Brought one of these used 6700xts this year and it died 5 months later and outside of return window. Never again.

    • +1

Was it the 3 month or 12 month warranty listing?

Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming 12GB Video Card Used 3 Months warranty

        AU $449.00
        Unit price AU $449.00

        Returns not accepted.

Delivered on Monday 27 Mar 2023

        Died 5 months later.

Inoperable tried to fix no good.

        • Thats a risk with any second hand part.. but things that have been running 24/7 mining could have a much shorter life.

          • @vid_ghost: People here will tell you mining has no effect on card

          Ex mining for one year.
          Some dust and corrosion.
          No original box.
          Card only no other accessories.
3 months return to base warranty.

@MetroCom Jun is very selective in their auction descriptions meaning if it is not listed, it is the worst case scenario

So your 6700 XT was actually:

EX mining card for one year in a dust heavy and temperature uncontrolled/hot server room
Not very good condition with visible dust and corrosion
Not tested working with no issues ie. tested, worked most of the time but some issues encountered

Caveat emptor and only buy the cards with 1 year warranty

On the contrary, I bought a 3070 ti from this seller 14 months ago and it's still going strong. Absolutely zero issues.

      • Me too, my 3070TI has been running with absolutely no issues. Super happy with my purchase as it was an amazing price at the time.

      • was it an ex mining card tho

  • +7

my 6700 xt i got from this mob has some mild artifacting issues. i wasnt bothered to return it (probably shouldve had) but yes. just another precautionary tale abt buying ex-mining gpu to throw onto the pile

    • +1

replace 'shouldve had' with any of the following - should have, shouldve done, shouldve*

  • Just back from Japan where they have really good used A-grade GPU prices and this was going for around $450-$480 AUD, so local stock with a 1 year warranty at this price is impressive.

  • +5

Mine died after a few weeks and they replaced it no questions. So they're good for warranty.

  • +1

Mine is perfect do far after maybe 6 months, no artifacts and performance as one would expect.

friend bought one of these 6800s. was very clean however the fins on the heatsink that arent coverend by the backplate were extremely bent as they didn't pack it in a box and only a bag with bubble wrap.

    • Ha! mine was like that but in a box, never seen a more badly packaged computer component ..lol sounds like yours was even worse.. they ran out of boxes 😒….just lucky mine was basically new looking when I got it 0 sign of dust or wear n tear… 10 months in still going alright… Fingers crossed it's keeps chugging along

Mine was a Saphire 6800XT for reference.

I bought this same one for I think $459 not that long ago. First one was a dud on arrival. They sent me a return label alongside a replacement. Replacement works just fine, runs games well and stays actually pretty cool.

  • +1

I have one of these and get a white flicker every so often. I'm not sure if it's the card or drivers but been thinking about getting it replaced.

  • I'd avoid AsRockand zotac

    • +1

      Any reason why?

  • +2

You may be able to buy some of the models cheaper direct https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1C3yL5WG0glNKGw6PHMlP…

  • +1

Not 100% relevant to this deal. But I bought a used 6800 XT card from gpu_hub on ebay during the black friday sale.

The condition was immaculate. If you told me it was new I would've believed it. Not sure if it was a ex-mining card or not.

  • What programs would you use to stress test the CPU?

  • +1

Not a deal, this is just regular price which hasn't budged for a whole year.

  • How much the bargain? Seems lots of issues from comments above.

  • Picked up one of these.
Tested last night and DOA. Works for a little while with light workload, then gets sudden artifacting and crashes.
    Will claim warranty today.

    • …they have packed up for the year already and won't be even answering emails until January apparently. Brilliant. Just perfect.

    • +1

Same here mate. Got the Red Dragon.

Benchmarked for a bit then started crashing, artifacting then grey screen with blue lines.

Tested on two different systems after DDU.
