Acer 31.5in FHD IPS 60Hz LCD Monitor $179 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ Umart / MSY

200

Great price currently on this large 31.5INCH monitor. The box was huge. I saw it today at Officeworks Fitzroy on clearance for $267. They had two on the pallet this afternoon, I checked it out and you should be able to a pricebeat and get it for $170.05.

There is a bit of stock around currently for pickup in metro areas.

i think kmart has these shitters for $149? $159?

yeah i mean FHD 32" is hard to sell even to the dead set morons who shop at kmart like me

Not to detract from the deal, but at some point in the last ~15 years every1 use to have FHD TVs and/or monitors, and people still do. The TVs more for movies, shows and console gaming, etc whilst monitors more for operating systems and software use. And yes I know sweet spots for resolutions and monitor sizes, pixel density, pixel pitch, etc, etc. Most big screen TVs exceeded 32" with FHD, so what makes it so bad..? Besides the pixel pitch..

I do believe for OSes, software and general computer usage there have always been and continue to be scaling issues and that the way we approach displaying interfaces is all wrong just like software optimisation and how we're not optimising it enough. I don't really think you can display software across all devices the same way, just as websites should display differently.

    • The difference is that you don't sit right in front of your TV, even with small bedroom TVs you are always some distance away. Text on a FHD monitor that size is painful.

      • How close? 30cm?

      • Its not painful, unless you use a better screen elsewhere then you def will notice the problem.

For reference I used a 40" FHD tv for a few years

I've been using a 31.5" for a few years. I'm not gaming, should say. I like the size as I can sit back and it works well for me because the standard fonts are readable w/o glasses.

    FYI

  • I have a cheapie 32" FHD, which is 1 of a 3 monitor setup. The 32" I run portrait and all it does is serve up OZB live or new deals all day, which it does just fine. Fitting, because it was bought off an Ozbargain deal. Zoom the browser and text , easy to read………………

      The 32" I run portrait

      I have 24" 16:10 as portrait next to 32" 4k, 32" portrait is quite big 😊

These screens are fine. Nothing wrong with FHD particularly in a multi screen setup. 3x 4k is just unnecessary and a waste of cash. Run one 4k as your main work panel and then two FHD as supplementary.

  • The one at Office works is 1440p no? For $247? https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/acer-31-5-…
Can't find another Acer 31.5" monitor on their website…
In anycase - I think FHD is totally fine for say PS4 gaming with this.
Most 32" televisions that are available on the market are 720p… and they cost more!
