starts selling the Steam Deck here.

Most Australians’ handheld gaming needs are either met by the phones in their pockets or the Nintendo Switch at this point, and that will not change until Valve gets off its moral high horse, starts to play by the rules of the ACCC, and releases the Deck here in Aus.

Hardware isn't everything. Steamdeck is like the iPhone where it may be beaten on the spec sheet, but the software makes up for that and then some.

    • +6

I don't think you undersrand hand helds.

Nintendo knows it's not just about specs its about user experience too.

This kills the Rog Ally and Legion Go in terms of experience. Would handily beat them in sales if it was sold here.

Game Boy outsold Atari Lynx and Game Gear.
      Nintendo DS outsold PSP.
      Nintendo 3DS outsold PS Vita.

For handhelds, it isn't about high end performance.

      Which ones please?

      • +1

        PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

        • okay.. i thought handheld :D but yeah got your point i will wait

  • I would highly recommend reading the Feedback profile of mobileciti_estore before you comfortable hit buy.

    • +1

I've got steam decks from them in previous deals without any problems.

    • +5

98.9% positive? 100% positive on Deck sales? What am I missing here

    • I personally wouldn't buy from them.

And I know it's not just me that feels that way, but in my experience their rep lied about the Pixel 2 XL having a Google warranty, here on ozbaragain.

I found this out when I needed warranty support 9 months later, they gave me the run-around with a 3rd party repair center (Sydney Mobiles), and ultimately claimed there was nothing wrong with the phone, then sent it back broken.

Shipping costs, and cost of phone out of pocket, I ultimately sold it for parts rather than deal with various agencies, further shipping costs, and going without a decent phone for even more weeks.

    shrug you do you, wish.

  • -1

what modern good rpgs run at rock solid 30+ fps on the deck?

  • Is the speed running from a MicroSd noticeably slower?

    • +1

not really, you’d only notice in a side by side comparison. Some games might struggle like ratchet and clank and returnal

  • I love my LCD Steam deck but I do wish it was OLED.

  • I wish steam would just start selling these in Aus through the Steam store. Got a tonne of steam/game inventory items I would love to sell to pick one up.

  • Need an advice please. What's better for kids 9 and 13 yrs old, this or switch. They don't have a console at home and never asked, but they saw switch a few times at their friends place and kind of liked it I think. They particularly enjoyed "active" games there and a sprit screen part of it when they play together. Can deck do all of that too? I understand HW is better here but does it provide same experience?

    • +1

if they enjoyed "active" games, the switch is the way to go.

despite clear hardware differences, the output really isn't too different as the games for switch are optimised for switch, as are some steam games on the deck.

switch will be better for multiplayer/split screen as it comes with two controllers.

      • Cheers. I'll try to get the OLED model then

    • +2

      Switch every day.

  • Want to be the OLED model but the original at less then half the price is very tempting

Is this seller decent and back warranties? If it was Kogan I’d feel better about it.

Or do I wait for under $600 which may come…

    • This is a good price. Worth it if you're going to actually use it

    • Do Kogan every have theirs on sale? I haven't seen it on OZB.

I hate settling, but as you said, for half the price the I should maybe just live with the slightly shorter battery life, dimmer screen and slightly more input lag.

      • Noisier Fan and black light bleed too I’ve been told
