@itsfree: Will do! I hope you’ve enjoyed eating whatever you’ve ordered thus far!

  • There were no $1 tacos available after 2 pm initially, but later discovered two stores selling them for $1 after 3 pm. It might be worth checking again for you guys too.

  • +1

Seems like they changed the rules so you can only get one per account, not only one per store. The $1 taco offers disappeared after my first order. At least the change was on the last day

    • +2

I ordered four $1 tacos from two different restaurants.

    • +1

      Yep, don't do it.

I loaded up carts with the tacos to check final price, first one went through no dramas. Second one checked out fine with the right price, but then charged much higher in the end.

Have disputed it with Uber, will see what they say I guess.

Anyone else ordering from multiple restaurants I'd recommend checking the amount charged.

      • It goes higher because the deal ran out.

Source: I had 3 carts open, and played around too long trying to make the tacos equal 20 dollars. They dollar deal expired and reverted to full price on checkout.

        • Yeah I know, I did check out in quick succession though so my cart still said $2.50 ($1 meal and $1.50 fees) at checkout.

4 Tacos for $11.89 delivered here in Perth incoming from Taco Bell! Thanking you now OP as I won't be so kinda later tonight when I'm shitting myself on the porcelain throne!

Edit: No notification or banner today

    • got same offer, literally only place showing offer for me

      • Any other stores available in Perth?

        • None that I could see

  • +1

Even the 5-6 Mexican places around me aren't participating in the deal.

  • +3

My order took so long to arrive, the driver was waiting at the store for over an hour, that Uber gave me a $5 voucher. So this meal will cost me -$3, assuming I use the voucher on an order I would have made anyway..

  • Thanks OP

So happy with my 12 sundaes delivered for $13 yesterday as no cheap tacos were to be found near me today.

    • -4

Nice haul, assuming it's legit. What's up with people negging your comment? I wasn't able to get any sundaes due to the proximity so no big deal.

People negging other member's success. You do realise other OzB members reporting success is useful information?

    • +1

Congratulations!! But aren't you worried about pancreatic cancer?

  • +2

Not a great selection for tacos. only 4 places near me doing it and only 1 met the minimum for free delivery. Oh well, has been a great week,

  • How long do we have to wait for the next $1 promo? Can't wait

    • Probably not for a while. Good strategy from UE to bait you as you may be tempted to check on UE more often now.

  • +2

Schnit day was A+, sundae day B-. Kind of melted and about right for the discounted price. But hooley dooley what was up with Taco day? Pretty well impossible to score an actual deal due to delivery fees. Probably depends on location a bit. But a $6 taco discounted to $1 plus 5.99 delivery and $1.50 surcharge is not much of a deal in my book.

  • Does anyone have a screenshot of the email with this offer? I got charged full price and support want to see original email :/

  • +1

Cheers OP and UE good stuff! 🍺

    • OP got the time wrong, L

      • +1

        Touch grass, you'll feel better.

        • It won't change the fact that OP got the standard time wrong, L

      • It says AEDT

        • excuse me boss, where does it say that ?

          • @darkmoss:

            1. It says AEDT 4 times in the description. 2. If you were in a different timezone you should know to check anyway, it's just life 3 .The big red minus next to your name says you are a negger. 4. If you really 'like the proper time' did you actually report and ask for more detail on time to be added as suggested on the last comment you complained. This is a community and thus a group effort, not somewhere customers get to sit back and complain about service.
      • +1

That's it who negged me?! 🦖

        • -2

I'm not a negger, I just like the proper time to be kept

          • +1

@darkmoss: Bro you are fussing over little things here

I am just glad that someone posted this deal in the first place, I have a scheduled order for a schnitzel on its way right now. lol.

      • The correct way to fix it is report -> title/description.

Doesn't warrant a neg because OP copy/pasted from uber website.

        • The uber site said between 2 and 4 Aest

          • +1

@darkmoss: T&Cs link for this promo

            search 'aest' 0 results

            search 'aedt' 14 results

Like I said, you're blaming OP for what uber has written.

          • +1

@darkmoss: The promotion was 2-4 AEST and 3-5 AEDT (being the same actual time). It was advised to people in different timezones differently by Uber I'm in QLD (no daylight saving) and got an email with 2-4 AEST on it, the OP got one with 3-5 AEDT. I think your gripe is maybe with the government not OP or Uber. (not sure if western states were different again)

            • -1

@tonka: shouldn't the standard for the listing at least be 'AEST', not the adulterated false time ?

              • -1

@darkmoss: Well now I live in QLD instead of Sydney sure. But we know everything always defaults to the Sydney/Melbourne time standard. All big business banks etc. follow AEDT as the norm, it's not on the OP. To be honest I had no idea AEST and AEDT weren't the same thing until this post. At the moment I live in QLD and work remotely from SA with Sydney deadlines, what can you do the planet spins and tilts.

  • Had my only scheduled order cancelled. Anything that can be done about it? I was really looking forward to that sundae today!

    • Anything that can be done about it?
      you can write on ozb

    • +2

2 options. 1. I wrote to them and said it was a $1 deal and it sucks it got cancelled. The nice person at uber gave me $18 because that was the original price.
      2. I had an order cancelled and went to the help part and clicked on "I was charged for cancellation" and got an automatic $5 voucher.

This can be very random as I tried option 2 for another cancelled order and was not given the $5 voucher.

Hope you get some kind of credit!

      • thanks for your response. Didn't work for me. I'm annoyed because they cancelled as they didn't have the product, but then you can go into there and order one for full price. I also called and asked if it was available and they said yes. They couldnt tell me why my order was cancelled.

      • Oh wow lucky you! I did reach out to support on a cancelled order but just received an apology response 😐

      • +3

Update: I told Uber help what happened (it being cancelled and still available to be re-ordered at full price and what the store said) and how i wasted one of the promos and they credited me $23 to my uber wallet! Full amount of how much the sundae would have cost.

        • awww snap, SCORED!

        • It appears credits are not for everyone because they stopped responding to me and closed the case. Targeted?

          • +1

@Suricate: Same here. I opened the case 2 times and both time they closed it with some weird excuse.

  • Welp I forgot to pick up my order today for my Sundae, but when I checked my order it says it was picked up 🤔

    https://imgur.com/a/p6qWBHL

    • What ended up happening here? I had a similar situation but Uber ended up giving me the $18~ credit even though I paid $1.

      • I have reached out to support but nothing back yet, will update when i can

      • "Sorry to hear about the issues with this order. No worries, let me take care of this for you!

As the restaurant has prepared the food and will require payment, we will not be able to provide a refund here." Hmmm so much for taking care of it for me

        • After some more complaining they gave me $1 refund, and after even more complaining I got credit for the item 🤠

    • Yr partner picked it up

  • +2

Had several orders cancelled for the Sundae. Uber support reimbursed $19 for each order. Win!
