[Unobtainable] Add an Item to Your eBay Watchlist, Get Bonus $10 eBay Voucher @ eBay

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Mod note:

eBay has contacted Ozbargain on the afternoon of December 6th and has requested for the details of the deal to be updated, as it initially did not outline the terms & conditions of the $10 'Voucher' (which has a $100 minimum spend requirement, only applies on 'eligible items' and excludes postage costs). As the title & description of the deal omitted these details, it has been moved to the forums as unobtainable.

lmao they didn't finish the webpage before publishing it:

So you add something to Wishlist every day, or add now and it'll cover you for entries until Dec 15? And add 10 things?

      • since 6th is already over for me, I'm going to do 2,2,2,2,1,1 each day until 12th

        • What's the reason of this breakup?

    • +19

      Next step, Lorem Ipsum

      • +4

My bank pushed out an update to their app that had a large chunk of lorem ipsum in it 🤦

  • +2

Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but how do you add something to your wishlist? I only have a watch list..

    • +9

      Watchlist = Wishlist…

      • Oh ok, thanks. They probably could have made that clearer

        • +15

@WoodenSpoon Actually, they are separate lists, just like Amazon has.

          • +3

@itsfree: I don't see that drop down option on desktop.

            • +1

              @AustriaBargain: Yea me neither…

            • @AustriaBargain: it took me ages to find it but the WISH LIST i on the actual item page. You can then 'add to a list' instead of just add to watchlist.

WEIRDLY - i have two ebay accounts. One has the Wishlist option, and one does not. Both using desktop.

          • +1

@itsfree: I don’t see this option on iOS eBay app?

      • +7

I appear to have both a Watchlist and a separate Wish List.

Go to an item, click add to list, should be an option for Watchlist and Wish List.

Note that Wish List is a subset of Watchlist, so to view you need to go to your watchlist, then click on the down arrow and choose Wish List.

        • +3

I have a Watchlist and two Wishlists

        • I only have a watch list, and an option to create custom list. Should I make a custom list called "Wishlist"…

          • @AustriaBargain: It's in mine as "Wish List"
            But the terms say:

Turn your Watchlist into your wish list
Spot something you love while grabbing your gifts? Add it to your Watchlist from 1-12 Dec and it could be yours, on us.

So you should be fine adding it to your Watchlist. I've just been adding to both, to be sure. To be sure.

            • +1

@Tiggrrrrr: Sorry for the confusion. I wrote the wrong word originally, but can confirm I was meant to write watchlist. Thanks for letting me know

              • +2

@OutOfTime: Just in case, I'm adding everything to my Watchlist and my Wishlist. I won't miss out based on a technicality!

              • +1

@OutOfTime: You still have "Wishlist" in the post here:

                How it works
                - Add items to your Wishlist from the 1-12 December.

                • @MiscOzB: Thanks will fix it now. Sorry for the confusion

          • @AustriaBargain: Yeah seems to be only Watchlist on the app. :/

  • +8

    So this is a competition?

    • +16

Yes, but you also get the $10 voucher, so no.

      • Hmmmm.

I'll upvote both of you and let Ozb decide.

        • Like a modern day Homer Simpson flicking the light switch on and off

      • In other word, eBay pay you $10 to join the competition since you can't reject?

    • +16

everyone who puts something on their wishlist enters a competition where you might make a lot of money in the form of an ebay voucher (or a few, idk).

everyone who puts something on their wishlist will also receive a $10 ebay voucher after the promotion is over.

    • +1

The $10 voucher is guaranteed for everyone, so the voucher component of the offer is not a competition.

  • +11

Worth noting that there are some exclusions from the "Eligible Items" list:

Websites & Businesses for Sale (11759), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252), Gift Cards (172009), Coins (11116), Other Tickets, Travel (123416), Services (316), Gift Cards & Vouchers (184609), Coins, Bullion (178078), Emerging NFTs (262050), Art NFTs (262051), Non-Sport Trading Card NFTs (262052), Movie NFTs (262053), Music NFTs (262054), Sporting Trading Card NFTs (262055), CCG NFTs (262056), Software, Loops & Samples (177027).

    • +12

NFTs… bwahahahaha how are everyone's monkey pictures going?

    • No software? FFS. Need to add another 4 items now.

    • oops need to delete those gold bullions

  • -1
    • +1

the competition part, maybe, but the guaranteed $10 gift card bit probably warrants its own deal, right?

      • +1

$10 GC is a separate deal.

        • it says it at the very bottom of the ozb post if that's the link you mean?

Everyone who participates will score a $10 voucher.

the ebay link says this in a red card:

          Something for everyone
It's the season of giving. Everyone who participates will score a $10 voucher on us.^

  • +4

    10) The first Eligible Entrant(s) drawn in each Prize Draw will be the winner(s), and will receive a single-use eBay coupon up to a maximum value of: $2,000 for the winners in Prize Draws 1-10; $5,000 for the winner in Prize Draw 11; and $10,000 for the winner in Prize Draw 12. The coupon will be attached to the winner’s eBay account from which their entry was drawn and will be valid for five (5) days from the date the winner is notified of their winning entry.

Better start looking for that $10k item!

    • +5

When you believe they'll give it out to an actual peasant 🤦

      • -1

OMG!😭Can't believe I won ! Thank you Walton eBay team ! ❤️ keep doing the great work. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🚀🚀🚀

      • Fuk yeah! Peasant Present me up :)

    • Was looking for a Bently on eBay. Now I don't have to

    • +1

      Mr Gold you are mine!
      Files report for counterfeit item
      Ebay don't refund coupon codes
      $10k bye bye

  • +6

Can someone just link an item that meets the eligibility that my lazy ass can wishlist

  • Excuse me but where is this Wishlist. All i see is Watchlist?.

    • +3

wishlist is just a christmassy name for your watchlist.

Turn your Watchlist into your wish list
Spot something you love while grabbing your gifts? Add it to your Watchlist from 1-12 Dec and it could be yours, on us.

      • Oh i see. Just a case of the OP accidentally calling it Wishlist instead of Watchlist in the deal description. Because i see no where it says Wishlist on the promo pages. It says Watchlist. That's going to cause a bit of confusion to some people calling it Wishlist trying to find some thing on ebay called Wishlist which isn't called that. It's Watchlist.

        • +3

          Sorry for the confusion ;)
I should have written watchlist, so I've updated the title. Thanks

  • +1

Anyone know how/when we get the $10 voucher?

    • Some time after the 12th Dec.

  • +6

I hope 10$ voucher doesn't have a dumb minimum spend clause

    • +2

Yeah i wonder if it's one of those $10 discount on a $50 spend.

      • +3

Ebay isn't that generous. I'm betting it's one of those $10 off $90 spend.

    • Same, but they still haven't provided the terms. I remember last year there was a similar promo with no minimum spend so I expect it wont. Fingers crossed!

    • +1

      no relation to santa clause

  • +1
    • Max 10 entrees per user. There will be 52 winners across 12 days drawn daily.

If there are 12 days drawn daily, why would there be 52 winners (when you are only drawing once a day)?

    • +2

      drawing multiple winners daily

  • +2

So TLDR find something you really like and watch list 10x different listings of it

  • Well i've added a few items to my watchlist. And so far i hadn't received any $10 voucher. I wonder when it's going to be sent out.

    • keen to know as well

      • Yeah unless they've exhausted their supply of $10 vouchers. That would be unfortunate.

    • +1

I'll update once the terms are added, but usually it's issued a while after the final day of the offer period (after the 12th)

    • Will be after the promo ends of course…

  • Anyone know if you can stack it with other vouchers?

    • +2

Can only ever use one code at a time, no?

  • Wait and see how this pans out …

  • -1

Can you use the ebay app to add items to your watchlist and still be eligible?

  • +1

The prizes: “One lucky winner will get a $10k voucher & 50 winners will get $2k vouchers“

    • +2

yea so its not win your wish/watch list
      It's

"use the count of items in your wish/watch list as entries into winning $2000 daily except for the last few days when it goes to $5k and $10k finally"

  • Nice

  • +1

While adding items I clicked on the eBay Plus link (in a new window because it wouldn't open in the page) and I was offered $9.99 for one year of Ebay Plus. Ebay Plus is worth exactly that so I signed up!

  • +1

Little confused. so if you add 10 items to your watchlist, that's 10 entries?

  • So what do I have to do? Add 5 items into my watch list every day till the 12th December?
